What's up with the green walls/smoke/powers/whateverthefuck?
"Hey let's play a game, except half the time you can't see shit"

Counterstrike but Magic was done better by Shadowrun anyway

Looks like Counterstrike but with unnecessary 'SUPER EPIC SPECIAL ABILITIES' and the smoke bomb is replaced with 'rainbow barf' bomb.
The masses will eat that shit up though.

No because i hate pvp games nowadays

>but with unnecessary 'SUPER EPIC SPECIAL ABILITIES
You have no idea how bad it will get

>Phoenix
>Hot Hands - Throw a fireball that explodes after a delay or upon impact with the ground. The fire zone damages enemies, and heals you.
>Ultimate Ability: Run it Back - Mark your current location. If you die during this ability’s duration, or when this ability’s duration expires, you’ll be reborn at the marked location with full health.

>Viper
>Ultimate: Viper’s Pit - Emit a massive toxic cloud in a large area that lasts as long as Viper stays inside the cloud. Enemies inside the cloud are highlighted to Viper.

>Sova
> Owl Drone - Deploy a pilotable drone that can fire a dart that will Reveal enemies who are hit.
>Signature Ability: Recon Bolt - Fire a bolt that deploys a sonar emitter. The sonar pings tag nearby enemies, causing them to be revealed. Can be destroyed.

>Cypher
>Free Ability: Trapwire - Place a stealthed tripwire between two walls. Triggering enemies are restrained and revealed for a short time. If the trap is not destroyed, it activates to daze the trapped victim. Can be picked up.
>Ultimate: Neural Theft- Extract information from the corpse of an enemy, revealing the location of their living allies.

>Sage
> Signature Ability: Healing Orb - Heal an ally or yourself to full health over a few seconds.
>Ultimate: Resurrection- Target a friendly corpse. After a short delay, revive them with full health.

>Omen
> Paranoia - Send out an Ethereal shadow in a straight line, Nearsighting anyone it touches.
>Signature Ability: Dark Cover - Cast out a stealthed ethereal orb that bursts into an obscuring sphere of shadow at its final location. Can be charged to increase distance.
>Ultimate: From the Shadows - Select anywhere on the map to teleport and reform. When arriving, appear as a Shade, that will go back to your original location if killed. Once the teleport is complete, become Incorporeal for a short time.

Looks fun, as long as the gameplay stays more along the CS side of things than OW I'm down.

It amazes me how people insist in mentioning CS and Overwatch when it's way more similar to rainbow six siege.

Do you people even play videogames anymore?

NOBODY played rainbow six siege

>characters too different to compete with CS
>characters too homogenized to compete with OW
When devs fail to commit to a certain idea and try to stay middle ground, they always fail. Also Riot is spreading themselves thin trying to enter a whole bunch of different genres and half-assing all of them.

wow this sounds like shit

and now it's being played more than ever

You are fucking insane. I've played both Siege and CS:GO for 100+ hours and that is literally CS with SOULLESS graphics and shitty Overwatch elements.

If they release 8 games and 1 of them is half as successful as LoL then they've made bank. I'm just glad they are actually TRYING shit.

Legends of Runeterra is so superior to hearthstone it's not even funny.

>chinkshit
nope

Attached: 1582764364916.gif (400x342, 309K)

>literally a counter strike clone down to the tea but with magic
sounds neat on paper but it's doomed to fail because any cs game has a giant cheater problem

It took Overwatch a couple of years and several patches/reworks to get this level of visual clutter that Riot already accomplished in Alpha. Truly amazing.

Attached: 1583157159546[1].jpg (1980x1085, 259K)

Valorant is a stupid name

I'd rather just play CS.

>tactical shooter
>heroes with special abilities
Pick one.

You're fucking stupid if you think Valorant is supposed to compete directly with CS:GO.

CS:GO hasn't been able to penetrate eastern markets, no one plays cs:go in korea, china, SEA, or India, they play Crossfire, which is the world's most profitable shooter by a massive margin.

All Valorant has to do is succeed marginally in Europe and America and absolutely kill it in Asia by unseating Crossfire and Riot will have the next biggest shooter in the world on their hands.

No it's not Siege is all about the multi dimentional destructible maps
I fucking wish a competent company would tackle Siege because fuck Ubi

Only interested in that fighting game they are making

>0.02 cents have been deposited to your account
Stop shilling your shit fucking game. The market is oversaturates enough as it is. It's DOA no matter how mucj you shill.

It’ll be hot trash that the Riot crowd will eat right up. I have 2 friends who hate Overwatch, CS, and R6S and they are hyped for this for some inexplicable reason.

