It had a lot of unnerving stages for a SNES, like ripsaw rage and lightning look-out. Felt almost like makaimura.

I think DKC3 gets too harsh of a treatment.
Kiddie Kong is lame and all but he's a necessary evil. Dixie was the protagonist of the game, and including DK would just overshadow her, so they had to come up with a replacement.
The gameplay is great aside from a couple more gimmicky levels, and while the OST certainly isn't Wisekino, Evelyn does still deliver some bangers.

Blast Corps is easily one of the best N64 games.

Nintendo originally wanted GoldenEye to be a reskinned Donkey Kong Country where you played as James Bond, and Rare had to fight with them to get them to allow it to be a FPS.

No. DKC3 is the one I played first, the most, and it deserves every bit of hate it gets. 1 and especially 2 are just better.

I never got the hate for Kiddy Kong. He was my favorite playable character in the original DKC trilogy, because he was basically Donkey and Diddy combined(Donkey’s strength and Diddy’s running speed). Plus he was a giant baby, which was hilarious.

Can't float, giant hitbox, water bounce is suicide and he's basically useless in the hardest stages, of which there are plenty in 3. If you lose Dixie in, say, the level with the running shield users you might as well reset the console.

I still want DKC4. Not that Returns/Tropical Freeze shit. A real DKC sequel with Kiddy as the main protagonist and a brand new Kong as his partner, and K. Rool with an all new persona as the villain.

It's mostly the design. People generally hate baby characters since they're often just there to be "cute" for marketing purposes

I wanna live in the Berenstein universe where Rare wasn't sold off and DKC4 on the DS was developed.

Why are they bothering with new IPs instead of trying to revive some of the old ones, also their new character artstyle fucking sucks, the environment looks neat tho (Sea of Thieves water is the best one there is)

Because if you haven't noticed, that's what put Rare on the map to begin with. Making tons of new IPs during the 90s like Banjo, Perfect Dark, Conker, etc whereas Nintendo was mostly complacent

And would you really want them to just be stuck in the past? If they are failing with the new IPs they would probably fail with the old ones, but even in the mid of all these weaker games you can get neat stuff like Viva Pinata

Christmas mode was the games best feature. I disliked the tacked on post-game where you beat the secret boss and nothing happens until you clue in that the banana birds are still a thing. Kiddy is okay. A giant baby beating up evil doers is funny.

Can't forget that commercial.

Perfect Dark is still one of my favorite games for the N64. Perfect Dark Zero was "alright" and I had plenty of fun with the online modes and I was amazed at it's time for it's graphics.

Why Kiddy as the main protagonist? Just have all 4 of the original Kongs playable. It's DKC4. Maybe they could make a joke where you start as Kiddy and have to find the other Kongs. And have the game be Christmas themed in the first world. K Rool steals the Kongs presents.

I always liked Kiddy too, but honestly I love all of the old Rare DKC characters so maybe I'm biased. Wish Nintendo would bring them back.

I'm torn on all the kongs Rare was making. It was seriously looking to be a weird Sonic situation where they would introduce a billion side characters designed with a template and only having one personality trait.

Rare carried the N64 on the back of their new IP's and GoldenEye.
VP was better than most of their Nintendo era output.
