Yes

Bump Jaheira, Jan, Korgan and Mazzy all up one slot, lower Anomen and Minsc by one and put Imoen on the same tier as Nalia.

Mazzy is terrible, dude.

You need to stop think of her as a fighter and think of her as an archer.
She's not great as your main melee damage dealer but can do a LOT of attacks per round with her grand mastery in shortbows and a tugian bow and can take a beating if she needs to.
She's not top tier but she's a few steps better than terrible.

>Aerie on top
That's questionable. She has stats to pull M/C off, but that's not a good class. She can't use heavy armor as a mage, and multiclass mage is too weak compared to pure one. Can work as a third mage, but certainly not a top.
>Jaheira in mid tier
She's one of the best NPC in second game. Fighter with decent stats and ironskin is a lot better than pure fighter. And she gets insect plague and elementals later. Either spec her in staves for SoR in addon or, even better, make her dual-wield scimitars with belm off-hand.
>no Imoen
I mean, fine, she's not with you for at least a third of the game, but she's second best mage in the game and perfectly capable thief.

If Imoen can't be in then neither can Sarevok.

She doesn't get weapon proficiencies fast enough to dual wield scimitars until late game.

I remember reading the instruction book as a kid and it said Mazzy, Edwin and Haer' Dalis were the most powerful but hardest to find characters.

>or, even better, make her dual-wield scimitars with belm off-hand.
I agree with the rest of what you said about her but she wouldn't be my first choice to hand belm to.

Never believe instruction manuals.

>Cernd is confirmed not to be in BG3
Why even live?

>No Yoshimo
You know he can dance on the head of a pin?

Edwin is definitely the best mage, his necklace makes it so. he however is not hard to find.
Haer'Dalis is probably the hardest to find, he's from a very out of the box quest, cant imagine many people bother with, plus if your trying to Romance Aerie he tries to cuck you.

sou desu ne

BG2 is one of the greatest RPGs of all time. 3 will be sooner trash

All these by threads are making me want to play it again, what should I make mc?

>Recruit Korgan to my party, the chaotic evil dwarf berseker thinking he's gonna fuck shit up and be evil
>He's actually only a bit of a dick and gets along with most characters including the good ones
Should've been chaotic neutral

What have you already done?

fighter cleric mage so you can do everything all at once

Inquisitor Paladin is always my go-to.
as a bonus it lets you finish Keldorn's quest in the ideal way because you wont need him to wield Carsomyr for you.

>as a bonus it lets you finish Keldorn's quest in the ideal way
I'm pretty sure you can pick him up again after he's spent some time with his family.

you have a choice, you can give him a day, or you can tell him that he can return to his family forever.
regardless you can have him return in ToB, but thats a long way away.

no way user. I cant articulate why but Korgan is evil for sure.

Hot opinions:
>S
Korgan, Edwin, Sarevok
>A
Keldorn, Anomen
>B
Jaheira, Viconia, Imoen, Nalia, Aerie, Jan, Haer'Dalis
>C
Mazzy, Valygar, Minsc, Yoshimo
>D
Cernd

Dunno if Keldorn deserves to be A, but inquisitors are pretty broken in vanilla BG2.

I prefer Cavalier because getting Hangard's Axe -> Azuredge -> K'lodgarath renders the "can't use ranged weapons" drawback moot and having a buttload of resistances and No Fear is absolutely amazing as a party lead and tank.

If I can start Chapter 3 looking like this, I know I'm in for a good time.

>sword and shield style
oh no no no...

He is a brutal killer who enjoy murdering anything that move.

I also prefer Cavalier. The Inquisitor is good but Carsomyr gives dispel magic for all paladins and any spellcaster can cast true sight.
Undead hunter is quite nice for making the vampire fights much easier though overall worse than the other two kits.

Sword and shield is broken bg1 and early bg2.

The lv drain immunity is a boon in high lv battle. Most big monster have some sort of lv drain ability.

I'm not sure about most. I think the Demogorgon and shadow dragon did but those are the only two I can think of. The others just had other bullshit to deal with.

Jan is a toptier character. He always has a story related to your quest. He was even a god once. He has his own custom invented illegal machinery and armor (dry clean only). Besides, illusionist+thief is op.

>cast time stop during Demogorgon fight
>fucker don't care

It was gay when that cunt does it to at the end of ToB.

Not with Mazzy and Aerie.

Does Cernd have any redeeming qualities?

The problem with Sarevok is by the time he becomes available, I already have a 6 person team I like and am used to.

In 5e he'd probably be a circle of moon druid, and they are really powerful.

Every hunan except Minsc is dead!

Not really... You can mod him to make him more useful, but he's not that interesting anyway.

>Not with Mazzy
what

Attached: ladykiller.jpg (1965x1041, 452K)

>not the line about his axe
Mazzy and Korgan are probably my favorite duo for banter. Minsc worshiping Keldorn as the brave and noble hero he aspires to be is pretty nice too.

>Korgan
>not highest tier
do you even berserk?
