AMD also has a split GPU paradigm, Arcturus GCN for compute accelerators and RDNA2 for everything else.
Advancements across basically everything AMD does can be applied almost anywhere else.
In terms of their future, heterogeneous computing is going to influence future decisions, including the GPU and CPU lines.
