If there isn't a Direct this week then I'm genuinely expecting nothing until E3. Anything later before AC would overshadow their last minute marketing pushes for AC and anything after would probably be considered too close to E3. I'd almost love to see this happen just to see investors light a fire under Nintendo's asses at the fiscal quarter meeting next month for a lack of a general Direct for so long. They've shown to be antsy about the pace of Nintendo Directs before.

I mean you get Mario and Zelda right at the beginning and then after that... what, a new Fire Emblem nobody's really hyping up? A new Pokemon game that's the same shit that was on the 3DS? Prime 4 is coming out in 2023 or some shit? Breath of the Wild sequel but we haven't heard a single thing about it for over half a year? What do I even have to look forward to? The first-party releases from Nintendo have felt really underwhelming overall. Why was there no Odyssey DLC? Why was there no Super Mario Party DLC? Why isn't there even Virtual Console?

Even shit like the UI and the Eshop are disappointing. Remember when the Switch dropped and a lot of the visual design felt shitty and barebones so everyone assumed they would eventually improve it via updates? Now we are here three years in and it's the exact same as when it released.

It feels like Nintendo saw the initial success of the Switch and said "oh everyone roves our new consore, we do not have to try anymore!"

I don't know if I'd say they're coasting but 2018 was definitely a miss since they relied on ports and Smash to carry the year.
Which it did in terms of sales but not really in terms of customer satisfaction.
2019 was definitely an improvement and arguably as good as 2017 in my book, but I need some fucking news for 2020. I need at least one huge RPG or First Party game to keep me hard for this.

This may sound odd, but one of the first things that really drove it home in my mind was how they commemorated one year of Nintendo Online in September by adding SNES games and immediately terminating regular classic game updates. I don't really understand where all the dev teams are at. The DS/portable lines had crazy support, while I understand switch games take longer to make, those devs have to be doing something, at this point they're all probably doing mobile game transitions. I was hopeful that ninty would take this opportunity to just pump out games and actually have a mainline console with a pretty good quantity library (pretty much all of their consoles have subpar-none third party support, which resulted them being a 6-10 game machine for most people)

Maybe it's a matter of perspective, but most of the video games I am into have constant shitposting and baiting with very little actual honest discussion. The largest amount of posters are here to spite and spam against their enemy, usually accompanied by their discord buddies or autists that cannot let go. Lots of thread types have very dedicated shitposters, for example monster hunter had listfag and bing posters, there was pretty much just 1 guy who would post the same exact list every thread criticizing the game (half of the list is nitpicks), pretty much derailing the threads most of the time since it pissed people off and then created the people who have complete disdain for past mh who just post bing to anything related to that or listfag. Lots of shitposters are pretty much a guy or two who only aim to derail threads, or they intentionally start threads with bait (lots of indies like celeste, hk, bloodstained, ut) have this happen pretty often.
