Dial back aesthetics to ME1 (Probably the only thing right that Andromeda attempted to do)
New crew is not affiliated with any faction. Freighters/transporters by trade, hence the logic behind developing skill trees and learning the ins and outs of different weapons as they begin having run-ins with geth and collectors. Leaves the door wide open for different kinds of adventures and quests.
This is a good idea because it would allow them to softly decanonise 3 and Andromeda. Give up on the Reapers and focus on rapidly multiplying Krogan or an allied Geth/Quarian threat.

It's literally the best of all worlds.
Start of directly off ME3 with a destroy ending that spares the Geth as they had built a refuge. ME relays have been laboriously rebuilt with Salarian tech providing FTL instead of crawling through realspace and it's now some 30 to 50 odd years after the events of ME3. Shepard and many others are MIA. Krogans were unable to cure the Genophage, but have a slightly increased birth rate. Quarians have reached a tentative peace with the Geth, who have relocated to an isolated star cluster and commenced buiding a Dyson Swarm. Turians and Asari have had minor civil wars and humans are fractious and bellicose. Basically the galaxy is a shitshow with isolated pockets of pre-war civility. The Batarians and other minor species think they can take human planets using Prothean and Reaper tech to leverage their position. Show them the error of their ways.
Gameplay wise, ME3 combat mixed a bit of MEA combat would be good, mkae characters a main focus like in ME2, which includes love interests. Lots of gun and armor customisation. A return to a more of a Syd Mead aesthetic. Larege, dense and vertical game hubs that are integrated with Mako. Dial back the large bland sections of MEA. Make us feel like explorers.
Finally the thing that has bugged me is that companions have no agency they do whatever you suggest if you have enough paragon or renegade points. It would kind of a pain to implement a series of scenarios in which companions (dis)like, time, events and so on influenced their actions, don't just leave the party but become antagonists or rivals. Perhaps they leave to obtain intelligence or a weapon motivated by their respect for you. It would be complex but I think very rewarding.
Retcon ME3. Unfuck the story. No need to rush it, the next game does not have to deal with the reapers immediately, just lay the groundwork at least.