Not with this kind of trash gameplay they won't

Crossfire isn't exactly high art my dude, it's not hard to beat and most of China, Korea, and SEA have Riot's launcher on their computers. These people are going to be trying Valorant, which is more than CS:GO ever accomplished in Asia. If Valorant takes off in Asia it'll do well in the west as well.

Thing is that you could say the same about LoL yet look at it.

>If they release 8 games and 1 of them is half as successful as LoL
But that is very unlikely, especially with their output so far. LoL worked cause it was a free game in a new growing genre. One that happens to appeal both to casual and hardcore players well. They did largely rip everyone else off but you can get away with that when things are new. Trying to do that same process with more established genres, that have different appeals, different audiences and different requirements doesn't work. Everyone will just go oh this is X poorly mixed with other games and it looks like a phone game. Valorant especially feels like such a Chinese knock off with how overt it is

Their only bet is an OWL pay to keep the life support on, which doesn't work out in the long run

Attached: 146964-223828-223827_rc.jpg (832x468, 108K)

reminds me of combat arms, crossfire, sudden attack, and all those f2p cs clones, except it somehow manages to be uglier. the spumoni smokes are kinda weird too.

You're failing to understand the point. Valorant can't commit to a niche. They try to go two ways and each negates the other. Different abilities prevent every selected couple of players to be entirely on the level, where only the skill can decide the outcome. But at the same time all characters working with the same loadout options prevent them to truly be unique in their role. The game will be a clustrfuck and nobody will have a good time.

>CS:GO hasn't been able to penetrate eastern markets, no one plays cs:go in korea, china, SEA, or India
Somebody doesn't follow Asian CS at all.

At least LoL has some credibility to its design and gameplay, sure now its shit, but for years it had uniqueness to it nothing else had.
Its extremely sterile and clusterfuck now but it started with something else.

This is just trash from start.

The Ghost in the Shell FPS that failed recently actually looked better than this

>Not an arena shooter
>CS with powers instead
Fuckkkk

Halo Infinite when? I just want an arena shooter with movement that isn’t autistic

asian people don't like fps I heard amerifat developers constantly say when they ram FPS down the burgers throat to reinforce the stereotype

Attached: article-1280x720.e8ea57bc.jpg (1280x720, 152K)

>character based
Why are you faggots comparing this to CS. The entire point of CS is that every player has the same options for weapons and items, isn't this closer to overwatch?

>Valorant can't commit to a niche
I'm failing to see the niche here, Crossfire is just as bad ass Valorant when it comes to having unequal odds in rounds. This game doesn't have to succeed in the west to be the biggest FPS game ever made, it needs to be better than Crossfire, which is a low bar, and needs the backing of a major Chinese company, which it does, Tencent. Add to the fact that League is the most played game in Korea and China, so almost everyone in both countries already has the Riot launcher installed, there's little chance of this game not being big in either country.

Because TTK is more similar to CS that to Overwatch.
If it crashes and burns then fuck it, but I'm amazed at how Yea Forums often complains about the industry being stagnant as fuck then call anything dead in the water because of not being so simliar to other things

Looks like absolute dogshit and I won't be surprised if it dies out in less than 4 months after its initial release.

> Also Riot is spreading themselves thin trying to enter a whole bunch of different genres and half-assing all of them.

Pretty much this.
There making a dozen games but none of them look like they're going to be high quality, let alone anything close to AAA tier.
The card game is pretty good for what it is and their upcoming animated shows look great, but everything else is looking like low-budget shit.

I can already see how it'll go
>teamplay is impossible because everybody can theoretically play carry
>because everybody tries to do it, people who would like teamplay give up and also go carry
>meta hero-loadout with highest average damage is determined
>everybody starts playing it
>Riot panics and starts nerfing both hero and the weapons
>it only fucks other heroes who won't work without those weapons
>Riots starts jumping back and forth with nerfs and buffs
>people don't want to relearn meta every two weeks

Huh, is that why CS:GO doesn't appear anywhere in the top 15 for Chinese and Korean earnings but Crossfire is constantly either number two or three and earns over 1.5 billion a year?

5v5 round based game with fast ttk and no respawns during rounds. You also need to purchase your guns at the start of the round.
Gee why would people compare it to CS?

the diablo clone looked really good for the 5 seconds of footage we got but it's not even remotely close to release

The problem is precisely that it is too similar to other things. Copying two different games at the same time is not an innovation.

Art style looked like mobile trash to me. High-polished mobile trash, but still mobile trash.

