Yep i'm thinking 2 > 1 > 3

>it's locked: the game
>best

>feeds rock

while I like the idea, the doors of pharros ended up being far more annoying than anything. You don't need both that shit and statues blocking paths that you need branches for. It's bad game design to make players have to use fairly rare resources to access content

/r/dontputyourdickinthat

>søy walls
Truly ahead of its time

Was there ever anything useful behind these things? The only good loot I remember is the cloranthy ring.

DS2 is fucking retarded it’s like a N64 game, what an embarassment

You are a garbage user and your opinions are total shit. Seriously, reread what you just posted about a game with NG+.

the one in the area with the lava bridge and iron archer guys creates a healing pool that was very useful in pvp encounters provided that you knew it was there

I challenge you to a pokemon battle.

Belfry Luna

Yes, lots of it. I take it you didn't open many of them?

>NPCPARROT.exe

You're such a dumb nigger Anonymous

so what you're saying is that I need to play the game twice to actually play all the game? Why is this not stupid?

lmao every time, ds2 apologists can't admit the game has problems

>you mean i have to actually play the game to access all of the content?!?

I don't need to go to ng+ to play all of ds1, ds3, or bloodborne

I liked feeding these doors.

Båsed

because ng+ in those games actually doesn't change anything

having played from demons souls to dark souls 3
2 was the worst one imo

Attached: 1566331586534.jpg (400x400, 13K)

Out of all the problems DS2 has, Doors of Pharros aren't one. I'd agree with SotFS's changes to statues being retarded, but I have no problem with having both statues with branches and doors with stones, one might make more sense in an area than the other and changes things around. Having something locking extra content that's not an invisible wall is good.

>dark souls 2 is good

true, that's an area where ds2 did make improvements. Still, most of the content is basically exactly the same, but even if it wasn't, it's not fun to have so much shit locked away, especially when many doors don't even hide anything useful. You shouldn't have to check the wiki to make sure you aren't wasting branches or lockstones either.

At least it tried new concepts. Ds1 is boring and barely did anything differently from demons and ds3 is just ds1 nostalgia baiting with bloodborne combat shoehorned in. Ds2 has flaws but 1 and 3 are extremely uninspired.

Hey guys, what's going on in this thread

Attached: Santier's_Spear.png (220x165, 8K)

Holy shit guys, he played them all.
HEY PLAYED THEM ALL, not just one, or two, but ALL OF THE DARKS SOULS GAMES.

are you retarded
there is also bloodborne and the king's field games

DS3 and post O&S DS1 aren't far behind though

where is your composure man

Loved that fucking thing, twinblades were a cool idea and the fancier spears sharing move-pools with twinblades even moreso

Attached: 1563573693133.jpg (520x476, 113K)

What's the issue with those? Kinda reminded me of Demon Doors in Fable, except they didn't talk as much.

I joined the rat covenant and had tons of fun slaughtering people in the Grave of Saints from the top, waiting after the traps, and shooting them with everything I got, and got plenty stones as rewards.

Maybe it wouldn't have been an issue if you didn't suck and actually tried to have fun OP.

Man, the months following the release of Dark Souls 2 was like a rollercoaster in terms of balance. There were just so many fucking changes constantly made with each patch. It was such a fun ride.

King's Field isn't part of the souls series based on a gameplay perspective. Bloodborne is an offshoot.

> Turns off the literal embarrassment of the series and plays DS1 instead.

Attached: eiugh.jpg (792x842, 175K)

Hope you didn't pay for the DLCs. I mean, fucking paint, really?

Is there a compiled list of changes made from 2 to Scholar?

I thought a ds2 randomizer run would be kind of fun since the beginning of the game is really open, but once you start and you realize how many items are locked behind pharros doors and statues it quickly becomes a nightmare of organizational planning and memory
ds1 is the only good from game for random runs, ds3 is lame since it's so linear most items are progress locked anyway

It felt pretty old school RPGish to me, I liked that

SotfS is FUCKING ABSOLUTE TOTALLY DOG GARBAGE SHIT PILE OF TRASH

DO NOT PLAY SOTFS, PLAY THE ORIGINAL

I saw a mod that tries to revert SotFS placement changes. Haven't tried it yet.

holy fuck that's a steep slide

Looks like something you're suppose to squeeze slime out of.

>when people found out it can break
>when people found out it was stupid op

god it was so fucking fun to use too

say what you will about the pve experience of ds2, the first month of pvp was some of my most fun in any game

*Unblocks your path

Pharos stuff is good because it's always optional shit and you don't even need to feed all of them to get all the good shit. The branches though were fine in OG DaS2 but in SoTFS it's fucking garbage.
>Blocking tutorial area with a branch
>Get to it later on, still has tutorial messages in the area
>Blocking Sentinels fight with a branch
>Blocking you from getting the Knight Set

Literally why

Was there a way to get an unlimited amount of these ??

