Rate demon hoes
Spider ho>cave succubus>odas ice ho>Wheel cat>foxy momma>new snake slut>bird milf>Yamanba>ogress

But why? You'll get burned out.
I don't have a ps4 so I'll have to wait, but I don't want to replay 1 now that 2 exists.

keep a little distance and simply look at his attack

protip, his blue side doesn't have any close range attacks

burst counter with brute
easy mode

I'm thinking about it, but going back to my level whatever-hundred character is going to make starting fresh in N2 even harder.

too cute dude

you're gonna get burned out you dumbo

In all seriousness I've been using phantom and I think it's shit, or at least it's shit until you can actually make yourself a magic build

Why does the Yokai mode deal no damage?

You absolutely can. If I just finished a game, it doesn't mean I'll want to play a game that is exactly like the one I just beat next.

How do I get the shiftling grapple? The one where you go into yokai form to do a special attack, I only ever get the grapple that has you stab the glowing sword that you keep on your back

you must be a kid if you think that's not a thing.

in reality i carry every expedition, greet everybody with bows and guide everyone to kodamas

You have to press triangle right after a burst counter that breaks their stamina.

Finally settled on axe/2axe mountain bandit for the first playthrough, then spear/omyo priestess for 2nd run.

Since he got shit replies and I already wasted my time typing it all out.
Each Yokai form comes with it's own special action that for the cost of 1 Anima (the new gauge that fuels your Yokai abilities) can be used at pretty much any time, including cancelling any animations, Brute has an unstaggerable attack, Feral has a dodge and Phantom has a guard. Meanwhile, enemies now have particularly strong or dangerous attacks where they glow red, called Burst Attacks, some of these are adapted from their old movesets as well but some are given whole new moves but they all generally are deadly and spawn Yokai Realms if done by Yokai. You can avoid and punish these attacks in the usual ways, but by answering back using your Burst Counter you can stop the attack (with Feral and Phantom doing a counterattack if done right) and prevent the Yokai Realm being made while dealing heavy Ki damage and recovering a hefty chunk of Anima.
It was actually incredibly well balanced in the Beta, but the Trial has made using them on Burst Attacks too easy while using Feral and Phantom to directly counter normal attacks isn't a thing anymore which has overall made it significantly less satisfying to use, which granted is down to "incredibly satisfying" but still a terrible change.
Despite that though, it's one of the best designed mechanics they've added and is going to be integral the same way Ki Pulses and stances are, so people need to be experimenting with making use of them as much and as soon as possible, not just for Burst Attacks but in all combat and especially in the Dark Realm even though it's absolutely pathetic now.

The woman on the right looks like she could be a snake in human form. It's sexy.

Odachi/onymouji or Kusari/ninjutsu

You saw some success with your bootleg Anna de Armas but try to avoid turning every single thread into waifufaggotry.
Also, the purple highlight is a mistake.

>join expedition
>other member is over level 35
For what purpose?

Because i finished the game or the game was trash. That's not "burning out".

Good to see that the revival of /ng/ will quickly be replaced by a cesspool of waifus and coomers. Character creator was a mistake. You people need help.

Attached: 1432690959860.gif (295x221, 613K)

Maybe you people don't like Nioh all that much in the first place if you purposefully avoid playing it so that you won't get "burned out".

She looks like she's seen some shot

Because that's not her

i've seen revenants over level 50
the highest level i've gotten is like 21
how much do you have to grind to get to 50

>magoichi saika in samurai warriors: laid back bro
>magoichi saika in nioh: supreme edgelord
>magoichi saika in sengoku basara: hot redhead
Whereas oda nobunaga is pretty much the same exact character/design in every game

I’ll always remember Jorogumo as the one Nioh boss I accidentally perfect’d on my first try, didn’t even use living weapon.

Hatchets are absolute fucking shit. I think I might try Spear this time, I like the look of Hammer but it just seems like a 'Dark Souls style' weapon to me, weapons like Katana and Spear might be 'boring' but at least you play the actual game.

kuri / katana just like nioh 1

i wanted to roll kuri glave but I miss my kat when I dont have it

Okay, cool.

Why aren't you still playing Nioh 1 then?

3kat ninja
though i kinda want to go unga bunga axe

>google nioh 2 steam
>nothing

wtf bros? i was so excited for this, and it isnt even on PC? i swear it was announced, or atleast thought it was a given since 1's PC port did good.

ffs man. guess it's just DOOM then

spear/tonfa or spear/something

go and stay go

What's even funnier is I think the cap for revenants and acolytes is 51 for the twilight map so in reality they could be even higher. That being said, I have also put a completely unhealthy amount of time into this demo myself...

What do you mean? People want to play the demo but there's only so much to do. Being overlevelled for it is bound to happen eventually.

I appreciate your burly samurai man user

Probably November again.

I am, silly billy. I figured out I'd burn out faster through replaying the same three levels over and over so I started a fresh tonfa/spear run.

Better than the general being nothing but people shitting on each other for using WEAPON, although I'm sure we'll still have plenty of that.

Reminds me of Jack Black.

>All the replies just saying it's parry
It hurts seeing people be so ignorant.

Also, i'd want to note that all burst counters have hyper armor, you will never get stunned out of a burst counter animation with the exception of grabs. You also really underplay how useful burst counters are in non-parryable situations.

Because i'm playing the demo for 2. After that i'll start a mew playthrough of 1

I like him in Onimusha 2.

But you said burning out isn't a thing.

I can share that feeling.
>trying out a new weapon, having a good time figuring out combos and stuff
>step into a mob of humanoids
>immediately start thinking that this would be so much easier if I had my katana to parry them into oblivion
I want to try more weapons but 1kat makes me happy.

This except odachi

Same. She was pretty damn easy

I mean, the PC port for the first game came out how long after the console release? Japanese don't care about PC.

Switch the 1kat with 1axe and go unga bunga ninja

>When Mitsunari unsheathes his Katana just short of her throat
>She doesn't even flinch

No he didn't. I did.

Why not let him have fun?
After all he's helping keeping the thread afloat and some anons would like to play as that character in 12 days

In the hypothetical case that burning out through playing Nioh is a thing it's only reasonable that the easiest way to reach it would be to play the demo again and again, as it makes for the more repetitive experience. Playing Nioh 1 gives you a good enough variety of content to be entertained.

>Died 12 times in the Yokai Realm
>Died 8 times outside Yokai Realm

All the new mechanics are fine except for this, it just slows down the game or forces you to use items. Also playing this right after getting the Nioh 1 Plat was a mistake. I felt super underpowered the whole time, mainly with the low amount of stamina/regen.

Nothing about Katana is boring. Plebs don't understand that Team Ninja has been making basic "Sord" one of the coolest weapons in their games for 16 years. Spear is the best iteration of that weapon in video games to date.

Attached: ds.jpg (340x481, 15K)

Just make some pastebin with the most popular codes for when the game launches, no need to keep going through the same motions as if this were Groundhog Day.

Not to mention they don’t use stamina, so you can use the dexfag one to dodge out of dangerous attacks or use the mage one to block grabs

Dragon Sword is real cool and all, but Lunar.

Since stats don't seem to matter much for weapon scaling, what are the best general stats?

I felt I emphasized that at the end by putting them in the same boat as Ki Pulse and stances but I suppose my being pissed off at the awful changes could have served to muddle that. But they are indeed still extremely powerful and useful utility options due to their cancel and not costing any Ki.

You sound like a jealous bitch desu senpai

When's the last time you used low stance?

Attached: 1582784685045.jpg (1021x1024, 95K)

Wish spear had more stabs available, to many short range slashing attacks. Still it is really great compared to most spear movesets, also less retarded bo staff attacks

if it's anything like the first game you're better off just raising everything evenly until they're all 20

What is the thing you get to download after beating the first mission? Just a flex title?

I know I'm late but please rate my wife.

