The grouped encounter design keeps the game much more replayable than 3's constant 1-on-1 encounters with spastic enemies. Humanoids also make for way better combat than beastly weirdos who always just sperg out aggressively. Theres a meme about the Drake Giants in 2 attacking nonstop but theres an actual method to finding their window over opportunity and that changes depending in what weapon you're using. Meanwhile, 3s entire combat philosophy outside of boss fights is "stay clear until he is done with the autism fit, then walk up and swing".

That game sucked, I only got about 300 hours of gameplay out of it when usually a Soulsborne gives me at least 500. I feel ripped off.

The Drakekeepers are one of the only good encounters in the game. They are straight more interesting than any boss in the game barring looking glass knight on NG+_

It isnt a bad game by any means, but retards put it on a pedestal, especially since on release, it was very much NOT a good game. It went from a 5/10 to maybe a 7 or 8 out of 10 with the re-release, which could have ironed out all the flaws. Soul Memory and them completely fucking the lighting will never fucking EVER be forgotten, ever.

Even the fucking catacombs have tons of room to roll around enemies where the classic games used the environment as an enemy itself. Spam rolling would get you killed more often than not before with claustrophobic passages and narrow ledges where as now its a get away free button.

Without torches you could wander into a group of them.
With a torch out they would aggro from MUCH farther away letting you take them out one on one.
