Avenging Spirit is underrated. Every Zelda game released on all three platforms is great, same with the Turok games. Metroid II is amazing and has an actually good color mod released last year.

The GBA doesn't have an R4, but emulators are free and you can emulate the GBA on pretty much any jailbroken/homebrewed system post 2010.

I will recommend some Bomberman GB/GBC/GBA games:
The whole GB trilogy is pretty good. Personally, I think GB3 is the best of them. Bomberboy is not as good as the later GB games.
Quest is the best GBC Bomberman game. Pocket and Max are pretty good too. Don't know about the B-Daman games.
I think Tournament is the best of the GBA games. If you enjoy Tournament, the first Jetters game on GBA (Densetsu no Bomberman) is more of the same thing, but acts as a tie-in to the Jetters anime. Max 2 is your traditional title on the system, it's alright. Jetters Game Collection is a solid effort, best battle mode out of the GB/GBC/GBA games.
