Nah, I have all the healers leveled and I think it's easily the worst role in the game. I would play literally every other DPS or tank over a healer. I just wanted the magic title since I main BLM.
Versatility is an option, I tanked for a friend's titania learning when it was relevant, when I had cleared on BLM.

Back in the day there used to be a point to leveling other classes so you could unlock select skills to use on your other classes (eg. leveling Thaumaturge to unlock Swiftcast for your healers), but they abolished that this expansion and gave every role (tank/healer/melee/range/caster) their own set of role skills.

Let's say the raid leg gear is BIS for both the MNK and DNC in the group. The MNK is relatively geared to the teeth because she managed to get loot in later floors outside of raid hours. Who should get the leg coffer this week when it drops? The MNK who is already geared, or the DNC who is less geared? Taking into consideration how big the DPS gap between the two jobs is, which would be better for the group?

We just cleared it, my tank members say there are actual mechanics to do compared to other fights of last tier. It doesn't look that bad from a non-tank perspective though the swap can get weird and needs a shirk because the tank that needs aggro is too far from the boss to hit them at a certain point.

You can still pretend to be a big hardcore group by prioritizing dps despite dnc gaining the least out of all dps.

Well, doing the quests is good, they have a neat story and some skills are locked behind them anyway. Once you finish the SB one you don't have to do the Facet quest in ShB but you might as well if you're only 70 lmao, it's exp.
You could hit 80 and go back, that's legitimately what I did, and now I'm literally only missing 3 fish in all of ARR-SB.

It's impossible to clear e6s, I tried for 4 days to clear it, about 50 clear pulls and nothing. If party manages to get through conflag then they will most definitely fuck up tethers+air bump. Doing 0-1 chest doesn't help either.

The world is definetly a pretty mat painting like at disneyland but there are 1000 little stories aren't there? Neat characters.
I don't remember 1.0 i'm not that old but back in 2.0 everything smelled of a desire to create a beleivable world, the fools, they hadn't accepted the game's nature as a themepark yet and tried to do realistic things like recipies requireing strange unique items and merchants being decentralized, everyone wearing leather or metal, useless bars with no quests in them. Such annoyances, players were quick to ask for their removal.
Would i ever want a classic FFXIV server , no way in hell. Can you imagine it?

I don't feel the game is entirely just a themepark. The Lochs are my favorite zone in the game, for just this reason. So many interesting little things, some you can only find by swimming through the tunnels or flying.
Every zone really feels nice to explore.. wish flying wasn't really added for a lot of zones.
