Not too sure. They made BW1 and 2, which were good, but then gen 6 came and those games were noticably worse, but it was chalked up to the rocky transition to 3D. But every subsequent game just got worse and worse, with less shit to do. SwSh pretty much proved old Pokemon quality will never come back. They had a full sized console to deal with and they made a game that had less shit in it than the fucking 3DS games, charged more for it and had the fucking gall to make paid DLC on top of it.

Honestly, the SZ should've been replaced with something else like the Pokelathon. The rest of the Johto region is still Kantomon central. You have occasional areas like the cliff leading to the SZ but those are far and between.

I mean, credit to BW2, they're good Pokemon games, but I've always enjoyed BW1 more as a standalone Pokemon game. But yeah, something broke at Gamefreak HQ after BW2, and things just haven't recovered at all. Honestly, the fact that people actually defend SwSh is what turned me off from the series completely. We were promised a game for the hardcore old fans like me, and we get this paint by numbers penny-pinching piece of shit? I was incredulous.
I'll love gens 1-5 til I die, but I'm fucking done with this series. Fuck Gamefreak. They blew it.

Heartgold. Great length, lots of content, and extremely comfy. It has these great optional excursions to go on, like Mt. Silver or the ocean route that leads to Lugia. So in light of the main adventure that spans two regions, you still have things to do where you feel that same sense of adventure as the main story. And compared to finishing every other pokemon game, there was always so much end game content. Finding npcs I hadn't talked to yet that had items to give or battles, new routes to explore, legendaries to go get etc. In terms of graphics it's right there on par with DPP, great sprites and the world aesthetic is perfect.

I rank them as the worst games n the series.

Better than 3, on par with 4. Unlike Gen 3, 5 doesn't have any issues that seriously negate a large portion of the game like Gen 3's lack of the split. It allows for more experimentation through infinite TMS, better rivals, E4 and overworld (no agua).

I can never replay the older games because of trade evolutions. All my favorite pokemon require some bullshit ass ways to evolve.

You forgot the shit music in the remake. I was straight up disgusted when I heard the wild battle theme for the first time. The original is full of life and pizazz, the remake theme is muted in comparison. It's funny because all they basically did was change the trumpets but it has such a huge impact that its jarring. Listening from 25 seconds into each song shows a massive difference.

Sceptile sucks, but not because Leaf Blade. It got Energy Ball as a replacement, and already has high physical attack.

Unfortunately, most grass type starters are the worst of their gens balance-wise. Venusaur is the singular exception to that rule, where it was and is the best of the 3.

Those are called phenomenons and they're in the Unova region, which is the region they originated in.

The next update on the list is to make challenging dungeons to house legendary Pokemon that you can keep. They're called "legendary" for a reason, not everyone should be easily running around with all of them.

If Pokemon could breed an infinite number of times, you would just be able to dispense unlimited 6x31 Pokemon, there would be no point in working towards anything when you could just get all your Pokemon for chump change.

HG/SS could've been good if they updated the routes any. More, varied wild Pokemon, caught earlier, with shitmons like Murkrow, Houndour, Misdreavus, and etc being catchable earlier, and, for Christ's sake, fix the fucking gym leaders. Only game I know thats done this well is Dragon Quest Monsters. The Synthesis system is so damn good. You lose your two original parent monsters, but the child can come out much stronger compared to them both.

I always go back to FRLG, sometimes just to revisit the Sevii Islands, so probably that one. I find its atmosphere and artstyle the most pleasant and relaxing. I'm glad that the touhou-pokemon game used it.

Kanto doesn't even qualify as an Act 2. For the most part, it's just a bonus stage that exists only to let you play God Mode on a bunch of underleveled Trainers. Only Red and maybe Blue can provide any actual challenge.
