Arc games have an extra 3 frames of lag on PC vs PS4. You can get it down to just 1 extra frame with some driver level tinkering but it's still the worst way to play them in every way.

I'm not really up for that since I have no interest in GBV. I wanted to play Zeta because none of the other characters interested me but if Zeta is considered weak than I'd rather not.
And it's not entirely because of tier lists either, but how generally basic the game seems. It's not like I'm struggling for a gimmick but not too many of the moves even feel cool enough for me to struggle with because the satisfaction just isn't there. I can bother to play low tiers in other games if they just "feel" good and cool to play but not even Zeta can scratch that itch even if I want to use her twintails as handlebars.
I'm exactly that type of autists who loves his combos and showboating over opponents so that part of what I look for in fighting games isn't be appealed to for GBV

Because it is three hundred people on the entire planet. Most of them probably aren't in your region so you can't play them thanks to the mediocre netcoding. Once you filter out outside regions, you then have to realize not all these people are playing whatever mode you are (ranked, lobbies, single player, training mode, etc..) After that, you have to realize most of them aren't going to be near you in Ranked. With numbers this small, you end up fighting a lot of the same people over and over again.

I was in the middle of trying to get my first Eternal before quitting so I know I need some of these random garbage weapons and summons for that progression. Are there any N rarity summons or weapons I should keep? I know if they have a +1 I can use them to upgrade stuff I want, but other than that are they disposable? Same with SRs. I have a bunch of random SR weapons from what I assume to be events because they are fish and other weird stuff. I also have seven of the SSR summon "Grendel" and have no idea what I should do with him.

Lowain needs a third super that is just a combo ender like everyone else has since both Yggy and HPA are feast or famine moves depending on how the other player knows what to do. He is also terrible online because he needs to confirm off of random hits and his unique action is half useless because pretty much everyone gets 2 supers in a match if it's not completely one sided. Then he has no real big damage combos since he basically has one special that can be used midcombo. If characters could turn 1/4 of their meter into an ex move without a cooldown Lowain would be great.

If you aren't familiar with a character than all you can do is base it off of their design, weapon, and moveset. When you have so many bland sword fighters in this game of course people are going to be interested in Narmaya. There is nothing inherently worse about being attractive to her as a reason to want to try her. That's why characters have memorable designs. It's not worse or better than someone picking a character because they are THE BIG GUY character or THE GRAPPLER character.

She is from a tactical standpoint. Execution wise you have 2 barriers, Kire Tatami and TK Yozansen. Kire Tatami corner pressure is the go to tool for opening people up so thats a priority. In terms of overall gameplay, you better know how to do big brain reads and convert off CH Sakura asap. Her Azami is bullshit that starts from frame 1 but knowing when to use it to get into your opponents head is different.

Surprisingly yes for an arcsys initial release. You have overtuned characters like Gran and Kat but theyre not super oppressive.

She needs a different mindset to be played optimally, which is why I wouldn't ever call her a beginner friendly or simple character. In the previous games, Baiken and Anji both have such a unique gimmick to them that it really changes how you play them and fight against them in general.

TK Yozansen is dumb on pad., especially when facing right. P2 side is easy. Doing it from 5P is easier due to the blockstun, but doing it from a run is harder.

You only need a select few buttons to play Anji properly. Using his taunt and 6P to throw people off is enough to open people up. I guess execution wise you only have impossible dust combos to learn

Hard to say, i've seen plenty of solid anime over the years where the mangafags were insufferable about any and all deviations from the manga, but i've also seen some really bad adaptations over the years.
I think it's hard for some people to maintain an unbiased view of a work they've read before and the fact that they already know all the punchlines to the jokes and the like makes them spend the entire anime looking for flaws, like you might do on a rewatch of something. But people who haven't read the manga just enjoy the ride and most of the "flaws" are minor nitpicks at best.

