No, but I live close to LA, so it's nice seeing landmarks in GTA SA
>vice city
obviously not the city itself but inspired by it. they mainly covered the eastern island well, the western island is sort of thrown together and since the game has released, that area has changed massively anyway
>hotline miami
mainly for atmosphere, it does incorporate some real life addresses (though these are usually just random). miami does have a surprisingly noticeable russian population so that's sort of accurate too
>the crew 1 and 2
The main city centre areas are filled with well placed landmarks- the suburbs and neighbouring areas are poorly implemented but that's to be expected
>need for speed heat
again not the city itself but definitely inspired by it. Some buildings and landmarks are ported straight over, but there placement in the city is all over the place. Also mountain areas in the game map don't exist IRL
>ms flight simulator
real excited for this one, but that would apply to every city
Splinter Cell Conviction and Fallout 3
More games in Wash DC?
lol the division 2 recreated DC like 1 to 1. Too bad the division games suck
Only ever in a game that is complete shit, so it doesn't count.
apparently overwatch 2 features a toronto map and im not proud about it
>NY
Never, not even once
Why does Chicago always get ignored by vidya? We only got the trash that is Watchdogs 1.
but will it feature pride flags, user?
coof
I live on an actual Grove Street
Crew 1 and 2. St Louis also got mentioned in Watch_Dogs
Stranglehold has a few levels in chicago, probably because it was made here. GTA Underground is also going to have a version of the city.
No, but the house from Sabrina the teenage witch is in my town
Chicago is such a fucking shithole, even video games avoid it.
And as a Chicagoan myself, I don't blame them. Fuck this place.
Closest mine got was a mention in a single line in a shitty game.
Chicago is such a boring fucking city that all vidya ignores it
Nope but I live in the same city Eva from metal gear solid was from, a (at the time small) city in Idaho
Has there ever been a game set in an accurate Washington State? I can't even think of any that take place in it at all.
Yeah, every year in Madden
i live just outside of boston, fallout 4 was actually not too far off of the mark when it came to positioning of those colonial landmarks. even though the game kind of sucked it was neat seeing something in the setting
Nah Fallout 4 was good Yea Forums is just too contrarian to admit it.
InFamous Second Son did Seattle pretty well
Alan Wake is set in the rainforrest around Crater Lake. Oregon but close enough.
Shame it was kind of a shitty level
barely anyone even knows my home island exists let alone the """""""city""""""" of ~80k
Its one of the main setting for Driver 2. Take-A-Ride Mode is very comfy and it was my GTA 3 before GTA 3 was a thing.
ah yes, cs_italy
watchdogs 2 was a little better but mostly because it chose san francisco, really fun for crazy taxi-esque chases
Midnight club 3
San Diego in MC3 got me interested in the place when I was younger. Neat city, I'm kinda surprised it hasn't appeared yet or even been mentioned in any of the GTAs set in San Andreas, or really any game other than Midnight Club 3 (as far as i know) come to think of it.
Neat. Is it as comfy as in the game?
Watch Dogs 2
No, and it never will, but I'd love a GTA set in fictionalized Australia.
>went to chinatown for 6th grade field trip
>literally went to that 4 seasons restauraunt
>fucked around with buds going to chinese knockoff markets looking at rubber nuncuks, real swords and said, absolutely awful knockoff yugioh cards
>this was fucking amazing as a kid
>see my old teacher just a week or so ago
>he mentioned they cant afford those trips anymore
Its not fair, Yea Forums. The zoomies dont deserve to miss these kinds of experiences
i think GT2 has a Seattle track, never played it though
Deadly premonition?
>Fairborn, OH
No I am actually pretty confident it hasn't.
>said
sais*
I used to live in Fairborn, whaddup
Baltimore was in The Suffering Ties That Bind
You may have just hit on why zoomers are so annoying and why they can't tell the difference between corporate garbage and soul
>Minneapolis
Just Madden games
Thingken bout Roush's. Wish it was still open. I liked their hot shots.
