I've been marathoning Jon era Grumps and it is still as entertaining as it was long ago. Woolie made Pat and Matt meet, they got along and started a youtube channel related to Machinima. They got millions of views, Pat was the sour yet clever character and Matt was the dumb patriot character.

Eventually Machinima fuckin died and they made their own YT channel, peak LP content ensued.

Matt got tired of LPing, wanted to do other stuff related to video games like what he's doing today in his personal channel, did some similar stuff in TBFP channel way back.

Pat always had a very pushy personality and people needed a lot of patience/confidence to be around him. He's a good guy at heart, but he will pounce on any opportunity to talk shit. Matt eventually got tired of this aspect of him and couldn't handle it.

Queue a few years of sour LPing, Matt and Pat obviously forcing stuff through. Matt messing up in LPs and podcasts, even showing up shitfaced drunk, and generally hating his current situation. Woolie was the middleman, but the OG pair obviously didn't speak to each other in an earnest way and there was only so much the middleman could do.

Eventually, Matt and Pat's animosity reaches a boiling point and the two break up during Omikron LP. Woolie posts final TBFP vid saying they were no longer buds. Queue drama due to the heat of the moment.

Years passed since then, they've shown a few hints of friendliness on social media but it's pretty obvious they won't be working together for a long while, if ever. They've all got their own channels and are producing content regularly in their own style.

It's kinda hard to have a quick rundown of them. Basically, channel was meant to be Matt and Woolie, Woolie said no, that's dumb, here, have a tiny angry ginger man instead.

Something clicked, it was fuckin' amazing for a few years. Woolie and Liam the anime boy joined up. Fun was had for a while until Liam had enough and wanted to do his own thing, so he started streaming instead. Then, Matt was also getting tired of it, since he and Pat weren't REALLY friends, personality wise off camera they were kinda at odds but dealt with it.
