I remember that in RF2 theres actually a 'deadline' for your rivals marrying their designated girls but even then it takes a very, very long time that you'd have to be sleeping in everyday if you want to get to that point fast. I focused on raising my cooking level just so I could do that.

I use the appropriate seasonal fields for slow growing plants later in the game, like those elemental flowers and golden veggies but otherwise no. I didn't even really visit them for materials unless I was actively working on something.

Games that are made natively for the Switch or ported from 64-bit games in other platforms are 64 bit. Games that are originally 32-bit are often kept that way for the Switch because it supports that. But emulators don't, and they don't intend to implement it soon, since so far the only notable examples IIRC are Monter Hunter, Mario Kart 8 and RF4

Here's a tip I don't see repeated from the 3DS threads back when RF4 first came out
Save your game when you want to get married, then keep going to bed until the day starts with a random event. Remember which day this was and reload then either sleep or play normally up to the night before the random event was going to happen, then save, sleep, check the random event and reload if it's not the marriage event you're looking for.
I would imagine the same works for getting Act 3 but I don't know what the name of Act 3's starting event is

I'd like them to pace the story better. My only major criticism of RF4 aside from it being low-budget is that the main story likes to set stakes way too high and immediate for what is otherwise a laid-back game where you're encouraged to take things as slow or as fast as you like. Like it's really jarring to have the town invaded by soldiers who leave Ventuswill unconscious on the floor of her throne room, with everyone encouraging Lestfrey to follow them to their secret lab in hot pursuit, only for them to turn around and start talking about the harvest festival tomorrow. The game and the setting are both chill; let things actually be chill in the story.

I'd prefer it if they either set goals with less immediate stakes, or had some sort of non-restrictive time gate. Like they could say "It'll take us a week to find the location of the Sechs base, why don't you take that time to prepare?" and you could either wait it out or go exploring and find it right away.

Unpopular opinion, but I want them to find a middle ground between the RNG shit and the bulletin board instead of getting rid of the randomness entirely. I like that events just sort of happen naturally even though it can be frustrating sometimes. Having the bulletin board in previous games just made the town and character progression feel robotic. The devs are probably well aware of the all the complaints about the RNG, I just really hope they don't over-correct it and make it entirely controlled by the player. It would make the town feel dead in a lot of ways.

SoS1 is rather unfinished and has some weird design choices. SoS Trio is much, much better, and has a lot more daily dialogue, and the DLC expansion added a ton more daily dialogue and new events (it's a free expansion for JP, XSEED charges for it because xsneed and xfeed)

any weapon can work, but staves can get incredibly busted once you get good upgrade materials and gloves/dual blades can rack up dmg pretty quick

If she doesn't leave, it's not an event that involves her so reset until it does. If its for the marriage event, your should already at 10 hearts. Characters with 7+hearts stick with your party even if you sleep. If you don't have 7+ then you go to your waifu and see if it's the event. If you can't find a event day playing normally just make your waifu follow you and sleep multiple days until she leaves. Remember that day, then play normally until the day before said day. Soft reset till you get the event. RF4's event system is horseshit and No one should wait 9+ years to marry someone waiting for a goddamned event.

I think the series is currently in a fine place. RF4 has over 150k sales in Japan, over 200k in NA, and who knows how many more in other regions. Most niche games do not sell this well, and breaking into mainstream would only result in more special snowflakes crying about not being pandered to, or getting butthurt about some dialogue.

It's really not a story or character drivin game. The waifus are nice and the story exists I guess but the main draw of the game is farming/crafting/dungeon crawling.

if an item has "unshipped" in its description, that means selling it unlocks it in the store (which could be something you get later through an order)

Horde withered grass, and throw regular green weeds into the fertilizer bin. Withered grass is scarce and useful.

Instead of farming every bit of open land you got, rotate what sections you're planting on to give them time to rest.

Use the scythe to get higher level seeds instead of harvesting, but be aware that there is a level cap based on the scythe you use. If you get a high level crop as a gift/reward/loot, SELL IT and you can buy seeds for that crop at that level.

Get chickens and cows ASAP for eggs and milk. Make omelets. Open up your shop. Make 20,000g+ on festival days.

its kind of a weird progression system, but yeah, selling high level seeds you made will increase the seeds' level they sell. just magnifying glass them, and sickle only the ones thats higher level than the current

oh one thing i guess that's kinda lame is that notice board out front will give you quests you can't actually complete at current progression level. stuff like dungeon seeds can't be gotten until the spring area

You have to actively try to get kicked out.

Withered grass is easy to get, just plant a bunch of turnips and leave them unwatered.

Keep an eye on the request box, you'll unlock some nice shit from it. Accepting a request stops you from accepting other requests
(you can only do so many in a day) so personally I find it a good idea to only accept some of the requests, like harvesting shit once I know I can instantly complete it or have already met the conditions.
I see no point in stopping myself from being able to say go kill some enemies a a request while my crops are growing.

She has cute mannerisms. I like how she advertises her shop despite no one being inside to actually manage it.