A couple hours ago i guess

Oh, I'm extremely jealous that half of every thread is you people posting the same bunch of characters over and over. You got me.

stamina for BIG armor
magic/dex for jutsu

Why does everyone love to use that set with the female characters?
The only advantage it has is the bare belly and that's it

What's the deal with the dark realm? I've seen posts about permanent ki damage and needing to use consumables and it's all around bad but I didn't have any trouble besides the enemies healing and slower ki regen (which isn't even an issue with pulse/flux and clearing a yokai puddle seemed to speed up ki regen). Are soulsbabs just getting filtered?

Attached: 1432515817117.gif (249x250, 1.08M)

What's Mezuki's weakness? I bodies him and was wondering.

It's a helmet with a weasel on it for the main game.

Or just adapt to the new mechanics that the game is screaming at you to use by powering them up and charging your gauge for, even despite them completely destroying any challenge of Ki management Dark Realm could ever have had because people can't figure out using their Yokai powers in a place made to strengthen Yokai.
Because midriffs are the best.

I wanna like feral but man, the dash isn't as good as I wish it was. It's still good obviously but it's still slower than a normal dodge and the distance is barely any better. The recovery after the dash just seems pointless. It's still the best burst move in the game tho.

Phantom really shouldn't force you to take ki damage when you block with it too or if it does the ki damage should be severely lessened compared to your normal block. It would also be cool if you could cancel phantom into an attack. So I could use it like a roman cancel from guilty gear

Also, I can't tell if it doesn't already but if it does, brute should definitely reduce the amount of damage you take during it's animation. Either that or it should be a forced mini-stun on nearly any attack. Non-BCable attack strings will keep going if you hit a yokai with a brute BC.

I'd also make them cost more or at least have the cost scale tho that depends on how anima meter works. The only way to upgrade your meter seemed to be from core effects and one skill upgrade that only gave you .6 increase with level 2 bumping it .9 so i'm curious if those will be the only way to increase them and we won't get significant boosts in the amount of anima. Personally I prefer it this way but it just surprises me

Is that Carrie Anne Moss?

Pretty much, they nerfed it hard since the Beta but they're still whining that it's too hard and unfun for them.

...well that's not as cool as expected but whatever. I'm extremely disappointed that beating Hisahide and Mezuki gives you nothing.

I use it to show off the abs, I tried to make Daidouji from Senran Kagura

Attached: ESArFGvUEAE-eFY.jpg (1920x1080, 379K)

like half an hour ago when i last played
all the stances are useful

Only thing worse is flatfags that think they're any better,

Black goth look clashes with mommy aesthetic, lips are too thin

It's taking a bit of time for me to get used to Nioh again so i'm not constantly switching to the proper stance when attacking most of the time. Thankfully odachis low stance attacks aren't that bad, just not nearly as good as high or mid stance

The game needs more fun parries like the ones the katana has. The kusarigama has two new "parries" but they don't feel good at all. It's so fun using Haze and Water Shadow and I really wish other weapons could have multiple options like that.

Why do enemies take little to no hitstun? It's fucking annoying.

What I dislike more than waifu fags are anyi-waifu fags. Who gives a shit dude, there are tons of other posts you can reply to.

Low int post, slightly above/below average>flat>fat cow

If you even need to ask that question, you're playing the game wrong.

Leaf Glide is a fun one too, don't discount it just because it doesn't have a riposte to follow with, the attack boost lasts for quite a while.
The Odachi's new parry is also fun to use.

fuck i want to try something new for a first playtrough when the game releases but i fear i'll just odachi my way trough it

Who gives a fuck
Those waifufags probably keep the community more alive than you, you can always reply to other stuff in the thread

When people are talking about waifus he can't lash out at people for using a weapon he thinks doesn't require skill.
How else is he going to show everyone how good he is at the game?

anti*, fuck.

Yeah it's nowhere close to the ogress mask and oni helmet from the nioh 1 beta.
Btw does anyone know what the pre-order armor set looks like?

Same could apply to you. If you dislike that post why draw more attention to it? Practice what you preach.

Depends on the weapon. Some weapons seem to have super dogshit low stances and the stance is only used for dodging and putting extra skills on.

>we could have had the bladed claw and greaves from NG2
>instead, we get shitty hatchets

Do it. It's fun. If you just do the main missions (I think there are about 20 of them?), it shouldn't take you anymore than like 10-12 hours to go through, especially since you already know what you're doing and how to level up your character.

low stance is ideal for inflicting status effects

That nigga’s armor is so damn aesthetic I use it for the rest of my play through for ng+ and ng+ dlc. I struggled a lot too as there’s no good builds off the armor but it didn’t care much.

Favorite possessed weapon? For me its the granny blade, I love to hunt monsters with my sweet grandma

Why can you find Moveset display videos for every single game ever made but the Team Ninja games? It's so aggravating. Some autist should get on that.

Attached: She's in.png (1231x599, 666K)

Here you go. There's also a weapon set but that's a separate image. Same name for it, though, it comes with the Digital Deluxe edition.

You could say causing this infighting is keeping things alive as well.

Attached: NiohPreorderBonus.jpg (1600x900, 246K)

Because it would be easy to stunlock enemies. With yokai enemies, while they typically have a fuck ton of hyper armor on everything they also typically have long recovery after moves and their lack of hitstun actually becomes a good thing.

For example, lets say a yokai has a 3 hit combo. The combo has little recovery when it's done so you don't get much of a punish BUT if you dodge the first hit and get behind them, you get a meaty punish as they do the rest of their combo without being stunned as opposed to fighting a human enemy who would get hit then immediately be able to block/dodge the next attack

how are hatchets shit? their guard break is really good when you get the skills for it

>negress
It's fine if she's hot

Will there be coomer armors like this in the game? Asking for a friend.

I mean this very strongly when I say almost everyone is absolutely positively terrible at videogames. I mean reading, thinking, making the barest minimum of the above or any basic adaption possible no matter how small, but they will sit there and lie to your face about how terrible and unfair and badly designed it is when they have completely no idea how anything works because they can't stop after dying to read short text hints that can guide them to a tutorial when they have no other option to do anything while it's loading. I mean, you think it does permanent Ki damage, that's very false. It slows your Ki regen speed, while increasing your Anima regen, making Yokai Skills more powerful and making Yokai Shift last longer. The benefits far outweigh the weaknesses (which don't exist if you simply Ki Pulse) but need someone to think slightly so it's baaaaaad.

I remember finding some very obscure channel that showed the full movesets for a couple of the weapons in NGB, but other than that nothing. It's surprising, given how consistently the gameplay in these games is lauded.

Why didn’t you just refashion good armor to look like it

Uh, you do know you can just refashion everything? Was that not a thing before dlc or something?

Odachi/Scythe, though i will probably use all the weapons through the run

Real men don't hide their armor. They dedicate themselves to it.

Odachi and Katana. The Odachi may not have gotten many new moves (at least so far according to the three demos we've had), but the moves it did get make it such a more fun weapon to play. The new parry is incredibly satisfying and can even parry yokai. The block stance isn't as useful but feels muscular as fuck.

Speaking of muscular, they've buffed the old "Charging Bull" move for Odachi (it's the mid-stance triangle combo ender that looks like a quick overhead smack). This move now drains insane ki from enemies that are blocking. With the basic combo you see in webm related, I was able to easily kill so many revenants. It feels like an appropriate move for such a big weapon. You literally use the weight of the weapon to push your opponent down. It looks and feels satisfying to pull off.

As for the katana, well, it's old faithful. I love the katana in Nioh 1 and the new shield smack it got in Nioh 2 feels so powerful.

Attached: odachi parry.webm (1600x900, 2.87M)

You know what's funny, 2 years ago i didn't like to play as women in games and now i even prefer it.
When i was jobless and went full neet for a year, i ended up cooming almost everyday. That's the only thing i did and playing games of course. During that time i even started playing nier automata, a game that i didnt want to play precisely because the protagonist was a girl.
Cooming too much definitely leads to being a tranny. So for anyone reading, please stop jerking off to porn, you'll lose your hair too.

