Because immediately after dealing with Weil, Zero decides to put himself in another coma for no reason without telling X (who is currently dealing with the fallout from the Elf Wars) and they just stuff him in what was a high-tech lab at the time. Then later on X "dies" while the higher ups start scrambling to figure out what to do and forget about Zero being in a lab somewhere. They pretty much left him there while dealing with other stuff, not that he would have helped much if they did wake him up.

After the Elf wars and dealing with Omega and Weil, Zero turned deathly afraid of someone managing to push his berserk-button resulting in him murdering half or more of what was left of the world. So he wanted to be knocked out and put through the same test procedures that X was originally put through.

The armored bunker shell he was parked in together with the equipment keeping him in suspended animation, wasn't to keep him safe from the world; it was to keep the world safe from him. Disassembling his body was an added failsafe. Even if you end up going berserk, you can't really break out and kill everyone if you don't have the arms or legs to do it.

The legends collection can probably work with just 3 games.

The difference in story presentation between Zero 1 and Zero 2 is insane. I like that Zero 2 had more cutscenes and intermissions so it could tell more of its story and build up things like the Elves and Elpizo a lot more naturally. 1 was just you protecting the Resistance with minimal story for the whole game until Zero just... finally decides to kill Copy X because why not. And they didn't even have the respect to give Copy X a cool CG.

It doesn't seem to line up with the drama tracks, though (which state that he escaped Neo Arcadia in the first place because of a Resistance attack) or the fact that he doesn't get a single mention in MMZ1 (which can just be chalked up to him having not been planned out)

I'll echo the other user, Z1 tried do do things different but it wasn't to the games overall benefit. 1 is extremely rough. the music is lackluster with much shorter loops and levels to go with that being much less varied. it has a goofy retry system and the boss patterns are much more simplistic. its good for a start like how mega man 1 classic was rough around the edges but 2-3 up the ante hard. That said the controls should feel crisp already

Zero 1 is just a flawed masterpiece to me. When you try to really get good at it, it shines. You should know that getting an EX skill depends on what rank you have going into the mission, not what rank you actually get for beating it. So if you don't think you can get A ranks in any of the boss missions, pick the one with your favorite EX skill first.

So what are the conditions for returning bosses? I've gone through three missions so far and haven't had Hivolt show up again yet, but I know you start getting a bunch of messages for them after a while.

FX is broken as hell. Easily destroys all the mini bosses in both ZX and ZX Advent, wrecks the last phase of ZX's final boss, and the first phase of ZX Advent's final boss. Leganchor & Lurerre are also jokes with FX.

If you're playing Zero 1, then the train boss is the only time the buster is relevant after getting the Z-Saber.

Of the first four starting bosses, Phoenix's rising slash is probably the most interesting since it's a saber move while the others are Buster moves. The snake boss's laser shot is probably the most useful since it's a direct upgrade that goes through shields. The polar bear's splitting ice shot is alright. The panther's splitting electric shot is garbage.

Fire doesn't have the stun/freeze effect of the other two, so I guess if you use them a lot, yeah.

Active, X, and Power forms were the only ones I used. Ultimate Form is really just there after you've captured all the EX Skills.

True, didn't think of that. Still, going through shields feels more useful than the other ones. The first form of the final boss likes to block a lot.

1. Rank isn't mandatory.
2. Depending on the rank you're aiming for and how well you're doing in every other area you can get away with a retry.

I'm doing a run of Z4 using nothing but the Z-Knuckle/Buster soon. I'm going to actually give the thing a try, and see if it can change my opinion on it. Being able to nab enemy weaponry is pretty based, though

Then you'd have a ton of really busted weapons, because there's a lot of stuff you can snatch that is plain powerful. It's funny though, because someone said the A-Trans should have been reserved strictly for the Guardians, and Model ZX. The Pseuderoids should have had abilities copied for the Biometal forms. Might have been a thread ago.

I find that people would have been more receptive of the Knuckle, had the Shield, and Rod weapons returned. A lot of people seemingly missed those weapons.

Yes, it was a lot of fun to try and get it orbiting around you. But I also used the Triple Rod.

I like if for lore reasoning. Zero's original body, Omega, has a Zero Knuckle of his own. After fighting him in Z3, Zero ends up gaining said ability in Z4.

Make it so that using the Knuckle weapon drains energy like X's special attacks. Either that or scale their powers down a bit. X8 gave Zero all sorts of weird sub-weapons, I don't see how this is any harder.

It's useful against the Guard Hydra boss in Zero 1 if you have an A or S Rank fighting it. Also it's good for the flame spewing enemies that barely stop and have their shield facing you, and there's little to no room on the outside.

I've seen a lot of Japanese players, or skilled players in general abuse the Shield Boomerang for combo potential. It apparently cucks invincibility frames or something.

It's called a shield, but it's actually a beam shuriken which is fucking cool so yes, my easily excitable self used it a lot.

Reminder that Z-Knuckle lets you grab an iron pipe and swing it around.
That along makes it the best subweapon in the series.

Big trivia hours, the Z-Knuckle has 54 abilities it can copy

Its not enough to brag about but its hard imagining shaving an entire 35 seconds off of this and watching the number 1 run seeing them make frequent mistakes makes me hope the stages will cycle so I don't get left behind so soon.

I never really used the Z-knuckle as a weapon, but I like that it let's you hang off objects. It makes for some fun platforming in the first Ragnarok level.

people dont like ammo/durability based weapons, also lets be honest here almost all of the weapons you can get fucking sucks.
I love it as a secondary weapon but i can see why people would hate it, if you arent just messing around or using it for the bosses gimmicks its useless.

They never do. In the Japanese version they're called Mythoids which makes a bit more sense.

most of the girls are meant to be a love interest for the MC so it kinda grows on you. Its like the gf/childhood friend you can always count on.

I don't know what to tell you user, literally just work on getting better at the game and you will see that 2 is probably the hardest one but its design lets you fly through stages. Also its an action platformer so some memorization is in order. What stage are you having some trouble with right now?

said don't mash dash if you don't know where the wheels are going to be. when you see one just dash backwards jump then fly over it and you are good. you can also charge saber and just fly through them but I don't know if you have that yet.