N-nobody plays it. No that doesn't count!
Way to move the goal posts retard.

You're retarded, the abilities don't increase your damage and you still die in a few shots from guns. The meta will be whatever gives your team the most utility while also giving your team the ability to cover up mistakes. I.E. The healer that can full heal once per round and revive a teammate

>it needs to be better than Crossfire
That isn't how this stuff works, being the better game doesn't instantly make you bigger. If the bugs are happy enough playing their shitty game then they won't move on. Especially when what you are trying to push on them is half a style of shooters they don't even like. The other user is right, they've taken two niches (tactical shooters and hero shooters) and mashed them together for an unsatisfactory middle ground. Not giving either side what they wants. This is not a replacement for Crossfire cause the appeal is different. So unless Crossfire players want to quit they won't even look that way to begin with, and if they do they'll see a bastard child that doesn't scratch either itch.

Plus your whole idea is based on taking China numbers seriously.

Does anyone else have this weird uncanny feeling where the graphics / art style don't match the gameplay at all?

The UI and gunplay is all clearly counter-strike inspired with what looks to be set recoil patterns and weapon mechanics but it all feels so stunted and weird when applied to this magical / animated art style.

It literally looks like a counter-strike overhaul mod with random magic spells.

This has to be the most uninspired """"esports""" game ever to be made

>playing a round of notCSGO
>gather enough money to buy my ultimate ability
>the map is now shrek's swamp
10/10 game of the year

it legitimately looks like overwatch characters were dropped into a different game, nothing fits

That's basically how I feel, the floating knives completely conflict with the realistic looking guns that everyone else is using. Also the terrible smoke spew stuff. Just make it normal smoke for fucks sake.

>chinkshit copy of counter strike looks like counter strike with chinkshit character models
it all checks out

do you guys not remember league of legend's awful art ?

lmao they straight up copied the CS weapon switch animations

I didn't move the goal posts, CS:GO has little influence in China and Korea, that was the original point, you claimed it did, it doesn't, Crossfire is the shooter of choice in Asia and has been for years. It makes more money than CS:GO does by a massive margin and continues to grow year after year despite being a game that handles and plays like shit.

It is TF2 artists trying to make a somewhat serious sci-fi look but it also has to be OW/Moba-esque. Not exactly an inspired style but like everything else feels like a copy. That's the big issue here, nothing sticks out as unique, maybe at times small improvements but nothing special.

they should've just used lol characters and give them guns.

Attached: file.png (587x562, 106K)

I do but I'd assume Riot at least knew what smoke looked like.

>counter strike X overwatch
WHY?

>nobody plays it
>people do
>claim it doesn't count
How is that not moving the goal posts?

>Plus your whole idea is based on taking China numbers seriously.

Crossfire's estimated income via western companies like Superdata still puts it in the top 3 for global earners.

>That isn't how this stuff works, being the better game doesn't instantly make you bigger. If the bugs are happy enough playing their shitty game then they won't move on
What I mean by 'better' is a game that plays better and has a better user experience. Crossfire is essentially a stitched together monster composed of Counter Strike and whatever dumb shit the developers want to add to the game. If Riot makes a game that feels like counter strike but plays smoother than Crossfire and has the backing of Tencent, they'll succeed.

> Especially when what you are trying to push on them is half a style of shooters they don't even like
and which half is that? The Counter Strike side or the Hero Shooter side? Because Crossfire literally has the same imbalanced garbage mechanics in it, just not in the hero shooter paint.

You can tell that Riot wasn't willing to take any creative risks at all and straight-up took the most generic, mass-marketed aspects from various games and slapped them together, hoping it would all work out. As a result, nothing sticks out in a remotely appealing or good way. Which is weird, considering that Riot's art department is actually pretty fucking good at what they do. But this game just looks completely soulless at its core.

Everyone will play it for a week or two then it will be empty

I guess I'll concede, yeah, CS:GO has a minority stake of players in Asia, and has nearly nothing when compared to its garbage chinese clone, Crossfire.

It's not moving the goalpost because he was being figurative, you literal autist. It was a piece of hyperbole to highlight how irrelevant the game is to the region.

>EVERY hero has either a wallhack, a revive or both
>weapons still have rng spread and bullets not going center
>blind
>slow
>stun
>dot damage on the ground

Why didn't all ya y'all faggots play Dirty Bomb when it was popular and you let it die? It's a thousand times better than this shit.

When I said nobody plays it I didn't mean it!
Fuck off you lying cuck.