Attached: balding.jpg (500x1000, 127K)

Redpill me on the kusarigama's base attacks and some of the skills. I'm just not feeling the light/heavy attacks on each stance and some of the skills seem cool but I don't understand their point. Like the shoryuken (jumping uppercute type move) looks cool but what the fuck is the point? Looks like it just leaves you open to get punished hard. Also the charged pull moves are cool but HOLY fuck the recovery is SO long and it takes so long for a perfect ki pulse to come up. It has some nice yokai skill combos (like pulling an enemy towards you then paralyzing with the snake lady scream) but if you can't use one of them because no anime then why the fuck would you ever use this move?

>a big sword and an even bigger sword

Attached: 1581853072167.png (410x598, 160K)

>The Odachi may not have gotten many new moves
You make it sound like the other returning weapon types have gotten more new skills. Is that even the case? IIRC most weapons have gotten two new skills and that's it.

Man

I want a new Sengoku Basura game where I can play Date's bodyguard

Gauntlet/claw when?
Kanabo when?
Nunchucks when?

Kill yourself.

I just want SB4 for the west, we din't even fucking get SB3 Utage.

Seconding

>the revival of /ng/ will quickly be replaced by a cesspool of waifus and coomers.
You say that like it's surprising. These are the people that created Ayane, Kasumi and brought about the entire Dead or Alive series.

High stance heavy is the ultimate cheese tool

We need some sai!

>solo the boss while host cowers in the corner
>boss moves slightly toward the host and swings once
>host dies
Every time

Attached: 1569617790423.jpg (730x720, 117K)

That's pretty neat looking. Do you happen to have the image with the weapons?

>charging bull
I fucking loved that move in 1, even though it was only useful against shitty humans.
Don't make me play Odachi again, I want to try new shit.

>host charges directly into enemy grab and instantly dies
Hilarious

>I'm just not feeling the light/heavy attacks on each stance
Normal high is your bread and butter, attacks very fast and is great for both racking up damage and inflicting elemental blights and other debuffs on your enemy. Low stance is very similar but smaller and I think you can break out of it eariler. Mid stance is meant to be wide sweeps for when you're facing multiple foes but you might as well just syphon them through a hallway to make things easier on you.

Heavy attacks I admit I haven't used that much so I'll let someone more experienced explain that bit.

I was thinking of going full autism mode with Nioh 2 and analyzing every attack in the game i.e. stamina cost, recoverable ki, damage, ki damage, red ki damage (if applicable, startup, fastest recovery, recovery after ki pulse, etc, etc, etc. Only problem is idk how easy it would be to figure out some of this stuff since my stats and weapon effects would have some sway on all of this so i'm not entirely sure how I could get the most accurate results for the "base" stats of each attack

Are you talking about the foot throw or wolf's rage? Whenever I try to do the guard break after getting blocked the enemy just takes a single step back and it misses completely.

>SB5 that has characters from the 1900s never ever

High Stance heavy is a poke tool, Med Stance Heavy is a really useful close range slash and low stance heavy is similar to medium

The tracking is garbage from what i've seen.

1kat/bare-hands for human enemies
Exorcism set for refashioning
Old gruff jap dude

Feral dodge is extremely good, and it became far easier to deal with most Burst Attacks using it as well as getting the very awkward feeling full invincibility. The dodge covers far more distance than any single dodge while costing no Ki and being cancellable from anything, including a dodge. The recovery is a very necessary balance factor.
The Ki damage Phantom takes when blocking is largely based on how well you time the guard I believe, but you can still dodge out afterwards like usual to minimize unnecessary guarding, and otherwise a successful guard still recovers nigh instantly and if you guard nothing it's still pretty quick. A 1 Anima full guard with no Ki cost would be ridiculous.
You can just build for it, wear heavier armour, get more health and debuff enemy attack, or not use it in places it won't work well in. All the Burst Counters have these tradeoffs to make them good but not overly abusable so they can be cheaper and used much more often. Increasing the cost therefore is just a terrible idea.

I'm trash at the Last Chance beta so I've started the original instead.
Does it ever get, like, comfortable?
I'm always basically two hits away from death. It's a nightmare.

It has great range and at a certain distance enemies just charge right into it, if they block it does heavy ki damage, and on basic yokai it breaks horns super easily

It's the only one that doesn't cut off your tits if you have max chest size. Honestly I wish you could refashion the bare chest bandages on a piece of gear.

Attached: ESDQXngWoAEbXk6.jpg (3840x2160, 605K)

Just googled it up. As far as I know this is the only image that has popped up of them, or at least the only one I've seen from when I researched preorder bonuses, which is a shame as you can only see them partially.

I'm really curious as to what the kodama charms do in-game, too.

Now, now. I thought the "anti-waifufags" were the ones that were meant to be horribly mean and a poison to this community

Attached: Nioh2Preorder2.jpg (1024x724, 138K)

really really really wanna pre-order this game but I likely won't have the money by then. Already put in 10+ hours into the LCT. The game goes above and beyond any of my expectations for the sequel despite what retards wanna say about the game just being nioh 1.5

Break your nose.

Now that you mention it, I thought the bandages there were meant to be part of the Ferryman's armor, but now that I think about it the armor itself is only the scale bra and they were too lazy to remove the bandages.

kek i came here to post this. nioh's community will turn to absolute fucking garbage, just like MH. 99% faggots posting about their waifu and stupid shit. i hate this place.

Nope, you are gonna feel that through the rest of the game. There are times when you can resist 3-4 hits, but shit really depends on what enemy or boss youre fighting and what attacks they hit you with.
You gotta learn to evade and parry

Attached: bc2.jpg (600x523, 42K)

whatever the high stance one is where you press triangle after getting blocked. only complaint i have for hatchets is that the throws are too weak, but i also didn't spec into them at all so they could probably get better

i have the required autism but not the hardware.

yeah it's this one:
youtube.com/watch?v=FIvfavFGH5I&list=PLLkZiKEkqWjIE1AnCazGg0j8y5j6LLPp7

Good for new players, but should be taken with a grain of salt since he has Karma fag disease. Also i just want a showcase with no talking, just to appreciate the animations and get people interested in these games. I think Team Ninja makes the coolest moves, DOA, NG and Nioh all have really cool movesets.

Eh, those weapons don't look so great. Guess i'll still get the deluxe because of the season pass though

>people making their character anything other than Japanese
I’m more annoyed by this than I should be, it’s kind of immersion breaking if nobody treats you like your a different race

>but not the hardware.
What do you mean?

But the demons are immersive.

He doesn't have a pencil to write everything down.

>digital deluxe is the same price as the physical collectors edition (90€) in my country
Sweet

There are tons of cheese strats if you want to go down that path but if you play normally then no, you are meant to die a lot. Very late game, like NG++, you can get good enough gear where regular enemies won't bother you much though.

I dont get why people complain about it being Nioh 1.5. The only thing i wanted for a sequel was more yokai so you dont have to fight the same 5 things all the time and more weapons, and it delivers that and much, much more

capture cards?, now i don't even have a way to render the videos even

The big thing about learning the Kusarigama is understanding the shift between fast and short range, and slow and wide/long range that it's moveset is based around. Each attack in the base moveset is very effective mainly at what it's designed for. Leaping Strike is a high damage single hit skill, the kind that is strong for human out of Ki combos. The pull moves don't have long recovery at all, provided you don't miss you can Ki Pulse the moment you land, and there are some skills that even come out faster from them. So don't miss. Also, you don't always have to wait for a Perfect Pulse, that's the beauty of the system, you can use it for animation cancelling or Ki recovery as the situation and your Ki demands.

If you're unconvinced the armor set and Sudama charm are pre-order bonuses for any digital edition as well. You could get the regular one and grab the Season Pass later down the line, I recall the one for Nioh 1 went on sale before even all the content was out so you could save some money that way.

I haven't played the new demo. Is it true you can't burst counter every attack anymore?

