There's only like 2 choices in the game, so not very "game" like, but it was cute in its own way.

Yagakimi is good but kinda overrated and not too emotional.

Overall I'd say its probably sasamekikoto. It has its problems, but every time i read it it hits me in the heart really hard. Its probably the most emotionally moving yuri manga to me.
My only real problem with it, outside its flaws in writing (like too much meandering in the middle) is that its a bit too fantastical. I like my yuri with a dose of lesbo reality. I like things that are tied a little more down to reality, and sasameki is definitely more of a fairy tale romance.

Name is Guardian Recall, it's on the PC98 and PS1, neither are translated. PC98 version has a few lesbian sex scenes that aren't in the PS1 version, but the PS1 version has more maps, expands on the characters more, and has more content in general. It's basically a SRPG version of JoJo, but all the stand users are cute girls. It's good, but takes time getting used to since you only have direct control over the masters and not the guardians that do all the combat. You give them orders like "defend master" or "seek out enemies" through their master and if the master goes down so does the guardian. The enemy also follows the same rules as you do so for most fights you'll want to take out enemy masters while making sure yours don't get taken out. Story isn't anything too special, it's basically about a bunch of ambiguously and not so ambiguously gay girls beating the shit out of evil lesbians that want to destroy Japan. The characters are all pretty likeable and their interactions are fun. As for the yuri content pic related are the gayest in the main team and they do get together in the end. One of the villains is also a sadist that loves to collect cute girls and uses them like playthings.

Then you have things that are more drama heavy, or just authors who like writing about actual gays.
Anything that tries to base things on a more grounded romance will usually go into people being gay or not. Naturally this usually also means it tends to be more drama heavy, but that's not bad imo. The fairy tale romances get kinda dull after awhile.

I image the PC98 at least had to have made some money if they were able to do an updated remake on the PS1. The few reviews I've seen for it on Japanese sites are favorable for the most part, but I don't know how well it was received during it's actual release.

The game ended pretty conclusively without much room for a sequel. And though I call it lesbian JoJo the only similarities are just how guardians are similar to stands. The plot closer to shounen anime were everything runs on hotblood complete with a tomboy main character.
