Why not remake this instead?

No kidding, I would do some dark shit for a FFVI remake assuming it was in capable hands. The problem is it most likely wouldn't and these days a FFVI REmake would likely end up split into two games (one for World of Balance and the other for World of Ruin) for more shekels.

Done.

Why do people pretend to like this game so much? It's abundantly obvious to any layman that FF7 is so much better. Is it just contrarianism? You almost never see any conversation about FF6 in isolation, it's only ever mentioned in comparison to 7 or people who pretend it's amazing without explaining why or what makes it good (there is not a lot that makes it good, it's a bog standard SNES console RPG).

While FFVII is clearly hindered by the fact that it was an early PS1 game, FFVI benefited from being a late SNES game.
FFVI doesn't need a remake, the sprites are beautiful and so is the music.
But sure, you can do a remake of it, but I hate that normies might play it and no, people that played FFVI are no longer normies, they are redpilled normies.
FFVI is perfect, there's nothing to discuss, FFVII has waifu-fagging and there's video game and movie sequels to it and in general has alot more controversial stuff to it.

This. Alwasy baffles me how 6fags think their game is anything more than a bland shitfest with some reddit tier sequences and Amano art to prop it up from being entirely forgettable.

>I'm a huge FF fan, 7 da best
>why yes I do buy video games because of TV commercials and magazine ads
>da FMVs bro, yea, cinematics woo
go kys anytime drones

Final Fantasy 7 is a meme and dog shit. Having played most every game in the series to completion or near completion I can easily say that besides FF2 and the obvious later titles, it's one of the weakest games in the franchise, and it only gets worse because they keep adding to it. Atleast games like FF3 are safe because no one at square is out there saying "What if we make a prequel where was a secret 4th student we never knew about and he's the real reason why the events of FF3 happen and you get to see the Warriors of Light and talk to them and interacts with them and gives them their secret light powers which allows them to change jobs :ooo

FF7 was a good thing to happen because it's where all of Square's autism went. We're not going to see an After Years 2 because of it. It's still not a good game though.

ABSOLUTE BAIT

FF7 is a literal fucking anime.Aeris death was such a panicked attempt at gripping the player into the plot because it was getting stale at that point.

Hmmm, I can't think of one reason why the Jews at Squeenix chose FFVII

They should remake this instead, not the censored american one

That's pretty fucking sad desu.
The creators even mentioned how they were surprised by how retroactively beloved FFVI even tho it had bad sales.

>thenthored

Based. 6niggers are delusional.

What?

Because all the good aspects of VI got repurposed into VII, which is being remade
I just finished replaying them both for the first time in years and the similarities in themes/motifs and progression are striking

>It's abundantly obvious to any layman that FF7 is so much better.
Except the recently popularity polls in japan place FF6 only one rank lower than FF7

Evidently western laymen are better educated than the japanese audience.

>You almost never see any conversation about FF6 in isolation, it's only ever mentioned in comparison to 7 or people who pretend it's amazing without explaining why or what makes it good (there is not a lot that makes it good, it's a bog standard SNES console RPG).
THIS

Stop samefagging you possibly petulant nigga

>muh samefaggotry

Your lisp, retard

I'm sure they will eventually.

Wait till they announce ffv&ffvi in 3d like 3 and 4 but with more smoother 3d chibi models for the switch

Good pixel art holds up better than early 3D

I'm laughing at this dude samefagging and clearly pushing a narrative that is not popular at all in the FF community.
FFVI is alongside Chrono Trigger the undisputed best JRPGs.
No amount of nostalgia goggles will help you here, FFVII is a good game but not better than FFVI and IX

>FFVI is alongside Chrono Trigger the undisputed best JRPGs.
Speaking of nostalgia goggles.

>muh samefagging
Explain this, nigger

Its Nintendo fanboys, still salty all these years that Square jumped ship to Sony, they hype up one of the most mediocre FF games and claim that 7 ruined the series.

Can we all at least agree that the game sort of falls apart at World of Ruin

I played FFVI on the PS1 dude, pal version, without the issues

Too much soul for zoomers.