Attached: 1583082317589.gif (220x203, 347K)

imo it's better to have this stuff in text format. If I wanna know which of 2 moves are faster without testing it myself it's easier for me to look up a wiki page or a google document than try and find the part in a video that shows it off.

Having not played Nioh'd DLC, whats the deal with Tonfas? Any moves to unlock asap for it? They seem pretty fun and mobile, but the high stance attacks for it use my entire stamina bar in one hit, it's crazy.

He is right

I was drunk off my ass, managed to clear the castle and boss fairly easily, missed about 60% of the kodama though so had to go back

Japan had a fair share of relations with Spain and Portugal back then, with missionaries and stuff, which is what ended up leading to the closed border policy in a way. So European looking characters wouldn't be that unheard of even if they wouldn't be treated quite the same.

There is still large recovery from my experience. Every attack has a certain amount of recovery before your ki bar starts filling up which allows you to ki pulse as soon as possible and cancel the rest of the recovery. the ki bar doesn't start filling up the instant an attack is in recovery. Might show an example of what I mean

Attached: Kusa sequence.webm (822x636, 2.9M)

William, in the first Nioh game, was a fucking white englishman and everyone seemed to like him. I did. Didn't even bother me that he went to Japan and killed everyone and got involved in some demon/political war going on across the country.

I suppose I can see what you mean though, like everyone is Japanese and you're running around as some black or white guy. There was a black samurai in the first Nioh game who was adopted by Nobunaga.

To a not-obsessed player they looked extremely cool but felt very flimsy (just like the hatchets do in 2). Especially compared to the DLC weapon that came before it, the brutish odachi.

>Take all the Shifter traits to deal with Yokai Realm
>It becomes a joke

Feels comfy

>yfw nioh 2 threads will be 80% waifufaggotry
besides that, i really liked William and the fact that we had a main character, but now with a character creator it'll just be another lifeless 3d model where even the NPCs will feel lifeless because they are interacting with a soulless model.

God damn, I'm getting Ryomen Sukuna down to a sliver of health and dying to those bullshit arrows. He catches me when I'm too far away to burst counter and then I get fucking plastered.
If the boss fight music wasn't so fucking amazing, I would be furious.

>midriffs are the best.
Based as fuck

I was talking about moveset display videos originally, just like there are for other action games.

You can't but that's a good thing. The problem is that there are some attacks which you can BC that don't have the big giant red flash on startup but there is no other indication that the move can be BC'd. It seems like a complete trial and error thing.

No they're not, you're probably not using them right. You gotta be chucking axes all the time and fluxing between stances for your different throws. Boulder breaker is excellent for chaining after a hurl to throw another axe while also giving you space to throw another. Dragonfly is good for holding the enemy in place for more hurls. Put nimble slice on it since its not for damage anyways, its for breathing room. Lethal barrage in high stance is also very good melee damage that can be extended with a finisher if you have time. Get the light versions of the hurls since they charge quicker. Hatchets just need some of their skills unlocked before they really get going. If you use them right, you can constantly be harrasing enemies with axes from a short distance.

The main thing getting in the way of "base" stats would be the choices at the beginning, but there's both PvP with set gear which I'm sure will be back in 2 and a records page that shows your total damage and Ki damage dealt which you can use to compare. As far as the choices you can always just restart a few times, and you can use level 1 white rarity weapons with no damage effects if you don't want to find some other baseline, since I think the most important part would just be the comparisons within the moveset.

You seem fairly knowledgeable. Does Kusarigama have any lackluster/bad skills that you're better off not getting or that will end up being overwritten by better ones anyway?

Did you just BRAP on that demon? Lol that's such a stupid animation for poison gas or whatever. You literally turn around and fart on them.

This desu.
Is you character even voiced anymore?

It's a yokai ability from a yokai that does the same thing.

Wear. Heavier. Armour.
You can also level health and use attack debuffs but heavier armour will see the most immediate change.

Yeah I kind of hate that they implemented a character creation system since, as you said, it'll be mostly waifufags.

Unlocking ASAP I'd say the Demon Dance plus follow ups you can't go wrong with, since you turn your Ki pulses into dodges that you can just attack quite effectively out of and it's nice overall.
I also like the Hold Triangle attack a lot, but the range is more limited than you'd think from a charged dash attack.

Oh, well I haven't played the demo so I wasn't sure how anything in Nioh 2 works. I just thought it was funny how you're literally farting on the enemy.

>nioh 2 threads will be 80% waifufaggotry
And that's a good thing.

Fellow Summon bros. What was the Pub-Breaker of Nioh 1?

I have a feeling it was tied between Ice Queen Bitch and Umi-Bozo. Everytime I got summoned to those maps the host ate shit so quickly

So is feral the only one worth using then? Since if you don't burst counter with brute you'll get hit and phantom still uses ki as if you were blocking.

I feel tempted to try it, but how do I grind shifter points again? Just dump my cores?

I love how my girl moans when she dies, but I absolutely loathe the new version of the main theme
I guess she'll have to be alive so I don't hear that shit

>TFW everyone goes for heavy armor
>Just want to play as a weeb animu samurai with a katana

I hate the aesthetics of heavy armor. I know historically samurai wore heavy armor, but anime has ruined that look for me.

just replaying nioh 1 before 2 comes out and i get what you mean
not that nioh had a great story or whatever, but i liked the characters and they had a charm to them
not touching 2 until full release so i can't say shit about it, but honestly i can't imagine the characters from the first game interacting with a random character model. takes away the weight of the game and the fights.

Yeah, it just depends on how easy it is to get setup testing. The game lets you reset all stats, it's unconfirmed but another user claimed the book of reincarnation no longer resets skills and you can reset skills for free at the dojo.

>Blade catching

Damn, forgot you could do that in the first game. I remember it did pretty good damage if you could land it.

>wearing armor designed for dodging
>getting hit
your fault

In Nioh 2 yokai sometimes drop soul cores that when equiped let you use an attack from that same yokai, even bosses. The fart was from an enemy that uses farts that give you the stink status

TRUE samurai play with heavy armor
Odachi/katana or Spear/Katana exclusively and a matchlock as ranged weapon.

I love the Skeleton Archer attack, reminds me a lot of Dawn of Sorrow what with summoning two skeletons at your sides to fire at the enemy but it's a shame it's kind of crap.

>Using a gun

Pleb

>samurai weren't using guns
Educate yourself.

I swear a solid 80% of my random toriis was some schmuck on the Umi-Bozu level.

Yes, Feral and Phantom can't do it anymore, instead they just always default to dodging or blocking. Strangely I've only found a single attack where it works how it used to, the sword Yoki's overhead swing, which considering that the Flux lock on movement glitch is still in the game I have to assume is just a fuckup on their part because they're terrible at implementing these changes.
>spoiler
I hate you and everything you stand for. But really making Burst Counters extremely easy to deal with Burst Attacks while cutting down on their options outside of them is ruining what made the mechanic so excellently implemented to begin with, regardless of how useful they still are as general purpose tools.

>hey look at cute waifu #13251
literally posted another blank page

Excellent taste. Both in weapons and armor.
The Exorcist Set and the Firestarter one are my favourites by far from what I've seen.
As much as I liked the unarmed counter in the first game I could never get it down.

Did they show ALL the attacks/cores you can get in the demo? Surely not. I figured there were a ton you could get, kind of disappointing if the demo shows too much to the player. There will be no surprises to look forward to when the game comes out. Any cool yokai attacks? Like an iai move or some shit?

Hapsburg/10

Dlc

I'm aware, historically, that samurai used guns. But what I'm saying is that you're a pleb faggot if you use a gun/ranged weapon in Nioh or any game that is more focused on melee fighting/weapons. A lot of lazy assholes use bow and arrows or ranged weapons because they can't git gud with melee so they stand in the back and spam ranged attacks.

the range isn't that much better. I took comparison pics earlier, i'll edit together in a second
>The recovery is a very necessary balance factor.
They don't need that kind of balancing tho. Again, not saying feral isn't good but the recovery just feels stupid, especially since dodges don't have that kind of recovery. Having a dodge you can perform at any time that conserves ki is great but it bothers me how i'll do a dodge then have to briefly pause my inputs because you stand in yokai unable to attack for a couple of frames.
>A 1 Anima full guard with no Ki cost would be ridiculous.
It really wouldn't tho.

he's referring to not being able to burn out on Nioh. it's too fun and there's always something to learn. so you'll likely never reach that point.