Does anyone else think the character's ultimate moves are a little too long? I find myself disliking cinematic super moves more and more especially as they have creeped into most fighting games. I'll always prefer the way SF3 did it. I felt that was the perfect length for a super move animation. Almost all the ones in Xrd were nice and short too. Some of these seem like they will get really annoying after awhile.

This has been a complaint for a long time and yes, even GBVS has issues with how long supers can get. Doubly so when it's very possible that something like a SSBA won't kill the opponent so you sit through 7 seconds of cutscene and the match has to continue after that.

Yeah I haven't played the game yet so I don't know what the condition is, but it seems like some super moves have an extended cutscene. Those are the ones I'm complaining about. In general the supers seem fine, but those are definitely pushing it. I remember when they had to reduce the length of the nurse ninja in Skullgirl's super move because people complained about that one. I feel like these are mostly just to show off in trailers or attract people who haven't played them, but once you've seen them they get old fast. Then again it is the Japanese so maybe they don't care. Somehow Super Robot Wars is still going and that franchise is basically a youtube watching simulator.

But they have a bit of a point given how the launch of fighting games work. How the fighting game is early on often had a lasting impact on it. If the game is having server issues like DBZ and SFV, it is salveable because people know eventually it will work. But when the game's netcoding is trash like with KoFXIV, people lose hope in it early on. It has gotten to the point now to where I think a lot of people won't buy Japanese made fighting games without hearing about the netcoding first. I know I'm growing weary of Arcs fighters. It isn't so much the netcoding, which sucks but is playable, but the interface. I hate the avatar lobby stuff. It is so inefficient for matchmaking. I just want to be able to go to a menu and press Quick Match and fight random people without any weird pseudo social community building nonsense. If I want a lobby experience, I can make a lobby. SFV has the ideal interface for me., I wish every fighting game did it just like that.

But at the same time people have to realize that the people complaining about the netcoding end up being the vocal minority. The only game off the top of my head that hard died because of its netcoding in recent years was Dissidia, but that is because it was 100% peer to peer in a 3v3 game with no real matchmaking options.

As for what you're saying, I don't agree. People are basically saying that they won't buy something without X. They aren't saying that they will buy all things with X. I know food analogies are forbidden, but think of it like MSG. A lot of people refuse to eat at restaurants that use MSG. This doesn't mean they will go to all restaurants that advertise that they don't use MSG. They don't want to reward restaurants just because they don't use MSG. They do however want to punish those that do.

I was a little too vague there. I mostly meant SNK and Arcs. That being said, I feel like those two games helped create this thought process because I didn't see this ROLLBACK OR NO BUY mentality creep up so heavily until recently. I'm sure DBZ helped create this annoyance for people because it had so many issues with its servers and lobbies early on. It is also really hard to make use of some of its cool features like the 3v3 mode because of the lobby system. Dragonball's success was definitely mostly just because of the IP. I know for me it was more of a recent thing where I just got so fed up with it because I got tired of hopping onto certain fighting games (like Guilty Gear) and having to search through all the random world lobbies and rooms and such just to finally get a match that has horrible netcoding. I got sick of trying to improve in SFV only to be fighting the netcoding half the time. I got sick of Samsho giving me people with 1 bars even when I set it to 4 only. I have an affection for the GBF IP and intend to just sell the codes to fund this game, but I'm near my breaking point like a lot of people. I want to see real change soon.

Most of them will drop her for someone easier in a few days probably. This always happens with female characters in fighting games. Everyone flocked to Baiken, Hilde, every SFV female, etc.. when they come out but then they shift back toward characters that they win with more.

that's not what objective means. almost no games have "objectively bad netcode" a 3-4 frame connection is fine as long as you aren't a shitter who needs to blame something that affects both players equally for why he lost. The only time netcode is actually an issue is when someone's on wifi so there's stuttering.

Well for regular fighting game standards she probably isn't an issue, but stance based characters will always filter out a huge chunk of players. A lot of people find even Zeku in SFV difficult because of it.

The evokers were something cygames had been wanting to add to the game after the original Arcarum failed to take off in 2016. And I bet the game would still be active even if they're still being in limbo.