Dirty bomb was ass
Fuck class based shooters

If someone wanted to buy the shadowrun game and source code from MS, how much do you think that would cost?

POGGERS

Attached: valorant.jpg (1180x966, 574K)

Not him but you're an absolute faggot. Move past the semantics and stop pretending you didn't understand what he meant.

it was shit
it was f2p
it had mtx

I don't know how people could actually play it, it felt so cheap and clunky.

Imagine being this mad you got BTFO.

Then what is? New things are never completely new, they are just doing old things with a twist.

>it had mtx
Literally every F2P shooter has a retarded skin shop though?

The game so good it flopped immediately.

Faggots and artists make me seethe. Should be put down like dogs.

>What I mean by 'better' is a game that plays better and has a better user experience
That doesn't contradict my point at all, it is just the same point again. Let me break it down for you in simpler terms. For change to happen Crossfire players must want to move on. They aren't even going to try this so will never know it is better, and wouldn't care anyway cause they've already committed so much to another game. People do not just move to the best game on the market, often the best never find an audience.

>Because Crossfire literally has the same imbalanced garbage mechanics in it, just not in the hero shooter paint.
Cause it isn't a hero shooter you retard, that is the part they clearly aren't looking for. You can say well it is shitty in other ways, but if the players are happy to deal with it then that doesn't matter. Nobody wants your brap grenades, they have mixed with a niche Crossfire players clearly are not looking for.

>Crossfire's estimated income via western companies
Which will get data from China, who lie

The reception on Baidu and Mop has been pretty positive and the reaction on the League subreddit has been surprisingly positive as well. I don't speak Korean so I can't say anything about their side of the net, but Chinese living in China seem to like what they're seeing bro.

This game doesn't need to do amazingly well in America or Europe to succeed. I'd argue you can see that in League of Legends, which has fallen out of favor in America but continues to thrive in Asia and Europe.

Sounds like CS with some OW sprinkled on top to mix things up. I’m pretty excited but I feel this is really aimed at the Asian market and who can blame them

You don't play Crossfire and you have no idea how Crossfire plays, so the argument you're trying to have is moot.

I don't play chinkshit. Looks like a kind of interesting setting though. Very weird mishmash of fantasy and slight sci-fi, but I doubt it'll resonate with normalfags.

Yeah fuck those sheeple. Now I'm going to /vp/, the board that was created specifically because this one had too many pokemon threads.

You're literally incapable of grasping figurative speech.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperbole
I don't mean this as an insult: you probably have autism, it's a major symptom.

Attached: 35ip.png (273x54, 3K)

>playing non-vr shooters
cringe

I did. The card system was fucking retarded and the LoL F2P system was aids. Everything else was great

Attached: Untitled.png (1134x390, 993K)

it's alpha fucktard

Attached: 1576785288069.jpg (489x738, 145K)

>competitive games
>has built in wallhack ability
I guess I'll stick to CS for another 20 years.

Attached: 1561766943893.jpg (600x568, 31K)

You literally have autism don’t you? I appreciate it’s probably hard for you to get outside but I think you’d be able to work on yourself a lot better if you went and socialised with people instead of posting on here.

You might not come across as so retarded then

launches summer 2020

I did and still do from time to time but come on now, there's no way it would get popular with that shit f2p model

Why does every competitive shooter need hero abilities now?

>streamers
Into the trash it goes

too bad they didn't copy the much better animations from 1.6/source

the screen cap doesn't say alpha?

Wow, it looks like a chinese cs bootleg. Same animations and all

OW seemed like a hit a few years back so we are seeing all the copies finally emerge

Literally just ask Phil Spencer on Twitter he'll probably give it away for free

Name a shooter whose pre-launch build isnt superior to the full game

jesus fuck how through how many iterations that dialog went through to make it in the video sounds so fucking fake yet people are saying how authentic it sounds, reminds me of ubisoft presenting that mmo shooter crap

It is going to go from alpha to a full game by summer? I bet you think when games have a beta test just before launch that it is actually in beta. No it looks like shit cause as they plastered on the website it is meant to run on a toaster.

>he's still booty blasted for being BTFO.

I did. Then they made the Revivr inaccurate.

bets on lifespan? the only metric we'll have consistently publicly available is twitch viewer numbers after release, so I'll arbitrarily set failure at below 5k viewers considering the level of development and promotion behind this
I give it 14 days until the game can't break 5k viewers anymore

Attached: f4d.png (469x350, 150K)

I did though and I didn't stop playing until sometime before Turtle's release.