It's hard for me to make characters that don't feel like they fit in the world they inhabit. At least I can try to make them look kool.

Attached: Annotation 2020-02-29 195056.jpg (1162x907, 93K)

Switch glaive is a retarded idea when everything else is a real historical weapon, and I hate that it's the most fun to use.

Yuki Onna definitely shit on people, but most of the time it was idiots who walked into umi bozo's fight with all torches unlit and just ate his hyper beam immediately.

I made a thing.

If unarmed builds can take off this time around I reckon you could do some cool stuff by comboing into the Abherrant Soldier's "rocket punch" Soul Core.

Attached: Demo final de Nioh 2_20200301100241.jpg (3840x2160, 476K)

>game lets you make armor look like whatever you want
>use low tier armor anyway and get rekt
Why would you do that

Sai would be too similar to Tonfa plus they already added another dual wield weapon in the base game. Sai are forever doomed to have no representation in vidya.

1 had the Yagyu set which rewarded parrying, using a 1kat and kept you nimble. Surely there'll be an equivalent this time around. Not to mention theres also that backflip you can do after a low stance chain if you're wearing light armor.

Attached: Yagyu_Garb.png (508x764, 490K)

>not using the most effective method to dispose of enemies because muh honor
>implying you can stand back and spam ranged attacks.
If an enemy lets you do that, he wasn't a threat to begin with.

lol i burn out the minute it stops being an action games and turns into Diablo shit

Feral is generally the best yeah. Brute is the easiest to BC most moves and getting a low anima cost combo extension off any attack is awesome but defense is just as good as offense which is what makes feral so good along with it having incredible range when it comes to parrying enemies.
Phantom isn't as great but it's arguably easier to use in a panic unless you're close to losing ki. Phantom can also parry some projectile attacks, teleporting you directly to the enemy.

Attached: Phantom Showcase.webm (1280x720, 2.9M)

I suppose you have a point. I could just transmog heavy armor to look like light armor or something, but it's hard to move and dodge in heavy armor. I just like to have the freedom to dodge and move around. I'm not confident in parrying and countering.

Someone who liked my Xehanort in the other thread wanted me to make an Ansem, so I gave it a shot. Unfortunately there really isn't a hairstyle that gets it down just right. This is the closest, but it still has the hair in front of the ears which sucks. Oh well. I was gonna try a Xemnas but his hair is far to specific to make that work.

Attached: ESDWxy9XsAAIO4D.jpg (3840x2160, 495K)

Early-mid game Nioh drops better armor like crazy, you would have to refashion after every mission and even then you will probably find something better next mission and replace it

>you can make trannies in Nioh2
so progressive

There's nothing wrong with shooting a bullet or two when the boss is throwing a tantrum or the enemy is in a far to reach place.
Be a shinobi, use everything you have to your advantage.

god fucking damn the girls in this game look so good
gonna play this game with my dick out at all times

>playing fantasy action game
>MUH REALISM

Attached: 1515266137163.png (500x500, 566K)

You don’t have to parry, medium stance blocks are really good

Are armors the same for males and females?

It looks fucking stupid as well, dumb fantasy for retards.

The recovery is different based on whether you pull them or yourself though in your example the earliest Ki Pulse timing was actually barely after if not right on when you went Yoki, but landing an attack fills a portion of the Ki Pulse bar.
Not very many that I can think of, in general almost every skill in the game is worthwhile in some way. I'm unsure of the new guard and attack skills and there's a chance things have been changed (but I've seen barely any real skill changes) but Chain Pull is a bad skill as well as the buff for decreasing dodge Ki costs I'd say. Retreating Strike is not very worthwhile either. Those are the only ones I can think of. However really you should aim to try them all out eventually and see how they fit you.

It costs next to nothing

pls tell me the tonfagun is in nioh 2

Unironically yes. All options are the same across genders with the chest slider being the only major difference. You can give a female character full facial hair.

you look stupid

I'm a brainlet so I didn't understand Shinobi playstyle at all in the first game. Seemed too complex or maybe I just didn't understand the build pattern and what I was suppose to do. It was a lot simpler to run around with a sword or melee weapon and play the game normally. Shinobi had poison and all these things you had to micromanage and shit.

your mom looked stupid all over my dick last night

it is

It's a rehash of 1 with extra stuff, of course it's in.

Yes, it's even in the trial/demo

Oh, that was me. I thought you might have missed it, thanks a lot.
Yeah, I figured the hairstyle would be the toughest part to get down but you've still done a pretty decent job, though I think his skin tone is a bit brighter. Cheers

Also a guy I know tried to make Jolyne. Here's her code if anyone likes her.

Attached: Jolyne.jpg (901x342, 35K)

Is it possible to recreate Maria in Nioh 2? I think so right? Her hair is in the game at least

Attached: 4391h4vnak001.jpg (1280x720, 69K)

You shouldn't really let people know your standards are that low.

Onryoki and Hino-Enma were the casual filter.
Umi-Bozu and his level were the pleb filter.
Muneshige is schooltime and his duel is the final exam.

stop telling me these things dad

Ansem's skin tone always felt pretty inconsistent to me so I kinda just winged it, but you're probably right.

You might just get her as a skin desu.
I know William is in

>flux lock on movement glitch

What?

but i want to dress her like a cute maid

I didn't check to see if they made it free, but I can otherwise confirm it's done at the Dojo.

fair point.

I'm not gonna run around and cut down some coomer soldier firing rocks at me when I could just send an arrow or three its way.
Also trying to beat Maria without bow cheese was the worst shit ever. No thanks

The demos just showed us 4 levels, there are probably much more Yokai we haven seen yet.
>Any cool yokai attacks? Like an iai move or some shit?
There are some cool ones.
The core of the Monkey Yokai makes you turn temporarily into one of them, jump really high into the air and throw a trident to your objective. This one is really useful to avoid attacks.
The Nurikabe core (the wall yokai) summons a Nurikabe that starts slamming the enemies with his fists and finishes with a super slam with the two fists clenched together (i think this one also increases your defense, but i can be wrong).
The Yokai boss serpent summons the serpent boss yokai, who starts charging through the enemies (this one deals a shitload of damage if you position yourself correctly).
The Ryomen core (the flexile sentry boss) turns you momentarily into Ryomen, and you start spinning really quick while using your weapons. This one causes fire and water damage while also causing the respective status effects, it also deals a lot of damage.
The core of the hammer yokai turns you temporarily into the hammer yokai and hit your enemies with a huge fire hammer that causes a fire explosion.

There are some other pretty cool ones, but these are the ones i remember the most

Speaking of, I was pretty surprised back with the first game that the Ninjutsu tree didn't give you anything like poisoned or fire arrows, since they seem like such a nobrainer. I'm glad they added them this time around.
I'm curious as to how far you can go with a full ranged playstyle.

cute, share?

So boys, what's everybody's favourite weapon skill? Did they add anything good for your main weapon?

Good to know the characters have a good navel this time
Doa6 was kinda lame in that aspect

>1kat
>cannon
>heavy armor
Oh look its my build

Don't forget the one about the flying Yokai with a pipe. The Core has you start levitating, swing that pipe over your head and create a series of flame orbs that attack enemies.
Not strong, but cool for sure.

That's an Odachi

>If unarmed builds can take off this time around
Still doesn't have a proper moveset

Lock onto something, then do a Flux while holding back. When you recover from the animation and start walking backwards you turn around in the direction you're running but then start turning back to face your target. This is most likely a holdover from Nioh 1's Alpha, where movement always worked in that way, walking or blocking kept you facing the enemy but running let you turn in any direction. It's been in the series ever since then.

