Persona has had dating sim elements for over a decade, it's been more popular than SMT for over a decade, they still didn't make SMT into Persona because it's a retarded idea. Why would they make SMT into Persona instead of just making more Persona, which they're doing anyway? Barely anybody gives a shit about SMT in comparison, making it like Persona isn't going to change that, fans of Persona want to play Persona, not SMT. It's nonsensical to try and change it to be like Persona, if they ever did want to do it in spite of that they would have done it a long time ago and you have no reason to believe otherwise aside from some baseless rumors and your pessimism misguiding your reason.
You can just look at the trailers for SMTV and see it's not anything like Persona tonally. If SMTV is too much of a rehash of game it'll almost certainly be Nocturne, not any Persona game.

What the fuck. I briefly remember this trailer but now that I've played some SMT and Fire Emblem games, this is a blatant fucking lie of what the product was going to turn out as.
It was just bad marketing. Considering two years passed before they actually showed the game and that trailer is just character portraits being thrown on screen, they probably didn't know exactly what the game would be themselves at the time. They really should have just said the team that make SMT and the team that makes Fire Emblem are collaborating for a new project, unless they really wanted to commit to an actual crossover.