Attached: Bandit dissapointed.jpg (540x360, 40K)

I feel like it will hang around 10k for a while cause some big streamers/pros get paid to stick around. But it is more of a stillbirth where you never really hear about it until some LoLbaby tells you that it is super big in China. There is so little public interest, I haven't seen any porn yet and that is a bad sign.

I'm just going to assume that you don't know a whole lot about Crossfire, but Crossfire has what is essentially two sequels releasing as full games 'soonish' in China. There's literally not a better time to release a competitor than now.

it'll be at a paladins tier playerbase in under a year

>there's no way it would get popular with that shit f2p model
Why?

Loadout depending on random drops is a dumb idea

valorant more like valodon't

Alpha has become simply a marketing term for "don't judge our game, it might be better in the future, so buy it now".

This game will be another proof that Yea Forums doesn't play vidya and has no insight on the industry. You guys are so fucking clueless it literally hurts.

Attached: tooqqfz5xjufdik1wvqh.jpg (552x414, 37K)

The other guy is right dude sorry

I can only imagine the seething on Yea Forums when this game releases and has more players and makes more money than cs

>more players
crazier things have happened
>makes more money
literally impossible

Shure zoomers and riot drones will jump on it on release but I don't think it's possible to make balanced game like CS without years of fine tuning, player feedback and competitive data.

You could get the exact loadout you wanted in 2-3 games with in-game currency, are you still going off that one retarded Angry Joe video where he described it wrong and basically killed the game because morons kept repeating it?

I played the game a lot and know it's not a big problem
It's just that I can totally see why newbies wouldn't stick with it

I wanted a Shadowrun clone, this looks like bullshit.

Can someone explain why Crossfire is popular in Asia?

Is free and runs on everything

It's basically CS, runs on toasters, and you can buy statistically better weapons with real money.

It's unironically looks like dogshit
Yikes and hard pass from me

Why does Asia love pay to win?

RPG mods for CS have always been incredibly lame. I just don't see what's really going to get people into this as opposed to CS. If the TTK was higher than CS and the movement a bit more fluid I could see it having a place but right now it just looks like glitter bombed CS.
Even the backing of Riot and their love for esports isn't in it's favor because CS is already one of the biggest esports in the world.

it's free, runs on shit hardware, has a billion different game modes,it's P2W, and it features a bunch of semi-competitive modes, some that have hero-ability like modifiers in them like Valorant does.

Cope

for a game that's about to release in 3 months

Why does it look so shit? I thought Riot was a billion dollar company?

This barely looks like a AAA title.

I miss wc3 mod for cs 1.6 anons, was way better than this shit will ever be too

it has to run on third world computers, it needs to be able to run on a phone eventually.

they don't, they love free games because they are poor and free means other means of getting money which is usually pay to win or pay to get characters/items.

i did my part
phantom did threw me off for a long while though

Attached: 3468.jpg (524x96, 18K)

Chinks are terrible at FPS games, this game will only be popular in America and EU

>Casual abilities so the "hardcore/tactical" crowd wont be interested
>Too many mechanics for casuals
>Basically csgo artstyle but with magic powers thrown in
>Hero shooter market was saturated 2 years ago
>All while forcing a meta and pushing for esports tier very hard
What a fucking disaster

I quit when they added phantom
fuck that shit

The important thing to take from the failure of the hero shooter genre is that people prefer to just fucking shoot things and be rewarded for shooting things.
Overwatch became a numbers game about overcoming tanks and fapping around while waiting for big ultimate moves, rather than the fast-paced intensity of CS or TF2's skirmishes.

This leans closer to FPS action, but like others have said, constant visual obscuring is going to hurt it in the long run.

Attached: 1582521691895.jpg (1280x712, 96K)

cliffy must be revolting in his wife's grave right now kek.

>"competitive"
>heals
>revives
>ebin abilities

I can't, I stuck with it and it was not a big deal, but I see people repeating shit from a completely wrong Angry Joe review where he said that you had to pay money to get full loadouts and were stuck with cards that didn't have all the skills if you were F2P, so I thought that's what you were implying. I think that one single statement hurt the game more than any dev blunder (and there were many of those).

>they don't
They actually do though.

Nah. I've found myself liking FPS games less and less overtime. They're is hardly ever enough to set them apart anymore. It's a bloat genre with little to no innovation. FPS games are pretty shit.

This shit looks boring as fuck and doesn't appeal to CS players nor OW players.
I guarantee you this will flop.

don't underestimate riotdrones, they're worse than blizzdrones
meanwhile blizzdrones can keep even overwatch alive and diablo immortal forgiven

imagine the viper brap r34
