Had trouble playing the game as a kid on a gameboy advance because it was too dark.

Same with Circle of the moon.

the guy who designed the suits

Could be worse, they could have used one of those disgusting smoothing filters. But yeah, GBA games look bad unless on their native hardware or on an actual CRT. The low PPI of the GBA's LCD gives this odd looking grid look that gave the GBA it's own signature look for better or worse, and anything else just looks "off".

that's actually my screenshot, I'm just experimenting with filters

if you're upscaling the image in a way you're not supposed to, like for a 30" screen, the hq4x works surprisingly. Very immersive for a GBA game.

>suprisingly
surprisingly well I mean

makes me want to try out a bunch of different games

Did everyone collectively forget what video games used to look like?

Zoomers have never held a handheld.

>Watching my nephew
>Kid picks up my DS
>"Hey give me back my gameboy"
>"What's a gameboy?"

The issue isn’t that they forgot, it’s that the pixels on the original were visible/distinct enough that they don’t notice the right isn’t completely accurate. Also, some people prefer to be able to see EVERYTHING, for better or for worse.

I don't get why most people can't get filters right
This is how it should be, zoom in and look at the pixels, it has color bleeding and it replicates CRT really well
Wish it was implemented on the nintendo switch online roms

comfy

My dream is to set CTR Royale just like this but it's literally impossible with a 1080p screen - it looks awful and crushed. The other filters don't even compare to Royale

there is no need for that if you have snes9x and reshade

also CRT Royale looks ugly in most games Since it was made with Arcade Screens in mind.

*X to doubt

He would have thought you said:
>Give me back my game, boy!

it lack royalle

>playing ugly pixels
ZOOM here its you resetranny

I will never understand why people like filters. They're disgusting.

>muh PIXELS are good because io played it on old ass emulators 1st with 2x sal
Hello phil fish

>calling a DS a gameboy

my dad found my old gba and gave it to me, still had super mario advance and my gb donkey kong land 3 and solomon's key
fucking hell, the backlight really was terrible on that thing kek
>be a kid
>sit under lamp to see what i'm doing in game
>have to get perfect angle so lamp doesn't blind me

No, because it looks like shit.

Even Yea Forums trolls can do better than you resetranny.
now go back to your insignificant hole with shit like celeste.

A true boomer appreciates both.

It's funny to me that you think I'm some sort of bogeyman from place you don't like

Pixelart back then was done in crt monitors, it just looks horrible in modern screens because they don't display the image the same way at all.

>puts his twitter or instagram handle on a wall
this pissed me off more than the fact he spraypainted a forced, 2 day old meme on a wall

it is an evolved gameboy though

So is boomers or zoomers that like filters on lld games? I can't tell

>didnt get the SP
plebe

proto boomers either stick to the “real steel” hardware or play the emulator with a CRT tv. im an xbox/pc kiddie but i visit /vr/ sometimes and its divisive as fuck. just play however you feel is best.

do you call a switch a wii?

... fair point

no i call it a nintendo

no I call it a nintendo or xbox

CRT ones are the best available option, though not ideal. Raw pixels don't look right if you've ever seen how these games looked on their intended hardware.