Its was ok. It's not a good as people say it is.
My town produced two somewhat known memes, Dr. Ho and Naheed Nenshi.
And it only will be if something includes Wright Pat, while I'm convinced a Fallout game set in a triangle of Dayton/Columbus/Cinci with Wright Pat being a major focus, Todd ignores me
I only lived there for about a year and only really hung out in Centerville because I worked there, I moved back to Cincinnati though

Whats your house like?
It's definitely a nice city to live in, albeit a bit pricey. I'm guessing the city either isn't big enough or doesn't have enough recognizable landmarks to be featured in a GTA type game. Although it would be perfect as an extra city to drive through along the coast in addition to L.A.
Meant for
Rainbow Six Vegas?
>live in a shitty village
>Overshadowed by the city right next to it
>Which is overshadowed by the city right next to it
>Which still never shows up in games because it's always Amsterdam or ambiguous tulip fields with german folk music
SOMA shows the MC riding the Toronto TTC during a cutscene.
I live an hour north now, but seeing that brought me back 20 years, when I'd ride to daycare with my mom by subway.
rl version
so did Watchdogs have a realistic potray of the city?
>Killing Floor 2
yes
>It doesn't even look like Denver
>It doesn't even have that one semicolon shaped building that everyone draws along a bunch of generic looking buildings when they're drawing a fictional denver.
Tokyo?
Yeah, a couple of times.
Seattle has been in a few games, and the only games that look even remotely like it is probably The Crew and American Truck Simulator.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has some very recognizable parts of Pioneer Square, but that game isn't out yet.
Not that I know of. I know of Kentucky Route Zero but I don't know if any specific, real Kentucky cities appear in it. Are there any other ganes set in Kentucky?
>DMC5
>Watches nuCoD
>Probably other games I don't remember
Every game always does Picadilly Circus in London completely wrong.
It always makes me REEEEEEEE
One of the NBA games basically called my city a cornfield and falsely claimed we didn't have shit like malls
Fort Wayne sucks but at least be accurate
The CBD with the river, skyscraper and huge industrial monorail would make for some awesome level design. I remember visiting it during heavy fog and it was something straight of Nolan Batman.
>miami
oh no no no no
I can't think of ONE (1) game set in Oklahoma, but while I was trying to I just had a flashback to when I was a kid and thought a tornado chasing/controlling game would be the fucking shit. Closest I ever got to that dream was SimCity 4 and a demo for Tornado Jockey lul
And yet Detroit gets a whole bunch of games
I dont think Anor Londo has ever been in a a game
Watch_Dogs, but it was a tourist Chicago. Not really a north side, South side is non-existent. It's basically downtown, the river, and Michigan. That said, it was surreal playing with my sister and driving down Lake Shore Drive in game.
Make GTA set in my city and a south side with Back of the Yards and I'll be happy.
Ubisoft made just enough changes in the street layout for it to be confusing for someone who actually lives there, like me. I'd be heading down a road I knew well in real life, make an obvious turning and find myself lost because they'd altered the map. There are enough maps from that era so I don't know why they didn't stick to reality.
tfw everything in the background of the movie is replaced by condos now
Prey 2007 took place in Oklahoma in the beginning
No, closest I’ve gotten is a single shitty map in one of the CoD games.
Wasn’t even in my city, just my country
Deus Ex Human Revolution my man
I'd be surprised if any game could make London 1:1. The city was never designed with automobiles in mind so all the roads are overlapping each other in various different angles. It would make any game map designer insane.
American cities are usually super easy to duplicate because it's all avenues and boulevards.
I don't think Des Moines has ever been in a game, I don't even know what you'd do in the 515 in a game.
Forza Horizon 3, it got it pretty fucking spot on in a lot of areas.
