Drunkenly bought it a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. Definitely was surprised at how fun it is. The only bummer is the roster, and the paid dlc characters actually costing money. Worth every penny though.

Alright fellas, I have the game but have little to no exposure to the Power Rangers series. Before I play, I kinda wanna watch the series so I can gain a greater appreciation for the game. They’re all on Netflix (I think), so I’m gonna assume that Ill just watch them all in release order. Is there anything I should prepare for before I jump in? Like any shit that will detract from my experience from enjoying the series?

Ninja Storm Beetle Bros, but probably hard to implement because of the switch version, so a White Dino Ranger would be fine, too.

You're talking about hundreds of episodes from 25 years of series. You might want to find some recommended episodes and skip the shit seasons.

12 year old me LOVED the Time Force series and the original series, but like the other user said, it's a show for kids, and it doesn't try to hide it 99% of the time (with the remaining 1% being the throwback/crossover episodes where they get actors from the old series to reprise their role for nostalgia value). I wouldn't recommend it trying to get into it if you are old enough to browse this site.

But just in case you aren't, Time force really was the peak of the series.

If you don't like Gold Ranger, Jen, or Zedd then there's no need to get it. The game is balanced decently enough that DLC fighters aren't super OP.
Kimberly is in the base game, just with her comics alter ego.

I was trying to learn Dai Shi but he's weird and I hate mindlessly aping combo videos.

Haven’t picked it up but it looks cool. Are there any bangers at all though? Every clip I’ve seen has either no music or it blends way too much with the fighting that I can barely hear it.

You really shouldn't watch every episode of an episodic 25-year-old franchise. Here's your rundown if you want to watch:
>Mighty Morphin'
Too nostalgic to rate accurately. Cheesy in that 90s way because it was feeling itself out, but it has some good moments. Any multi-part episode is going to have something decently important to status quo changes, otherwise only watch episodes with a synopsis you think is funny.
>Alien Rangers
Mini-series basically, kind of a mess.
>Zeo
Late MMPR with new suits basically. The Gold Ranger storyline is cool but little else stands out.
>Turbo
First half is the first lowpoint in the series for being so stale. Second half is decent and has a great finale.
>In Space
The first truly great season with good writing and characters. Essentially ends the "arc" that MMPR started with a 10/10 finale.
>Lost Galaxy
Works off of In Space's setting moving to space and has some more great writing in there. Magna Defender is based.
>Lightspeed Rescue
Back to Earth for firefighter/rescue stuff. One of the most based Reds.
>Time Force
Contender for the best season with contenders for Best Red, Best Pink, and Best 6th. Quantum Ranger is Vergil from DMC.
>Wild Force
Co-production between Saban (original studio) and Disney (who bought the rights just before). Has some cool shit but is weaker than the last few. Has THE best anniversary episode in Forever Red.
>Ninja Storm
A little more comedic as it's Disney's first solo season, but the comedy lands. Likable characters.
>Dino Thunder
Strong season that's solid all around and does the "hero from old series becomes mentor" thing really well.
>SPD
Space Cops in the Future. Great season with great high points and good characters. Doggie is ultra-based.
>Mystic Force
Mediocre overall, but there's a lot of cool designs to prop it up. Koragg is also ultra-based.
>Operation Overdrive
Most skippable season thus far, just a mess with a couple okay ideas.

Arguably the best season given how drastically they changed the source Sentai to fit the story they wanted to tell. Great characters as well.
>Samurai/Super Samurai
First seasons after Disney sold back to Saban. A near 1-to-1 retelling of the Sentai but worse at every turn.
>Megaforce
A forgettable season with bad writing.
>Super Megaforce
Notable for butchering Gokaiger, one of the coolest modern Sentai, and relegating it to only half of the story since this is the sequel season to Megaforce. Considered the worst season in the franchise.
>Dino Charge
Best Neo-Saban season easily. Great characters, good writing, cool designs.
>Super Dino Charge
Sadly weaker than the previous season but still a decent followup.
>Ninja Steel/Super Ninja Steel
Mostly just mediocre. Better than Samurai by a margin. Its anniversary episode is okay at least.
>Beast Morphers
Co-production between Saban & Hasbro, who bought the IP a couple years back. Clearly has more money than Neo-Saban era and has better writing as well, at least in its first season. Steel is based.

Next series is an adaptation of Ryusoulger because I guess ToQger, Kyuranger, and LuPat are too weird to adapt.

Everyone hates Turbo, but the finale is legitimate kino leading into In Space, which is rad all around. Spoiler:They lose. Badly. I don't think I've ever seen main character job so hard in a children's series, and it's actually compelling.

Hopes and wishes?

>Zen Aku for villain rep/teleport
>Carter for gunplay

Part of me kind of wants to watch some of the old power rangers seasons for nostalgia purposes, but I also feel like it might ruin my memories of it. A few years ago I tried rewatching the first season on netflix and it was kind of funny, but not as fun as I remember watching. I don't wanna fuck up my memories of Lightspeed Rescue and Time Force if they aren't as good as I remember.

It’s got directional inputs like smash and Pokken but it still has the cuhrazy nonsense you can pull off in a tag team fighter so it can still be a bit overwhelming for a newcomer.