You should note that the nurikabes attack has to have you input each attack when activating which is good if you do it in a bad situation and aren't forced to take damage as you wait for all 3 hits to come out.

Yoki is a command grab on humans and a hyper armor 2 hitter on yokai that does heavy damage and breaks horns easy, snek lady gives armor and paralysis beam on people in front of you

Looks more like papa nier
Otherwise great job

My favorite weapon skill is either the big slam that leaves a shockwave or twin moves which is the high stance heavy combo ender where you do two rapid slashes.

I wish you could change the color of your bandage boobs, make it skin color and black, anything but white.

Actually, he has both.
Those Samurai had some good taste.

In the first game, is the odachi considered OP or too easy to use?

1kat got a heavy chain finisher where you smack them with the sheathed and an awesome ki burst followup. Super happy with them. Favourite is still Iai strike. No better finisher.

And you can't even Ki Pulse, I know. But as long as the damage can be kept up at least they'll have something going for it.

Say, with how big Japan is as a whole on martial arts it's bizarre that all we have for an unarmed moveset is drunken swinging. Maybe someone should tell them to add a proper unarmed moveset with a DLC, since I recall them saying they were running out of ideas for weapon types.

Did anyone get the skeleton warrior core?
What's its ability

Why can't you cancel your basic attacks into the guard+attack skills? I feel like there's a lot of potential for that but I guess understandably it would make some natural string enders pointless

This x1000000

Bring back william-san and no one else.

Yes, retards cry about it and throw tantrums all the time.
Also no because every weapon is viable with some practice.

has there ever been a character creator that didn't make facial hair look glued on?

Rate my character

Attached: 20200301_213808.jpg (951x845, 328K)

It's japan not china you fuckin retard. Japanese martial arts have always leaned towards armed and not unarmed.

Since you get a grapple attack for downed Yokai that does heavy damage now you might actually be able to beat the game completely unarmed. For humans you do the old blade-catch counter.

A proper move set, or even being able to do longer combos would be nice though

No weapon is, except for maybe Kusarigama if you spammed Blade Spin before it was nerfed to hell. Every other weapon needs at least some effort/specific build to make it OP broken (like the
spin-to-win axe stuff)

You can ki pulse early to do that

iirc in the alpha the skeleton warrior gunmen just summons a skeleton to fire for you. dunno if/what the normal skeleton warriors skill is

kill yourself/10

Attached: Nioh2.webm (480x270, 2.92M)

With all of the gameplay around ki-pulse, I feel like they are missing the potential of guard pulse. I haven’t play the demo of nioh 2. Is there guard pulse in the game? Guard pulse + perfect guard can have some cool synergy together

Axe/Odachi build
Going for a guy that looks like a calm ninja-type character who's actually a violent brute

It's not the same thing since it's not an exact cancel. I want something like the yokai skills except you can't cancel the startup into weapon skills.

Dunno what guard pulse is

>meanwhile in the reality of the nioh 1 general
>I LOVE MARIA CHAN!!!
>everyone uses female disguises

Yeah, she was pretty easy. The only bosses I had trouble with was Nue and Maria.

Burst counters are easily the dumbest new addition. Everything else is great. They slow the gameplay down to a binary “Did you burst counter successfully? Yes? Then boom half their Ki. No? Well enjoy being dead” shit Is lame.

Also what’s with normal Yokai doing 1k plus damage to you, but Rape-horse barely tickles?

why cut his dick off?

Considering the dodge also costs no Ki and again can be cancelled into from anything, the distance is extremely good. It's not meant to entirely replace your dodges but augment your other actions and give you extra movement as well as letting you commit more heavily. Even normal dodges have a opening where you can be hit, it's the same thing scaled up to be appropriate for how much more it offers you.
It absolutely would be ridiculous when you again consider that you can do it from any other action, as well as that it blocks sequences of attacks all in Yokai form. Make them too good and you make them braindead broken and spammable. Make them more costly and you take away the engaging utility they offer. Despite everything they found perhaps the perfect balance. Then fucked it up a bit in this Trial but whatever.

>That sheathing animation

Kek

Freckles look dumb, not a fan of the face tat, other than that it’s fine

Cringe editing, he's literally just fighting the most basic enemy

Fuck Sukuna's arrow burst attack. That literally kills me more than anything

People are really salty about the odachi. It is a very strong weapon thats friendly to beginners, but in order to make full use of all its combos you need to actually develop some skill. Its biggest strength in my opinion is the ability to change your light/strong attacks to a different stance with waking winds and sunset breeze and continue on using combos from that stance. It's a simple concept, but its really cool what you can do with it. Don't let what other people say stop you from using it, its a fun weapon.

Nioh 3 where you play as Hasekura Tsunenaga going through Europe chasing someone who stole Amrita and you have to stop them before they use it to kill Date Masamune's bro, The Pope.

>Axe/Odachi
redondant

To add to this, I'm gonna switch out the Odachi for the inevitable Kanabo dlc weapon when it comes out

Attached: Kanabo.jpg (674x1600, 65K)

I mean that it would cool if they have something like guard pulse in the game. For example, there’s ki pulse for dodging, switching stance, switching pulse etc. It would be cool if they have a pulse that activates on guard command and it can have synergy with builds around perfect guards

>completely misses the scabbard when sheathing

Shamefur dispray

The thing is, I died a fair amount against a lot of bosses but spider bitch was a total cakewalk.

>game where you can make cute girls
>can also BRAP on the enemy

What were they thinking?

Attached: 1229907264030.gif (320x311, 26K)

It's still kind of hard to entirely call a best one, Feral was made far too easy to use on them but each enemy specifically has different Burst Attacks that are naturally suited to be dealt with using different Burst Counters. Phantom still has a lot less recovery too.

I thought Yea Forums was a fuku board

So what's the things I put onto shifting to make it extend like crazy again?
Also, I wish they could go more crazier with the customisation options for Yokai forms, but I can see why it's just really horns and hair retention

Unarmed would basically be Jujutsu

I hate this Reddit slowmotion meme so much

I just beat flexile sentry
spamming burst counter makes him go from impossible to cake, I think this is actually worse than living weapon or any of the other so good it's mandatory shit from the first game.

Is there a reason to -not- use blessed/yokai weapons all the time?

>Low quick does pretty significant damage now with the buff, you can safely dish out quite a lot in any situation where you might not want to commit.
It has some damage backloaded at the end of the string, but the end of the string also involves multi-hit moves which you can't dodge out of which are actually riskier than just switching from your first low into mid. Even if you commit to the long attacks it's still noticably less damage than Highs, I only really see it being useful to mop up something weak and staggerable.

>Mind's Edge also works on every attack, like Earthly Flow.
Think you've got the wrong skill name there, Mind's Edge is the Mid Quick followup.

>Focused Retribution isn't worth using if you're not charging it due to it being the same or slower and doing the same damage as high strong, where quicks would give more utility.
I'd generally agree, there's not a big difference between the two but it does still deal more damage with more range for less than half the Ki. At the cost of committing and a wind up. Empty Retribution again is about the same damage as 2x High Quick but it deals about 50% more Ki damage and costs much less Ki again. They have minor niches.

>Divine Retribution's speed buff makes it downright incredible as a general damage opener and positioning tool.
I don't know how you'd call it a damage opener when your recovery after landing it is long enough that you're usually on the back foot defending after you use it, at least against anything with HA. I also can't get it to dodge over Flexile Sentry's Ki recovery spin which is depressing

What are you talkinh about? Onryoki couldn't be any easier

Literally the most boring opinion

a spear

tonfas

Sure it was before the dlc.
I’m disappointed that william doesn’t have get more love-hate chemistry with maria

It's an odd one. On a basic beginner level it's extremely powerful and easy to use, owing to it's strong range, damage (like every weapon because every weapon is a bit OP thanks to inflated damage), decent speed, extremely high Break stat and it having some very powerful basic skills you can start throwing out. But if you start actually getting into learning how it works (or use a wooden one because they don't have the Break stat for some reason) it becomes much more technical and interesting but requires a bit more work to understand. Overall it's a very strong weapon, but every single weapon is when you understand how to use it, it's just that Odachi, similar to Kusarigama with some particular moves it has, can act as a crutch for people just starting that can stop them from learning what they really should be learning.

