How fucked would Earth be if the Marker was real and began its influence right now?

She can lay eggs yeah, so if she can get a spot and get some hosts, then the aliens will be able to spread really easily.

mankind can effectively fight against xenos. there are tools to salvage this earth, even if it's gotta be scorched sun. Not so much The Marker's power and transformations. The animated films did pretty good in showing how brutal, fast, merciless, and out of control it'd quickly become. Just multiply that with hundreds of military bases and potential immediate local transformations, all of our weaponry would be pretty much junk. It would be so chaotic that the rule of thumb would be KoS any and all, and it'd become a constant culling brought about by collective psychotic madness and spontaneous mass societal and economic collapse. Xenos, mankind can still gather together, still rationalize things out with each other despite differences. That's not happening with The Marker.

Every planet has a marker. Rather, the planets that had life at some point. The markers are encoded with the genetic information of the species. When Aegis' marker was found and tampered with it malfunctioned and imprinted all dead organic tissue with the species info of Aegis'XII which was a race of gigantic worms.

Earth's marker would make people mutate into humans, which would not change anything. Of course all this was forgotten when they wrote DS3. Essentially what happened to the Aliens franchise.

Not really, no. In Aliens the queen was there for god knows how long and there were only afew several hundred eggs. So there is either a cap or there are factors in her egg production.

Another strong point Earth would be fine is how a squad of colonial marines did alright fighting a nest with no information on xenos, no sit rep, and restricted from actually using their guns half the time.

In Alien vs Predator, there was this Queen that was placed into bondage, frozen and then re-animated when the temple of trials was opened by the human expedition. During the film, it's explained that humans once worshiped Predators as Gods and were taught science and technology, and as such offered some of themselves up to the Predators to be harnessed and birth xenomorphs, the "perfect prey". One time, a sacrifice event went out of control, and the planet underwent a subsequent extinction event triggered by the Predators. This civilization collapsed and nearly everything about these records were lost in time yet humanity survived.

Pretty much this, the marker spreads actual memetic effects that fuck with every living thing, mass psychosis and paranoia will spread and run rampant, the deranged will build more markers, and the problem will quickly snowball out of control while undying abominations reanimate from the corpses in new and fun configurations

Xenos are a tangible outside threat. The Marker indirectly created an entire religion of fanatics and nutjobs, and causes SEVERE mental trauma in pretty much everyone in a fuckhuge radius with varying speeds based on contact. Among other more visceral things.

That's wrong. The Aegis VII marker was manmade and buried there or some shit, been literally years since I played.

The markers imprinted themselves into people's minds, and they would reproduce it. It's expressly stated that's how shit went south on the Sprawl - they retrieved Isaac and pretty much pulled out 'how 2 build marker' from his brain and it ended up infecting all the scientists researching it and him.

Hell, I still remember an audio log of one of the scientists stating he had inadvertently creating a tiny marker out of soap while he was having a bath. On top of that, in a book released around the same time as the first Dead Space, it was stated that the initial marker found on earth was creating necromorphs in it's immediate vicinity.

I'll concede they did retcon what seemed like the Marker personalities out with DS3 though.