Really neat to see my city in this because I don't think it's that well known internationally.
yeah moscow was pretty cool in metro series
Same view on Google Maps for comparison
They are going to add Kiev in next Assassin’s Creed, which is the first time it’ll appear in a video game. I always wanted to see Kiev Rus in 3D
It did get nuked thou.
only on one of those train sims as a DLC, but I don't play train sims so I don't know how accurate it is.
>implying anyone wants to make a game about inala
Sadly
also i guess medieval 2 total war?
I think Australia pre-1995 is the only non-American setting that could work for GTA. And I say that as a Eurofag, I don't get fellow Eurofags or clueless Amerifats who want a GTA in Germany or UK or whatever, we just don't have the same car and gun culture.
When Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 comes out, all of our cities will be together in one game.
Forgot about this one. I wonder how 1:1 the London in Watch Dogs Legion is gonna be.
I'm certain Indianapolis has never been used as a setting for vidya.
The rural areas were out of place, but otherwise it was half-decent.
The speedway is in basically every racing game ever
The part about London becoming a full-on police state is accurate, it's just hilarious that the ultra lefties at Ubisoft and the kind of people this game is targeting think that the reason for that would be Brexit and nationalism.
Dumb zoomer.
Barcelona appeared in Wheelman only, as far as I know.
yes
Yes
Not really, but a picture of our castle is featured in the Lightbringer/Dungeon Magic intro.
youtube.com
I wish we had hot elves walking around
Only in train and bus simulators.
And that's a good thing.
venice was nice too, landmarks where you remember them to be from vacation there. shame its a tourist hellhole today
It will when Microsoft flight sim 2020 comes out
I live in a shtty little town called "Baytown". Its known for three things, its bridge, its extremely large industrial plants, and having mexicans fucking everywhere. I hate it and sometimes I wish the exxon plant by my house would explode so I can die.
I can't think of a single game that actually takes place in Amsterdam
it's pretty accurate
Maybe, I guess Miller Park in MLB games count. Our art museum is featured in movies sometimes though.
Played this when it came out, probably didnt even know the city was named Florence or what the significance was since I was pretty young. I lived there for six months last year though for studies, is it accurate? Would I be able to navigate it? It would be fun to find the shithole I lived in
If a race track counts.
>GTA Underground
Every single thing that comes out of your rotten brain is pointless
Supposedly Savannah is in Left 4 Dead 2 but it's obvious no one involved has ever been there or even bothered doing research.
>Tampa
Tony Hawk's Underground had this armpit we call a city. Pair it with 2004 Punisher for an accurate representation of a normal day
Florida is always either Miami or Tampa if it's like a skating game or something. I don't know if there has been anything for Orlando though.
It's a shame, they could have done a mission in that weird af airport you guys have
>dumb zoomer
>Did you ever think about exploring the UK further in the GTA games? Lots of people remember the GTA London titles quite fondly...
>I think for us, my gut feeling is, GTA London was cool for the time, but games were more limited then. These days I think we would love to set a game in the UK, set in London, whatever, but I don't know if it would be a GTA game. I think there are plenty of great stories we could tell about the UK, great environments to showcase, great gameplay mechanics that could have a UK bent to them – I just don't think it would be a GTA necessarily.
Yeah, GTA will be so much fucking fun with our tiny European cars and noguns
What game has the most accurately recreated cities? I'm in the mood for some digital vacations.
>Alabama
I doubt anyone would make a game with an Alabama level.
I can't think of one that my country has appeared in, outside of shit where the map is the entirety of Europe or planet Earth.
no one wants to get shot over making vidya
heyjackass.com
Shenmue is pretty vacational
Shame it was kind of a shitty game*
The crew and deus ex.
All of which don't portray my city as nearly dangerous enough lol
how much are you being paid to stay in detroit
You could say so.
