There's a giant capacitor that keeps the system clock in check and will leak and fuck up the motherboard.

Play with the clock capacitor first. If your Xbox isn't a motherboard revision v1.6 it's a ticking time bomb.

Original Xboxes have a capacitor in them which is used to keep power to the internal clock if the main power is disconnected. Unfortunately the capacitor Microsoft chose to use is of terrible quality and is incredibly prone to failure. One of the side effects of this failure is that the console's time and date settings get reset whenever the console loses mains power. However, an additional and much more worrying side effect of this failure is that the capacitor will almost certainly start leaking highly-acidic fluid all over your console's motherboard!!

Fortunately it's fairly easy to remove this capacitor and your Xbox will function perfectly fine without it (aside from the fact that the console will no longer store the date time settings once main power is disconnected). As you do this process, it's important you determine which version your original Xbox is. This is because different versions of console have different motherboard layouts, and you don't want to go removing the wrong capacitor!

Motherboard v1.6 doesn't have the faulty shit in it.

I'm not sure other than dead channels there are really any people bothering, the games industry's in a depression mate.
If they couldn't buy back their own shares they would probably be prepared bankrupt.