Anyone else having a hard time getting used to burst counter? The buttons combinations in this game is so fucking awkward, you have to hold a shoulder button to block, other to switch stance another one to use yokai skills. I end up forgetting I have these yokai shit everytime.

What? Nothing I talked about mentioned the quickdraw skill at all. Do you even know what the odachi skills are?

Max bust slider is the first thing literally anyone does in games that have it and it looks like shit with 90% of armors as well as the basic chest wraps, huge tits are only good with armor designed for it

I wish the bust slider was called the age slider.
(where my DoA2 niggas at?)

This is definitely my least favorite alpha/beta/trial so far. FUCK Sukura, FUCK having to fight the Ornstien and Smough and the tengu before fighting not-Ludwig, and goddamn that map BGM was fucking terrible.

Still hyped for the game, though.

Can you make Lu Bu and show all those lowly Japs who's boss?

The same people who cry about Odachi needing no skill are the same people who abuse Iai slash on the katana and think it makes them good.

I hope her outfit's available as armor

>Have trouble with boss
>Fish for burst counters
>Easily beat it by being patient and running away like a coward
If they removed them the game would be much better.

I like it.

Because Hatchets can do that and they need to be special. Although it's less of a direct cancel and more that you can do them at the earliest possible Ki Pulse point instead. It doesn't act as a Ki Pulse though.
If you mean doing a Ki Pulse after guarding something, that's a feature of Blessed weapons, some weapons you can get come with that property. It's really cool so I'm surprised they haven't ruined it like they did Dodge Pulse and Combo Pulse, though since it's only for specific weapons so far that's pretty restrictive already.

yes

What level did you beat Sakuma at boys? Level 8 for me.

Oh, my mistake then.

Cute

Some shitty Korean mmo probably has it beat.

The maria plot-line feels so pointless, she just fucks off after the dlc and you never deal with that. Also wirriam is for kasumi and ayanes ancestor only

Only if they give us a way to fix giraffe neck

this ninja bitch had the CUTEST feet

The easiest boss there ever was.

Figured I'd go all the way and try making YX as well. Something I've realized is that male hair customization options aren't actually that great. The only long "male" hair that doesn't have some sort of tie or ponytail is the first one, and that one has no customizability at all.

Attached: ESDfRp0X0AQW_hd.jpg (3840x2160, 503K)

She’s really easy in ng but somehow got really strong in the ng+, especially her special side mission challenges. I think her moveset is really deadly with the ng+ damage boost

This, I'm starting to notice it more and more.

The Yoki core was a damn godsend against Toshiie Maeda in the first demo, you could stunlock him really easily

make the character head bigger

Yeah they patched that out it seems, tried it on bomb boy and it just did the melee attack version instead of the grab, still works on normal npc and revenants though

Fighting her and Hanzo was a real pain.

lmao2kat+odachi for me.

Attached: SotC.webm (1280x720, 2.12M)

damn I always forget about that mechanic

So I noticed on longer counter combos like the tengus spin you can get the brute parry if you hit it at any point in the spin, is that true for the dodge counter and block counter too?

who do you have in your hut?

Attached: Nioh 2 Last Chance Trial_20200301024227.jpg (1920x1080, 489K)

I'm talking about the main brunt of the string, though of course it's not going to compare to a high stance attack but it very easily outpaces mid stance and you can dodge easily from most of it.
Fuck. If only I had the game up now. I meant the mid stance parry type attack of course that circles round them if timed right.
Perhaps, but in those situations I'd much rather go for something like Thin Air or even high strong and then switch attack and go from there, and save Focused for the much bigger openings or if they're spazzing out at a distance. It's really good for punishing Hisahide's bomberman move for example. Though now I'm thinking about it, Path of Three always felt like a decent midrange gapcloser but it might be even more versatile due to the switch attack after.
By damage opener, I mean like on an out of Ki Yokai or something to start up your combo because it lets you flip right over and immediately get to their back and start swinging, plus the switch attack comes out really fast if I remember right, or at least fast enough.

>That one quest were you have to fight her and Hanzo at the same time
Do not bring back bad memories please, i already had forgotten that shit.
Dual bosses in Nioh 1 were some of the most cancerous shit in my gaming career

nure-onna

The cat.

Cuuuute

They were made for cheese 1 shot everything builds. If you try to play fair you're gonna get stomped.

What is the fart skill called and where do you get it?

Attached: toobs.png (444x306, 54K)

the rat soul core

Yes, any Burst Attack that's comprised of them wilding out and doing several attacks, you can Counter any of those attacks and it will beat it.

Yea her + hanzo were particularly hard even when their individual is not too hard. It’s mostly because both are bloody fast and have tons of fast projectiles so they are on your ass almost instantly from across the map when you try to separate them and focus on one first.

who is the main bad guy in nioh 2?

did you even play the demo? it comes from the fart monsters

I still struggled, fuck those quests

dual bosses were the easiest hard skips for me. Fuck that shit.

as a matter of fact, I would believe it

Beat the demo and I have to say: What were they fucking thinking? Feral Counter is the most broken thing they've EVER done. It single handedly breaks combat by removing commitment. Why is there an essentially free animation cancelling mega dodge in the game? The real problem is that it's so liberating to use that I can't stop myself. It fixes so many shitty skills, especially axe skills like the spin.

Try it, do stupid shit in the game and just watch how much you can get away with due to Feral Counter. Finish a massive combo on an enemy and then teleport behind them to start another one. Cancel ANY attack for free Ignore everything.

Attached: 1582308208584.jpg (331x346, 37K)

Sorry user.....it's to late for me. I'm a shitter now.

The only annoying thing about them is the fire puddles they make that last forever. Otherwise, they may very well my favorite new enemy in the game. They have just about as many moves as some of the bosses in Nioh 1.

God I wish Switch Axe was in this.

damn and I was using brute all the time

Alternatively, just brush up your skills with the first because it's damn near the same game.

Blessed weapons don’t talk right?

Since we're half yokai do you think we'll get an ability to create our own twilight realm eventually that slows down enemy ki regen?

Maybe that's one of the Shiftling skills we get as we progress.

Another thing we'll undoubtedly see is the MC learning to decipher the yokai language as the story progresses.

yeah, they are pretty lame

I forgot about the demo, is it too late to play? There's nothing special to obtain if you beat w/e story mission right?

Attached: lxS7ecy.png (240x240, 56K)

shit nice
yeah my connection has been shitty the last few weeks, took like 4 hours to download i think

Don't use them then. 1kat fits on literally every build, everyone levels Heart

>There's nothing special to obtain if you beat w/e story mission right?
CONQUERED

Upsetting, but I like how weapons from the last game like the demon axe and legendary swords now are blessed or cursed, makes them feel more unique

it's going down on EU soon
NA still has half a day or so

Do tonfa/katana

They're all still pretty largely punishable if used wrong, and require Anima to be used which you also need to build up close and to spend on Yokai Skills. I still really hate the changes they made to them though.
>the most broken thing they've EVER done
Oh come on you know that's not even remotely true.
>Mad Spinner
>shitty
That's nowhere near comparable in any way, and Burst Counters and to an extent Yokai Skills are going to be as important to the game as Ki Pulse and stances are. Well, it would have been guaranteed had they not pussied out of making the Dark Realm what it was supposed to be.

If you missed beta 1 the first mission unlocks the ferret helmet

I died 40 times to sukuna

you get a Hat

You know we're just being ironic with the waifushit, right user?
Nobody here is pathetic enough to actually have feelings for a character creator made videogame character.

faggot

>They're all still pretty largely punishable if used wrong
You can't use Feral Counter wrong unless you jump into an AoE attack on purpose. Play the game. Phasing through enemies fucks up their tracking and they always miss. It is game breaking. Also 1 Anima is nothing and will regen in one combo.