>hehe I'll post an image, that'll teach him!

Admitting a game has flaws (EVERY ONE OF THE SOULS GAMES DOES) and calling it complete shit aren't the same thing, you mouthbreathing faggot.

What's wrong with sotfs?

Rat covenant PvP assuming people are still playing.

A number of absolutely perplexing and downright bad changes to parts of DS2 that weren't broke to begin with

>Wah why can't I easily gain access to everything, forever

>NOOOOOOOO you can't make games with branching paths and different choices with limitations and replayability NOOOOOOOOO

Attached: 1576547567192.jpg (633x950, 221K)

Like..?

keep squawking

Attached: 1568398038345.png (1238x1056, 549K)

ok, schizo

they changed most enemy placements, generally for the (somewhat) worse, lots of getting ambushed by a ton of mobs which wasn't that interesting in practice

cute kot

>Turns off the most RPG-like game of the series and plays the half-finished one instead

Fixed

So it got harder? That's what you're complaining about? Lmao

>use rare item
>open trap

I heard vanilla ds2 is better than sotfs

Well, they put a fucking demon-possessed chariot in the grand hall of Drangleic Castle, a fucking flying dragon before !Ornstein, ramped up the hordes in some places, and moved a lot of items around. Also, more Pursuer fights.

lmao funny face

Attached: thisisbait.jpg (625x626, 24K)

I will place my phallus in it

So simply put it just got harder..?

>ok, schizo

Attached: 1478544943937.jpg (474x444, 203K)

I bet all the cool kids hang out on the hat.

Not him but it's not the good kind of hard
I find it manageable and some segments are easier but shit like Heide's and Iron Keep are not what I'd call good by any stretch

Pretty much; I didn't mind it but a lot of Yea Forums posters bitch about it. In all honesty, only the executioner chariot in the castle is kind of...lame.

it wasn't really that much harder for anyone who's played DS2 before, just slightly more annoying

DOOR OF PHARROS WATCH OUT

I wish I was here for the launch of Sekiro then.

I liked Dark souls 2

>hehe I'll post an image, that'll teach him!

Imagine being the bitch that saves images like that, what a loser. Have sex.

Dark Souls 2 is more like Demon’s souls than Dark Souls 1

I liked it while realizing it's pretty flawed. It's enjoyable in a "one step forward, two steps back" kind of way.

It's a mix between King's Field and Demon's Souls, and I love it for it.

Attached: 1440920794_748552478.jpg (1238x1920, 272K)

I wouldn’t call it two steps back. I’d say DS2 is one step forward, two drunken stumbles sideways. It does some cool shit and some pointless weird shit, but it doesn’t “subtract” anything worthwhile.

What were the two steps back in your opinion?

Why have they never gone back to the amazing interconnected world of DS1 again?

>no hidden lava pit a few steps from where you start
Missed opportunity

Too much work when people eat up anything you throw at them

Isn't that New Londo

Nope, New Londo is underground with only a crack in the wall showing light, remember?

Boss design and world design (not levels, more the progression and how they're connected). Almost want to mention PvP but that's more like described (ie no full Red Eye Orb but more unique types of PvP like bellboys and ratfags).

Will it open a hidden door? No, here is some water for your trouble.

How about analog movement?

That's subjective

beautiful

>but it doesn’t “subtract” anything worthwhile.
Worse level design, the lamp gimmick is never fully fleshed out, some of the worst enemy design, dull forgettable bosses, and most importantly shitty hitboxes that force players to level a stat just to get iframes to deal with how broken they are. Granted powerstancing and the wide variety of weapons is nice, everything else is much worse than the other Souls games.

>hating on water
Get away from me you filthy hollow

He's not wrong though

based

>smashes spear against a wall for two hours until it breaks
>becomes the best weapon in the game when its broken
fuck ds2 had fun combat

>pretend to be an npc
>suddenly whip out that fucking triple crossbow and just nail them from across the room with lightning bolts
ahhh, god
fun times

gotem

Nah it's blightown. One of those archways is where you find the eagle tower shield or whatever it's called

A lot of DS1 world design was a happy accident. The designers noticed a lot of the maps just happened to line up, and so they could add elevators to connect them.

There we go.

DS2fags still getting raped daily

I'll give you 3, but the only part of 1 that is on par with the garbage from either 2 or 3, is Ruins/Izalith. People who shit on Archives or Tomb are just scrubs.

Go back faggot

>sticks dick in mouth hole

Why is parrying/riposte so bad in this game?

the timing is less forgiving, and ripostes are both weirdly long and as I recall, don't make you completely invincible.

fucking european outlets

I feel that parrying is easier, but the ripostes are god awful. Waiting for an enemy to fall on their ass, then pressing R1 in hopes that you're lined up correctly to riposte, rather than do a light attack.

(You)

Nigga what, if you don't move at all after parrying you'll always riposte
