I couldn't finish TLG. I'll try to come back to it someday.

How come? Controls/Trico frustrate you?

That and the placement of the TV back in my old crammed apartment which made it more tiring I think I'll use a walkthrough instead of going blind like last time.

+ Doom, Super Metroid
Respect everything else. Ocarina is on my list of "classics I need to play". Same with Final Fantasy, but I'm not sure which one, and Castlevania: but I'm planning to play Rondo.

Respect your taste.
Love Yoko Taro, and have played Gravity Rush 2. Very beautiful game. I feel somewhat obligated to play a Pokemon one day.

+ FFXIV
- Kotor 2
I enjoyed Red Dead Redemption 1, respect FFX, respect P4:G (although I prefer Persona 4 myself). My dislike of Kotor II comes from general Star Wars fatigue. I think the gameplay, the envrionments, and the tone of the story were great, but I'm losing my taste for Star Wars. rip.

+ Portal 2
- Bloodborne
People never understand me when I say I think Bloodborne's level design was lazy compared to Dark Souls, but that's my opinion.
Respect this taste though, and am eager to play Rain World. Been looking into it and seems right up my alley.
Batman Returns is based.
Haven't played any of these games, but highly respect this taste.
Custom Robo, Fragile Dreams, TWEWY, and Majora's Mask are on my list.
Oh wait, I have played Cave Story and some Persona 4 ...

what's gunpoint about?

>what's gunpoint about?
It's basically a short, wacky ''infiltration'' sidescroller game. The Mark of the Ninja comparison the other user made is pretty accurate, but the levels are much shorter and it's much more like a puzzle game than a stealth game. The two main mechanics are being able to jump high and being able to ''crosslink'' electronic things anywhere, like linking a light switch to a door so the door will open when you flip the switch. It doesn't take long to complete, but it's a game that I find myself coming back to.

But why?

Attached: 3x3.jpg (1280x1280, 411K)

The N64 had such an unwieldy control scheme that it put me off from 3D Zelda entirely. I was never a fan of Nintendo's unorthodox controller style, and that carried well into the Switch era. 2D Zelda is based though. Especially LA/DX, Oracles and LttP.

>thinking of getting into XIV, I have a RL friend who plays it. Is it worth getting into now?
Yes, I'd say it's in the best state it's ever been in! And it's even better playing with people you know, so I think you're in a damn good spot.
What I will say is that the base game is pretty plain from a plot standpoint; you may wish to skip it and get straight to the expansions- and can for an additional fee- but I would personally advise against it if you want to experience the game's plot to its fullest. It'd be something akin to skipping to Route C in Automata and starting from there; you'd lack necessary setup and buildup for future events to have real impact.
I think that if you have the patience for something like a Persona game, I'd wholeheartedly recommend it.

>but which fucking monhun?
MH4U is my favorite, but I just mean the series in general. I'll update my 3x3 with 4U soon.

Really tempted right now, but having to buy the game and pay for a sub is kind of off-putting. I've also heard about the MSQ grind, and I'm not really looking forward to that, then again, I am no stranger to slogging through grinds, as I played lots of RO in the past. Is the combat fun? As you might be able to tell from my 3x3 I value gameplay above else and people keep praising XIV's story and music, but I rarely hear lots of praise about its combat.

>4U
Turbo-based

Attached: 1579197135201.png (520x600, 290K)

What I'd recommend for a newcomer is to play it off and on if you have a friend; if you really want to get to the good stuff, put your nose to the grindstone and it'll be over faster than most people would probably have you think, but I believe the game's at its best if you play it at a casual pace.
>Is the combat fun?
The only DPS classes I have real experience with are Red Mage and Samurai, so I can't speak for it as a whole, but I would say yes! I think the real satisfaction from the game comes from the context specific battles have, especially much later on, but I do think Samurai is incredibly fun to play in particular. Ducking out of AoEs, managing your meters, and doing the best attacks you can in the moment is really engaging to me, but obviously I can't say if that's the case for everyone.
>As you might be able to tell from my 3x3 I value gameplay above all else
In all honesty, with titles like P5, Automata, and Yakuza 0, I figured the opposite might be true, or at least it'd hold equal sway with a game's story. My recommendation is less enthusiastic in that case, but XIV has a free trial, so I'd say give it a shot regardless! Maybe it'll stick with you!

Cheers for the in-depth reply m8. And while I agree that P5 is an outlier, Automata and Y0 still have very solid gameplay, obviously not comparable to DMC or NG, but they're fun. I love the shit out of Umineko too, so it's not like I can't appreciate a well-told story. I'll give it a whirl.

I forgot to mention that the dev team has said that they know how relatively unpopular the base game's main story is, and are looking to rework it in the future. What this exactly means, and when it'll come about, I have no clue, but it may be something to keep in mind if the grind is the biggest thing holding you back.

What's the first game?

>WarioWare TWISTED
Holy based. Best Ware game, I still play it on my SP.