I like how scythe heavy attack can cheese anything

looks like a higher res version of the girls in those cheap steam unity porn games

>webms from the Beta
I remember joking that they couldn't possibly make the game significantly worse at that point, but I knew they'd find ways. Why is it the one game where devs listen to what people say is the one where they listen to all the worst feedback and make the worst possible decisions in response?

reminds me of this

Attached: 890780890.jpg (450x720, 107K)

That's what Burst Counters are essentially. They specifically slow down human Ki regen on hit, or it might have been increasing their Ki usage.

is that the legendary fully modeled?

Because shitters cry the loudest?
Other people just get over it and try to beat it. They need to hear more positive feedback on things to preserve, but if things are good, nobody is saying anything.

Is Odachi the only weapon that has moves that constantly change which stance you're in? Feels really cool making my own combos basically with all these skills. Also loving the burst counter shit, it's basically the mikiri counter from Sekiro but uses a meter

How does it change anything? If anything, it only makes it worse.

>timed exclusive
I own a ps4 and refuse to soil my experience on that piece of garbage fucking doorstop
youtu.be/qe_C699lSBM

Switchglaive is Odachi but better

I've played it more than you. The dodge has a long recovery on it that restricts your potential followups and enemies have attacks specifically for when you're behind them, though you can't always guarantee being able to go behind an enemy especially if there's more than one. 1 Anima is cheap but not if you're using it that liberally and also wanting to use Yokai Skills or deal with Burst Attacks.

>that fucking kusarigama yoki
No

Attached: 1561774815072.jpg (1280x720, 104K)

>I've played it more than you
We're in pretty pathetic territory now so I'm not going to respond to you anymore.

The moves aren't as cool though. Too much unnecessary spinny shit.

91 times against 3 victories

He is genuinely the hardest of all the yoki, followed by the cannon ball yoki introduced in the DLC, then the dual katana yoki and finally the axe and the single katana yoki.

Its this pieces of shit for me, their grapple attack its really easy to avoid, but they always get me, im fucking retarded

it wants to but isn't

Based face blind retard. His girl looks like a regular DoA character with makeup, nothing like the abomination you posted.

I don't think these games are hard enough that it really matters. Even in 1 I never bothered with the diablo loot shit and just used whatever

Well, I can at least attest to pointing out what was good and what specific shitter talk not to listen to because of what their attempts at trying to fix it would cause. And wouldn't you know it, your average eceleb is still complaining about it in exactly the same way I predicted they would.

From the guy who brought out "p-play the game", that's pretty rich.

no more than this, guy made no lewds

Stop

They want it to be more like an action game where you're constantly mashing button sequences instead of judging timing and spacing I guess. It does make it very forgiving if you're just chucking out big animations with a safety net, but as grievances go I'll take easy mode escapes over Nioh 1's infinite downstate combos, LW builds, debuff builds and one-shotting any day.

What a waste

>implying end game shit isn't going to be just as broken

They actually nerfed a lot of the bullshit the kusarigama yoki has, which I'm fucking thankful for because they were the one enemy in the game that was actually unfun to deal with due to all the shit they threw onto him. Now he actually feels manageable and like you can have a real fight, while still keeping the strengths of his moveset. Here's hoping my impression doesn't change the more I fight them though.

Why play as a man when you can look at cute chicks? I don't understand where is the gain.

>it's a grab attack one shots you episode

Attached: 4chan frog cringe.jpg (250x174, 5K)

extremely cringe and not based at all. Very disappointed Team Ninja.

So what are people's thoughts on the change to how boss Dark Realms are triggered? While I feel like I better understand the intended flow of the fights, I'm still undecided on whether I prefer it or not, it feels a bit too controlled at times and it's too easy to just constantly put them into and out of Dark Realm when you play well, though maybe the issue there is also with how strong they made max Ki reduction.

maybe I'll get called a casual, but I wish they would do the thing Bayonetta does where any attack that would have killed you leaves you with 1 hp instead and only the next hit will kill you. I guess it wouldn't really work well with the game's healing system but they should maybe do that with grabs that do huge damage

If you check stats you'll see there are a lot of adjustments to numbers which suggest they're taking precautions. All of the stacking damage bonuses on gear are much lower than in Nioh 1. Things like Yokai damage on accessories are at +1% instead of +10%, same for skill damage, high stance damage etc. I've not seen any +% CCD, but the damage numbers on set bonuses are lower too. All signs point to gear having less of an impact on damage.

Wanted more time to practice this one but, rate my switchglaive:
youtu.be/bX09Vncm5j8

Attached: WotN.webm (768x432, 2.95M)

that mechanic was taken from God Hand, a game legendary for being fair in its difficulty. I love that game like you wouldn't believe.

I was getting frustrated at first but then I realize all I have to do is break his horn with an overhead and stunlock him to death

Dont you like the path of explosions user?

Attached: matsunaga.jpg (960x895, 70K)

just keep the tells for their grabs in the back of your mind as you deal with all their other shit.

Honestly getting OP as fuck in Nioh 1 was the most fun I had in this whole generation. Combining ninjutsu with magic, the right stats for your weapon and abilities like this so much fun.

Because you get to be a manly motherfucker surrounded by waifus of course

How long until the beta is over in EU?

the beta ends at midnight

Double Katana aside what weapons have some quickdraw skill?

Oh fuck

>maybe I'll get called a casual, but I wish they would do the thing Bayonetta does where any attack that would have killed you leaves you with 1 hp instead and only the next hit will kill you.
That already exists as a stat

Kusa/Glaive Ninjutsu/Onmyo to start. Probably respec into one or the other once I find out if I'm as good with the Glaive as I am with the Kusa. If the Malefactor set bonus works with the ninjutsu gunpowder bombs, that would be fantastic.

>backstab gets an upgrade that forces enemy to drop an item when he's backstabbed
>it can be a weapon
If it can drop talismans it's good.
If it can drop smithing texts it's genuinely good.

Attached: 1558471136701.jpg (499x326, 127K)

Nioh 1 has that as an effect, a % chance to not die when outside of critical health. It can also be fairly easily stacked to 100% via a Guardian Spirit + Clan combo, though the Guardian Spirit is one of the last DLC ones you get. Besides that though, Quickchange is available infinitely sooner, and is even in the Trial of 2.
And speaking of effects like that, Kingdom Hearts had that as an ability, but from 2 onwards also had an ability that did the same thing but for combos, and if there was to be only one I'd say that's a much better implementation of the concept, though I suppose it depends on the game and the way that game works a grab would count as a combo.

Katana and Odachi.

Almost every, even switchglaive gets a fantastic quickdraw thrust.

Why can't I add characters from the beta demo? user made a cute barbarian I want to play as her

There's already videos of people dog shitloads of damage in the beta. Sloth is still in the game, they took fuck all "precautions"

I remember this user showing the sliders
Devs told us that previous beta character codes won't work.

that's cool that you like shit game design user

Quit doomposting. Sloth became useless on higher difficulties and lasted like 3-4 seconds on bosses on WOTN. In fact, if I remember correctly, on some elites it didn't even work at all. Who cares how it works on regular difficulty.

That's because people are 40 levels above content which is scaled for level 20.

>I've not seen any +% CCD
Actually I found the CCD stat. It's now called Melee Damage and the example I saw was +1.6%.

>I remember this user showing the sliders

If user is out there and if you still have the slider pics, could you post them?

Attached: 1572638521870.jpg (1920x1080, 198K)

Effect stacking was really just one lesser side of the problem, as long as they keep the base damage so severe (your video wasn't even 2 minutes long using a level 1 weapon) in a game that's designed entirely against base damage being that high while tunnel visioning only select cases that expose it, it will always be broken.
Anyway that was a pretty great fight, though you didn't use any Yokai Skills you saw through his spins to punish his openings and really showed just how aggressive you can be on the big guy.

That depressed fuck in your pic
