both are right, the world war arc was horrible in general, and the only redeeming factor was Madara. It becomes utter shit when kishimoto goes full m.night salamanaman and pulls one plot twist too many. In general it's not a very good manga/anime by any means, but it's got nostalgic value for a lot of people, including me.

Naruto is good when compared to modern anime. Just gotta wait for something like Redline if you want quality.
The first Naruto game on ps3 was incredible, they made the whole city. Why did they give up on all the others is beyond me.

this is such a stupid meme. There wasn't some sudden quality drop for the rest of the series after any arc, there were just weak parts where the story dragged on too much.

like people say that Naruto sucked after the timeskip, but it was only the beginning of the timeskip that sucked/progressed way too slowly and made this impression. The series got back on track after hidan+kakuzu appeared and remained exciting enough for a good while.
others say it got bad after the pain arc or with the 4th war arc, but again the series just hit a weak part there. The all the shittons of edo-tensei fights were just weightless, but when madara appeared the series got back on track again

The war arc would've been dandy if it didn't last half the length of dbz. And nothing after it was worth reading/watching, so it's fair to say Naruto was fine until the war arc, or at least until naruto and sasuke became gods and shit.

if you cut out the filler and the pointless edo-tensei fights then the war arc was fine

obito and madara wreaking havoc and everyone desperately trying to stop them was fun to watch. The Kaguya part was kind of underwhelming tho. Kishi did a good job with establishing madara as this unstoppable force of nature that actually even managed to pull of his plan, yet they fucking easily dealt with Kaguya who is supposed to be even stronger, it made no fucking sense