>tfw sold my copies of twisted and drill dozer years ago
>now they're crazy expensive
Feelsbad. Drill Dozer at least is playable on a flashcard, but its not the same without the rumble. Same goes for the Twisted microgames in Gold.

I'll rate a couple from the bottom up. I'll post a 4x4 since its my birthday

4/4 (DMC5, BOTW, LM, MGSV) You don't need to show your hours.
4/4 (GH, Yakuza, DMC, Nier) Is that a specific monster hunter or just, in general?
5/5 (Snatcher, FF6, SM64, DMC, RE4) RE4 was good but I feel it didn't reach the hype I was told about.
8/8 (Haven't played KH) Nice taste,I can tell you grew up with Nintendo and Sony consoles. Need to go back and finish XCX though.
4/4 (DMC5, SA2, TTYD, Pokemon) A lot of games I wanna play on this list. You should give God Hand a try if you haven't.
4/4 (MP, VTMB, DE, HL2) Recently finished Max Payne and it was fantastic. Shame the others didn't live up to the original.
3/4 (Daimakaimura, DMC, BT -GoW) Never liked GoW much.
4/4 (FF6, Lunar, Shenmue, GTAV) Why GTAV, it's not a bad game but I'd hardly say it's 3x3 material even if I liked it. Was it the online?
3/3 (SH, MG, Ico) Nice taste, Ico was great.

Attached: 4x4 png words.png (1230x1230, 3.12M)

I know I don't have to show my hours, I just like baiting people with that number because it's such a divisive game.

>Pokemon Conquest
Will we ever see a sequel? My favorite Pokemon spin-off and it was released when the DS died. What a shame.

5/5
this has very strong "former 90's kid" aesthetics, which makes me feel very nostalgic for some reason

3/3 (DKC2, Crystal, SM)
1/2 (+Gravity Rush -Gen 1); MonHun 1? I admit I haven't touched that early in the series but didn't that game have attacking with the right analog?
1/1 (DMC5)
2/2 (BiS, SCIV)
2/2 (Zanac, NGB)
2/2 (Vice City, Revengeance)
1/2 (+CvS2 -GTAV)
4/4 (Sekiro, DMC5, Pedro, Astral Chain); Pedro has such good gameplay but I hated the writing and I wish there was a New Game+ with every weapon from the start. You play Bloodstained Curse of the Moon? I'm not into the Metroidvanias but CotM was awesome.
6/6 (+WL1/VB/II/3/4 +Twisted); have to play Shake It sometime.
2/2 (GnG, DMC); maybe I should try Dreams sometime, but I never liked LittleBigPlanet.
2/2 (Fire Pro, SMASHTV)
5/5 (AC, DMC5, Air Ride, TTYD, FRLG)
5/5 (SF64, SM64, DMC, MMX4, Super Star)
4/4 (MonHun, DMC3, GH, Dragon's Dogma)
4/4 (DMC5, SangFroid, MHW, Luigi)
(+Uprising +DMC3 +Bayo +Bayo2 +AC +W101 +Revengeance +Dragon's Dogma -FFXI); Nothing against FFXI, it just was one of the games that made me realize I don't like traditional RPGs. Gonna play MH3U sometime since it's an excuse to keep my Wii U now that Wonderful 101 is getting a port. Pokemon Conquest seems cool.
5/5 (God Hand, Sapphire, MGS, Minish Cap, Paper Mario)
2/3 (+Crazy Taxi +SoRII -Space Harrier); more of an Afterburner guy than Space Harrier. Definitely want to play Panzer Dragoon series eventually, but I haven't gotten Saturn emulation to work on my toaster well.

Attached: 5x5 vidya.jpg (1530x1530, 2.3M)

>never liked LittleBigPlanet
Standard 2D platforming or the whimsical nature? Dreams is an entire social networking engine of creativity. Animation, modelling, sound design, mechanics and logic, it gives anyone a chance to slowly push their way into the development field.

I never liked how it played. I think the aesthetic is well-done and everything, but I never enjoyed controlling Sackboy, you know? I know Dreams is more a tool than a game but I worry that it might be limited in a way that makes games feel "off" unless you put in a ton of work.

I'll probably try it out sometime though, I want to see if there's any real gems in there.

6/9 Good retro nostalgia vibes
2/6 Either I'm not Weeb or Indie enough for this
3/67/9 Never played Ninja Gaiden...
8/9 what's the last one?
8/9 Gonna give you bonus for the best civ
9/9 You have aesthetic taste
7/9 Never played DMC but may give it a try
4/9 but fuck yeah Jet Grind Radio

I know my taste is pretty basic but ready to take some hits.

Attached: IMG_2765.jpg (1650x1275, 524K)

>Crazy Taxi
I forgot about this game’s existence until now. Just watched a gameplay vid and the nostalgia is overflowing.

Yeah I think I get what you mean. Like if all the FPS are gonna feel the same to control and say you can't put any weight behind your shots. Just feedback in general.

I'm mostly hoping somebody makes some cool, original 3rd person action game in it sometime. Mostly seen recreations of things and some platformers so far.
