Thinking of pirating/playing a survival crafting game.
I already have The Forest but i've never completed it and last time I played it, it was a fairly early patch version.
Keen to check out Rust but I only want to play single player offline, can I do that with a pirated copy?
Or should I just stick to something like Conan: Exiles or Subnautica which seem more suited to single player?

if ur really into the whole survival sort of thing, try getting Project zomboid. Specifically the build 41 beta which is not shit compared to old ones.
While not strictly first person game, check out Rimworld. Seriously its the shit. just be prepared to sink hundreds of hours into it.
Its basically the sims but with shit like combat with depth, raider capturing, harvesting their organs, selling them as slaves, etc etc.
minecraft
Rust is just about only good for the online shenanigans. If you want good survival, go with modded Minecraft or 's suggestion.
I won't recommend pirating, and especially from developers that obviously care about delivering a good product worth the money. Rust has a community so toxic that it's funny, its unlike anything else. Playing the PVP servers are the most fun, but there a lot to get out of it playing a PVE server too. you can very easily run your own server locally as well and play offline if that floats your boat
that's what i really want to play, but i'm still waiting for the update. it's been 6 fucking months, the """""""""beta"""""""""" should be fucking done by now.
played it.
played it
>only good online
not interested then. dont like the idea of not being able to play for a week, then logging on to find some clan of 400 ppl has destroyed my house.
i pirate everything and so does most of Yea Forums, fuck off zoomer.
The Forest has improved a lot, might be worth retrying it again.
alright my friend, hopefully you see the other side of it when you get a job
and beside that, The Long Dark is a great atmospheric survival game. Even has a story mode now.
play the forest then if you want a more singleplayer oriented experience
i'll gladly pirate your game user
>if you have money you have to spend it even if you could have that product for free
NPC and goy pilled
the thing with The Forest though is the game actively punished you for building a big cool base, at least last I played it about 4 years ago.
the best way to survive in that game unironically ended up being either living in a cave or living on a boat.
even if you lived on the land you were punished for doing anything other than just having 10-15 beds and resource caches spread around the map.
The Forest, should be renamed to "The Caves" unless they actually added more content above ground?
also i'm too scared to enter the caves ever since the first time I entered one. got 1 shot by a cow thing in the darkness and there was no loot. if you descend any of the rope entrances you get spawncamped at the bottom by a bunch of shit in the darkness.
Ark is probably the best and the devs sold out to the chinks so you don't need to feel bad about pirating
the forest hasn't had a update in years, its a dead game
I heard Ark was just grindier Rust w/ dinosaurs lazily slapped in. Not interested.
all online survival games are shit simply because of the chinese horde that will show up and rape every server
Get Green Hell.
First person survival game set in the Amazon jungle. If the spiders or snakes or parasite ridden water doesn't kill you then the spear chucking tribal niggers will.
On the hardest permadeath difficulty is very hard but it also has a slightly kinder story mode where you get to play the story and do mad DNT trips and stuff
Not sure about rust, but pretty much everything in ark is adjustable so it can be as grindy or fucking casual as you want it to be.
And unlike rust, there is actually stuff to do if you don't play online.
As somebody with ~4000 hours of ARK, and ~2000 hours of Rust played i'd recommend playing modded Rust (e.g. 2+ gather multiplier etc.). It's updated and receives bug fixes a lot more often than ARK. ARK definitely offers more content if you playing solo and trying to beat all of the Alpha bosses but also requires a significant grind. Grinding on official servers in either game is a pointless endeavor as you will constantly run into 20+ man groups who essentially control servers. From the bit of Conan I've played it seems decent, they even have a unique system on some servers with a daily "pvp time" of like an hour or two where pvp is enabled but is otherwise turned off. If you can find a half decent group the play with the games become a lot better.
thanks for your input user.
yeah if i was to play online Conan seems like the way to go.
i want to try Subnautica but might wait until i've upgraded my PC. current PC can only run it on lowest settings so I want to make sure I can do it justice.
In my experience, Subnautica was really fun to the point where I was spending all of my free time in a day on it for about a full week, as I dotted little outposts around the map, and had a big, growing base near the start of the map... and as soon as I finished main quest, my interest immediately evaporated, and I never touched it again. Couldn't even finish my base.
If I had one, go for it. But nah its just that the system works if people don't abuse it. Just sucks to see it happen in real time.
yeah i played it a bit, got instantly addicted but about 3 or 4 hours in I realized that my experience was probably being ruined by 15fps and lowest gfx settings.
decided to hold off until i'd upgraded.
RUST is probably the ultimate GIT GUD game. It takes hundreds of hours, but one person can shit on groups of 5-10 people and take everyone and it's amazing.
That said, pirating does fuck all and there's no survival beyond not dying to other players.
kind of loosely related..
how's Life is Feudal these days?
I heard it's free to play now, not needing a subscription.