>the world literally falls apart
>becomes a truly open world game where you can literally fight the final boss with one character and finding your missing party members is optional
yes, the world of ruin is exactly what the name implies, half the population is dead, your party is all gone and you go on an adventure to find them all. There's optional dungeons which are clearly lacking in FFVII.

>where'd muh forced handhold gameplay me can only FAQ and follow guide arrow

They already said they would do VI if VII is successful. Who knows how many years that is going to take though.

Because people shouldn't care about outdated gamrs before sixth generation consoles.

Can't wait for the 12 holodisc remake of FF6 to comeout when I'm 90.

Learn how to count IPs, retard. You're the one who needs to take off your nostalgia goggles, FFVI is exactly the type of game that does NOT age well. It's time for you to accept that.
For one, it banked on muh massive scope, muh character count, muh opera scene, muh mode7 graphics, muh epic twist... All for a superficial flare designed to wow audiences at the time it came out. And it's simply not interesting anymore, on any level. The simple fact is that all FFVI did was indulge and spew its load wherever it could, without even for a second examining whether whatever it was spewing was any good. And as it turned out, not a whole lot of it was. Now, all we're left with is a product that refuses to stop wallowing in its own mediocrity, and it's truly a sad sight to see.

You do realize that you can pick up a phone and samefag with its wife and mobile data and Yea Forums detects 3 ips right

Because then people would realize that FF7's plot is copypasted from FF6 with all the names swapped around

FF9 as well

Kefka would be seen as a Joker ripoff and cashgrab

Because is Ultra overrated

You're absolutely pathetic lmao.
Look at this garbage monster design lmao
FFVII even had a FUCKING BUTTON AS AN ENEMY

>Why do people pretend to like this game so much?

This is very true. Before FF7 Final Fantasy in the west was still relatively unknown. It was a niche at best franchise and wasn't even fucking numbered properly. I don't even remember much gaming mags in the US hyping 6 at all let alone referring to it as a GOAT game like you constantly see today with the neckbearded hipsters that glorify it. Fast forward many years later and suddenly people want to act like they always knew of 6 and love using it just to voice their dislike for 7 simply because 7 is most definitely the most beloved FF game in the franchise. Its one of the most beloved games of all time so of course it will get much hate from many saying it is overrated.

I however love FF6 and think it is a great game. I just never heard of it or FF period prior to FF7. And if I did, I certainly can't remember. FF7 is called baby's first RPG for a reason.

Not an argument and arguably works in FFVII's favor.

Do you really want to see it as an episodic real time action game?

VI was my first FF (not my first RPG) and it's pretty special.

VII is definitely the better game though.

Attached: ff6_choco.jpg (400x295, 43K)

FFV did the open-world sidequest first. Once you're past the pyramid and have the airship again, you can either shoot straight for Exdeath or load up with the legendary weapons and spells.

1. Most SNES dudes bought PSones
2. FFVII is on Switch
3. You're a gay nigger

It's even bigger than vii. Can you even imagine the world and scope in 3d? no you can't. Goddamn it would be hard to make.

if they remade ff6, you'd find shit to nitpick and bitch about and ask why they didn't remake ff7 instead.

it doesnt go to shit but because its freeformed and such characters lose all dialogue and personality in it which is pretty boring.

too ambiguous for shitty modern square enix

FF6 has one of the most straightfoward stories though

>not telporting out of the ancient library to make the thrid world full open world

Attached: 3413371_p0.jpg (1241x1716, 2.4M)

huh, odd to see someone have the exact same attempt at a high res box idea, but then no idea is truly original

Attached: custom FFVI box.png (1371x954, 1.52M)

7 was my first FF and one of my first RPGs. I liked 6 a hell of a lot better

>Retroactively disliking something because Internet newbies aka Reddit talked about it.

Is it summer already?

Attached: 1580695845295.png (500x374, 209K)

I'd rather have a faithful legacy collection of the first six games.

I love that all of these responses are doing exactly what was being described by the original post. Thanks for validating these claims.
