Don't care for it, but it might be better in game. Some vidya you don't appreciate the music fully until you play a bit.

The hourly themes seem way too loud and I'm not a fan of that weird synth instrument they're using. Seems like it'll get grating pretty quick. I want some chill guitar/piano focused tracks.

Imagine if they added a music change option where you could change the hourly songs to those of the past games. That would be a tremendous upgrade

Keep in mind you're listening to it without any of the usual background noise. It probably wont sound so loud/aggressive when you have a bunch of shit like bugs and footsteps making noise all the time.

Really interesting, this is the most traditional sounding ac music yet. All the other works are quirky and off beat while this just sounds like generic island music. Its not bad in fact I like it but it wont be much of a stand out.

Never played an AC game in my life. I like DQ Builders style games where I get to build a home base/town/whatever and go on adventures, kind of like Minecraft, if Minecraft had scripted quests and whatnot on top of the open ended shit it already has. Does this game give me something like that? Or like what do you do?

Yes it could have the same "feel" as that. As long as you keep coming back and don't time travel it's a snowball of chill. Watch the direct to know what you do, it has a fairly basic summary, although it doesn't cover everything of course, just like 40% or so.

Its not really a builder game. Its a life simulator, but its not like The Sims either.

You basically start from nothing and work you way up VERY SLOWLY to getting a nice house and making your town the way you want it. Its a game you play to basically relax and chill out, not for the grind or for reaching some end goal because the game never ends and you dont really have to do anything.

I did played it, that's why I claimed it's boring. I like playing calm games but this game feels empty even with the neighbors.

Did you play it for more than a week? The game fills up over time. At the end of the day though it's just tastes, like not everyone is gonna like a certain food for example.

Imagine this, you’re playing a game, any game, a very hard one too like guilty gear or ninja gaiden black. You keep getting your ass kicked and you’re frustrated beyond reason then once you’re done barely beating the current missionyou just want to do something that isn’t tasking, demanding or cause any further frustration. Then you put in animal crossing where you can unwind and relax by fishing, donating to the museum, decorating your house and doing tasks for other villagers. There’s no demand for skill or punishing mechanics that forces you to be on edge at all times and you can go at your own pace and do whatever you please with the occasional special activity or holiday thrown in at certain days.
It’s just a really relaxing and easygoing game where you don’t have to worry about a thing, like a virtual zen garden, it’s supposed to bring you at ease and sooth your mind.

this type of generation won't be possible sorry. You can't terraform the beach meaning the areas where the rivers enter the ocean will be unchangeable. And there is only 3 formations those can be in.

It shows fish and insects alongside each other - while the insects would be in more of an open pseudonatural exhibit, with trees and plants, they wouldn't be in with the fish, who have their vertical aquarium containers, and there definitely wouldn't be landforms with waterfalls coming off them like that in the distance.
But that's definitely an artificial ceiling, with light coming through the box-like shapes you can see there. They're higher than the regular eyeline of any Animal Crossing game, so they'd never be seen in gameplay. So, what does that mean?
We knew that Animal Crossing was always a little simulation with bottle settlements that exist in isolation - we've played the games. But this image implies that this is not only the case for us, but for the in-game world itself. In the universe of Animal Crossing, everything is a simulation, either a digital one or a physical one, and its scale could be anything from standard to the size of a shoebox.
It's a conspiracy.

I'm playing the game of life. I've decided to try whittling, and so far it's pretty fun but it kills my hand. I'm using a shitty stanley knife at the moment so I'm hoping that a proper wood-carving knife will make things far smoother.
I've also just finished playing the Link's Awakening remake. Too short to justify the price, but otherwise pretty fun. I never played the original. The dungeon maker was disappointing. I like the chibi artstyle.

So I've seen some people wonder about what makes the GameCube soundtrack sound so special compared to the other osts.
I think a lot of it comes from the synths that were sampled such as pic related.
For example, the lead instrument in 5P.M. is sampled from the 8850 where it's called 70's E.Organ and the raspy synth that can be heard in 3P.M. etc is the 8850's Cheese Saw. A lot of the drums are also sampled from it.

By synth I don't mean that these sounds are all "synthetic", it's just the way these devices are called. A lot of the sounds on them are recorded or "sampled" from real instruments, obviously.
I assume you want proofs so:

(Might sound a bit different cause the hardware itself is different, even if the sample is the same. Music on GameCube AC is played back in real time on the GameCube's sound hardware using short instrument samples, much like a MIDI)

Here's an art tip about coloring. Try shading your colors with another color rather than just sliding the color picker closer to black. For example, shade the orange hair with a color that's sliding closer to red. Or with the skin color, shade it with a color thats closer to pink. It's a little bit of work figuring out when the colors look right to use as shade, but it produces less muddy looking pieces

Not sure how I feel about adding limbless animals, but I think they should break the "special character can't overlap with villager" rule. Turtles, hedgehogs, and owls would make great villagers.

Especially considering Tortimer is dead now.

Not that I've seen. Most likely, we have the two layers of raised ground as that limit. I'm curious if they can be right on each other, or if you need a tile of space between the cliffs.

Its assumed we can't do anything with the beach, which is probably a safe assumption.
I'd imagine that the river-mouths are possibly to adjust by editing the last tile of river... but I haven't seen anything on it. And its possible that they're not movable.

I feel like the airport and services building are stuck where they spawn as well. But, I would like to be pleasantly surprised.