Not my town but I like this one. Yakuza copied it well
a lot of cities appeared in the old Rampage game
I remember finding that exciting when I heard about that at first but found it underwhelming even back then because there's hardly any difference between them with only a couple of graphics sets.
hugely fun level
if the original Fallout 3 had been released I could have seen some post-apocalyptic Colorado towns
They make it seem like it's a deserted secreted island even though we have like 850k inhabitants.
even my country barely does
been there user, very comfy
im honestly about to buy this game. Just to fucking get a Aerial view of cities. Maybe in real life i can fly some day LMAO like that guy that stole the airplane in seattle. LMAO!
Metro series has by far the closest depiction of Moscow I've seen in vidya. Sadly what we see in the game are mostly ruins.
yup, it was fairly kino
nigga i live in tokyo
>ywn see Upstate NY in a game
I doubt my country has even appeared in vidya outisde of racing/skiing games
im form Turkey so no.
i loved watch_dogs 2 and i can't wait for legion.
i think The Division 2 made an excellent rendition of the Washington DC and its' landmarks.
Thats the one thing ubisoft can do right
How is palestine bro
Although I can assure you there's no place in the Netherlands that looks like this
Left 4 Dead is also supposed to be set in Pennsylvania
where is this Island user
wait a second this user is...
>Deus Ex Mankind Divided
Not a very accurate depiction of the city, it looked like some northern European city and didn't have any of the cool gothic shit we have around (concept art had it, but in-game you could barely see it). Plus they really poorly did the designs for the futuristic police if they were trying to make them look like Knights, especially since the more iconic Helmet of the Czechs were the Hounskull and not the Flat Top Bascinets. Also the fucking dumb Russian accents are shit, Czechs have an accent that sounds more Polish.
>Vampire the Masquerade Redemption
Actually good depiction, there's some anachronisms like the Astronomical Clock during the 1100s and the Premyslids being the bad guys and being Tzimisce and having fucking Scimitars for weapons. Although that's White Wolf's fault more than the devs because they were the dumbasses that assumed every Slavic royal family is Tzimisce instead of doing research. I am surprised the devs did their research and had stuff like the Judith Bridge instead of Charles Bridge (since Charles Bridge wasn't constructed until the 1300s).
>Darklands
It's mostly a generic city like all of the other ones, but I'd say it's still portrayed accurately in it's overworld sprite and general location, plus the devs put a lot of nice little touches and references, and there probably would've added more if they had more time to finish the game
>Modern Warfare 3 and CoD:WWII
Meh, I mean, it was okay, but I am not a fan of Call of Duty. The city is mostly accurate in MW3 but the WWII version of the map just looks a bit more stylized and less accurate, at least Karluv Most is still there.
I think the closest thing I ever saw was Cape Canaveral showing up in The Crew. I live south of it in Melbourne (same county).
Houston?
There's several European countries that have more free gun laws.
Like Austria and Czechia.
A GTA game set in Vienna and Prague would be pretty cool.
Let's not even talk about Italy, that shit would be kino.
not a single game takes place in my town which is odd because of how important it was to the Manhattan project and the disproportionate amount of pro athletes/writers/movie stars from my town
Orson Scott Card even lived here
>Although that's White Wolf's fault more than the devs because they were the dumbasses that assumed every Slavic royal family is Tzimisce instead of doing research.
Actually let me elaborate on that.
When I first played the game, I was super confused on why the Premyslids were Tzimisce's wearing what looked like Turkish clothing with fucking Scimitars, especially since up until that point, the game was pretty accurate.
So I downloaded the "Dark Ages" book of VTM lore, and lo and behold, it too said that the Premyslids were Tzimisce and were revenants as well.
The thing that's weird is that at the time of the game's events, the Premyslids were the rulers, yet that brings about a lot of historical plot-holes, like how the Hussite Wars probably wouldn't have happened because of this.
So I am assuming White Wolf are the ones responsible for this, and the devs tried to remedy this by making the Premyslids look as foreign and weird as possible so that no one would confuse them for the actual historical Premyslids I guess. I dunno, I guess we'll never know the truth.
