Why do people love pic related again? I'm convinced they are either borderline retarded or blinded by visuals and fan service to an extreme degree. The enemy placement is as bad as the worst parts of Dark Souls 2 and the exploration in The Ringed City is barely existent. The Dreg Heap is better in that regard, but the angels ruin the entire area.
The whole DLC can be summed up with one sentence: a quick run from one bonfire to the next. On a partially related note:
>there are people who think this DLC is better than any of the Crown DLCs
Literal brainlets.
Why do people love pic related again...
1. They aren't people
2. They loved Bloodborne so naturally they'd like Bloodborne 2
the bosses are good, the weapons are fun, it's visually nice. On the other hand, I don't think that there really are a lot of people who proclaim their love for the ringed city, seems to me that people generally think it's good but not great
Obsessed, Dark 2 is shit
There is no BB 2, just better games from there on after
It's not like the base game wasn't also shit.
>oh no, they've pointed out BB2's flaws
>better deflect to different game
sasuga 3tards
>They loved Bloodborne so naturally they'd like Bloodborne 2
For fucks sake, it's not about Bloodborne. You can use that complaint for Friede's speed, but this has nothing to do with that.
It's not that enemy placement fits Bloodborne, it would have been shit if it was in that game as well.
Maybe I made a mistake, but aren't people jerking off the Ringed City area and the DLC in general? I'd understand if they said "the DLC has excellent bosses", but they say it like they mean the entire DLC.
I don't give a fuck about lore that's already ruined beyond belief with its repetitiveness and the forced callbacks to previous games, and neither should anyone else.
I don't give a fuck about the visuals because without good level design and enemy placement they are useless as fuck; if I'd want a nice thing to look at I'd check paintings.
Can literally anyone defend the horrendous enemy placement and the barely mediocre level design? I really want to see anyone try.
I said "partially related note". Also, don't pretend that there aren't people who make such claims. I'll also remind you that there are people who think this DLC is better or almost as good as The Old Hunters. Let that sink in.
Literally no one calls it BB2 and you mentioned 2 in the OP, go back to /vg/eddit
Crown DLCs are shit outside of like 3 bosses
Don't pretend shit like Blue Smelter Demon, the run to Sir Alonne, or the Frozen Wastes with the reindeer don't exist
>aren't people jerking off the Ringed City area and the DLC in general?
are they? People like it, but I don't regularly see people claiming it's the best souls dlc or anything
>lore that’s ruined beyond beliefs because of callbacks
You nigs never cease to amaze me with your retardation, it’s a sequel, what do you expect? You’re not special for liking something with a perceived artistic integrity like The Old Hunters
>are they?
Yea, it's praised as the best DLC in all Souls by the community.
Where, on reddit?
>Don't pretend shit like Blue Smelter Demon, the run to Sir Alonne, or the Frozen Wastes with the reindeer don't exist
Don't put words into my mouth, you pleb. I don't ignore the existence of all that, but everything that you named is literally optional.
>Crown DLCs are shit outside of like 3 bosses
Confirmed to not have played the DLCs. The enemy placement goes overboard in a few smaller segments, but the level design is miles ahead of the rest of the DLCs in the series minus The Old Hunters. Hell, the areas in the DLC are some of the best in the series.
It's beyond me how people can play those DLCs and not see the greatness of Shulva, Brume Tower and Eleum Loyce.
Shulva has the nice "shoot arrow to activate stuff" mechanic and the dungeon attached to it (Dragon's Sanctum) is an excellent homage to 3D LoZ dungeons.
Brume Tower is the best vertical area in the series with lots of exploration and many nooks and crannies to check out.
Eleum Loyce is the best horizontal area in the series alongside Central Yharnam. It's also the closest that the series got to a metroidvania-styled area since when you remove the ice a lot of new areas open up.
You people have to be memeing, you just have to. No one comments on things he hasn't played, right? Right?
Bosses are mostly shit, but areas are top notch.
>tfw Hbomberguy is posting on Yea Forums right now
If you're counting Bloodborne the Old Hunters is almost universally considered the best
lmao no it's not
literally nobody says this
>anyone who says something positive about ds2 is hbomberguy
Also that he barely mentioned the DLCs in his video
Nice memeing in any case, but I bet you haven't even played the DLCs
Don't you get tired of the same circle jerk?
It's really fascinating to watch how the mind of a DS2fag works
I sais Souls, not Soulsborne.
don'0t know about reddit, but everywhere i read about Souls DLC they praise everytime Ringed City as the ebst
I don't think the DLC is perfect by any means but the level design is really strong, the weapons and spells are some of the best in the series, the bosses are all top quality (except the Spear of the Church but that's a PVP fight). The enemy placement can be cancer but the enemies themselves are really fun to fight. An of course, the art design is spectacular.
I prefer the world design of Ariandel but TRC is still very good.
>Don't pretend shit like Blue Smelter Demon, the run to Sir Alonne, or the Frozen Wastes with the reindeer don't exist
there is nothing wrong in those runs if you play them like intended, as coop only areas.
And in solo you can easily permanently clear the area so running at the boss is piss easy.
It's fun, I feel as though a lot of the problems I had with 2 were addressed, but they also removed Power Stancing and poise is still fucked.
>taking "X's your Y" threads seriously
based retard
keep seething, maybe one day you'll go through das2 again (or for the first time) and play the DLCs while at it; then you'll realize how much of a retard you were
>the level design is really strong
why of course, who can forget the epic segments like pic related or the god tier swamp
>I prefer the world design of Ariandel
at least you got that right
>why do people like what i dont like?
>they need to stop liking what i dont like.
Why everyone in her shitting on DS2 DLCs obviously did never plaied any of them?
Most dark souls dlc suck because they can't balance enemy damage
>le relativism meme
get out
>they can't balance enemy damage
So like the main games.
Who is the autist that keeps making hate threads on this game?
AoA and TRC are better than ToH when taken together.
No idea what you're on about with enemy placement, but even if TRC is a bit linear there's plenty of exploration in the other parts of the DLCs.
I like all the dark souls. BB and Sekiro too. I'll never understand all the cynicism surrounding From games.
AoA is shit because of its areas. The first one is a shitty, empty reskin of Darkroot Garden, the second one is a barely mediocre town area and the third one is just a mildly better version of Tomb of the Giants
Lorefags and bossfags are the worst
>there's plenty of exploration in the other parts of the DLCs.
The Dreg Heap has some (not plenty) exploration, but the angels ruin it
AoA, not AotA.
AoA was decent enough (disregarding the empy forest that's between the village and the basement of the church), but even if you combine it with TRC the two are still nowhere near as good as ToH. It's absurd to think that any of the areas in those two DLCs can compare to ToH's which has three outstanding areas and two god tier (Ludwig and Orphan) bosses.
There's nothing spectacular about the Hunter's Nightmare or Fishing Hamlet. Research Hall has pretty good geometry but shit tier enemy variety.
And 3's DLCs have four god tier bosses.
I'm glad that you realize that Research Hall is the best design-wise (it's probably one of the five best areas in the entire series), but Hunter's Nightmare and Fishing Hamlet aren't too far behind. I guess Ariandel is kind of better than Fishing Hamlet (at least if we compare its village segment to the Fishing Hamlet segment that's before that second lamp), but that isn't enough. ToH is simply too good.
>And 3's DLCs have four god tier bosses.
>four
None of those bosses have anything as good as Ludwig regaining his humanity halfway through the battle or the introduction and atmosphere of the Orphan of Kos battle.