New Jersey hasn’t been in any game except that one level of Tony Hawk Underground, I think.
Oh and I forgot Sly 2.
It wasn't Geographically accurate, but they really nailed down the Gothic feeling of the central areas of the city. They really went wild with it this time.
>GTA IV
>GTA Underground is also going to have a version of the city.
?
Fallout 76 turned my hometown into an ash pile.
Homefront? i dunno im from Philadelphia
Only as an extension of New York. I meant more of the state itself. I want a mafia game set in Atlantic City, but I’ll never get it.
then you can settle for Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja Pro-Am and Assassin's Creed III
Well Sofia is a city state in Civ V, theres also a GTA SA mod but I think thats it.
THE ONE WITH THE RIFLE SHOOTS
Why wouldn't it? There's actual history to Detroit, unlike Chicago.
The first Midtown Madness game is set it Chicago. Loved that game as a kid.
I can't actually think of any game other than forza with scotland in it, let alone glasgow
I'm still mad about MD
how did they manage to make fucking prague ugly
>Charleston, SC
Maybe in some Civil War games but very unlikely
Don’t don’t remember a single game in DFW.
i never played any of the fallout games but rochester, ny was mentioned in one of them
All of Fallout 4, including Far Harbor(Bar Harbor)
Its not even close to being accurate. The scale is fucking hilarious, Fenway park is like 1/100th of its size. Nothing lines up correctly. Nothing in Far Harbor lines up either, like fucking at all and Arcadia is a fucking hill.
new orleans, rdr2
Probably because the devs keep forcing in their stupid futuristic geometrical architecture shit in literally every single nu-Deus Ex game
Seriously, look at fucking moscow.
And this game is set like what? 7 Years from now?
No, precious few games set in Canada, and whenever they do exist it's always fucking Montreal
I live in the prairies, gas the easterners now
Montgomery Alabama is a shithole and I'm glad there's nothing for it.
Nigga I'm lucky if my STATE appears.
>Live in the capital city of oregon
>everyone just knows Portland
Fuck me
The only thing my town is known for is the National Guard firing on protesting college students.
For Phoenix being the 5th largest city in the US I don't think I've even seen more than just Outlast 2 and Postal 2 being set in the entirety of Arizona, let alone in Phoenix.
Not as far as I know and quite frankly I am glad for it. I hate this city enough that I wouldn't want to be reminded of it while playing video games.
I've lived in several east coast FLorida cities (not Miami) and I'm pretty sure Miami and, if you wanna get technical, parts of Orlando and Daytona are the only places I've seen in games
Fuck no
My entire country hasn't been featured once, let alone a city
yeah
Silent Hill 2/ San Bruno
I live in Stalingrad
The closest I have are mods for sim city.
my town only has a chance of appearing in WW2 games
Of course not, I don't recall my fucking country appearing in any game other than one meme game and stuff like paradox games
The only game I'm aware of apart from grand strategy titles is Train Simulator of all things.
Destroy All Humans did it well
Yeah in The Crew, it was pretty awful
Cause it's the most generic American city.
L.A has the celebrities and population
New York is Iconic.
Miami has the latin influence and sunny beaches
What does Chicago have?
An L train and Niggers.
>all those tourists
Medicine was a mistake
My home town of Saratoga Springs was mentioned in Red Dead 2 during a horse robbing mission
Yes.
Kek, mentiroso do caralho. It’s a weird hybrid of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Sky King was a hero, god bless his soul.
Is this game worth playing in 2020?
Nah my town is too small to have a game set in it, any good games set in Atlanta though? I'll take that, it's close enough. I know L4D2 has Savannah but that's too far away for me to count.
The closest my state has ever come to being in a game is Death Stranding. According to the map, Lake Knot City is in Minnesota. Looks absolutely fucking nothing like it of course, but yeah. Can't think of any other game that has even tried.
