What went wrong?
What went wrong?
Bruh, it's a shittyass game that wouldn't get 10 players if runescape came out today for the first time.
letting the players vote on the direction the game goes
making skilling useless to spite botters (who then switched to botting bosses)
for every good update they added there are 15 bad ones.
>we want the community to decide everything
>their community is entirely based on their reddit page
>the osrs reddit page is nothing but terrible memes and "i got x drop finally"
the only person left from the original rs team is ash, and as soon as he is gone the game will be finished.
also the new content looks like its just lower poly rs3 models which makes sense because of the rs3 people moving to osrs.
ran by reddit
forgot to add that boss drop tables are utter garbage, dropping lots of raw materials that would otherwise be gathered by skillers.
And the botting situation is just as bad as it was back then and with every update they introduce there is another way for bots to exploit and inject billions into the market.
how the fuck do you bot bosses
Grand Exchange
Also letting RS3 babbies have a vote for OSRS updates. They should only allow accounts that were actually created before 2008 to have a vote. After all they were the people that actually played the fucking game at the time.
Jagex
Nothing went wrong, OS alone is pushing 700k subs still.
Wish they'd just get rid of the polling system and grab the game by the balls though.
they killed 2006scape and made redditscape/OP
>adding GE back in
>NZ
>pandering to redditors
>making you start everything from level 1
>high membership cost despite obviously hating OS over their current abomination
It was never right to begin with because it was still run by the same incompetent retards who only cared about their Chinese owners. The very point of origin was a retarded assumption that people would be willing to just give up all previous progress to start anew just to get away from their god awful combat rework, and the community was split on day one between people who wanted it to be the game locked into 2007, and people who wanted it to be the game without the combat rework.
You can bot literally fucking anything in OSRS. It's not hard to bot bosses when the profitable ones are solo-only in instances.
They allowed the community to decide updates, so we get 3 nothingburgers a year instead of what we had during rs2.
What's bad about GE?
Jagex was bought by China only a few years ago in 2016 zoomer
You don't like spending 10 minutes trying to get into world 2 where you get to type out the same message over and over?
>kills the world because people only travel between a skilling place and the GE
>as a result, banks everywhere are empty
>the beautiful ground floor trading market of W2 fally/varrock is non existant
>merching clans
>one stop store for everything, why even bother gathering resources yourself when you can just buy it
I want to autistically stand in one spot for an hour spamming a message so I can sell my trash item.
Lets robots dump all their raw materials into the economy instantly at the lowest buying price
Or you could just use Zybez and find what you need in 2 minutes retard
Killed actually merching and a decent potential social aspect of the game. Back in RS2 I had skillers I would regularly trade with because they would gather resources and go to me first for selling and friendships were made that way. Now you just dump it in the GE
this wasnt the only way to buy or sell, retards
I almost never could get onto W2 and I still found people to trade all the time. Sorry you cant get what you wanted immediately, its almost as if supply and demand exists instead of instant transactions
Yes, and why not go back to using Swiftswitch while I'm at it?
Unironically would be better if the clients people used were just world switches instead of cheat clients today.
>Lets robots dump all their raw materials into the economy instantly at the lowest buying price
That's a good thing. I don't want to spend a hundred hours fishing for sharks so I can cook them to skill cooking. I prefer to buy 100,000 raw sharks off the GE, cook them then sell them back at the GE for profit.
Nothing stops you from doing that with the exchange, you just have to make competetive offers instead of jewing people like a m*rchant.
Don't call them cheat clients or reddit will attack you. Apparently they aren't cheating because they're freely available to download. But botting isn't the same because
>Today
>Actually still playing
I'm so sorry, user.
>It's a good thing that bots make all of the skills and raw material not profitable so slayer is the only thing worth doing
Hey to each his own I suppose
>nothing stops you , just dont merch, LOL
>merchant clans that are all over f2p and major worlds standing right there at the GE manipulating prices? nah, those arent real
>Merchants never mass manipulated prices or hoarded supplies before the exchange
yes, because that doesnt work in a non integrated network
dont like the prices youre seeing? swap worlds
with the ge? tough shit, thats market price now
>Merching clans
Yeah a group of people mass together a bunch of gullible retards to buy the same item but not to dump it until they say, but then the leaders dump it before everyone else. It's not "merching" it's always been an elaborate scam. Everyone in merching clans that isn't a leader or friends with the leader gets fucked.
There is no more mystery and allure, everyone knows everything and has access to everything - if a new content comes out its beans are all spilt onto the wiki
Also back then so many people had shitty computers they could only do one thing at a time so the one thing would be playing runescape, there were no multiple tabs to google the answer for everything
You can merch with the GE you just have to have a huge amount of starting capital and actually pay attention to price trends on the GE tracking websites. It's a way more autistic endeavor than it was in 2006.
>find out how to solo boss
>usually boils down to move to tile x use gear y use prayer z
>write a program that does it for you
>program becomes better than a player since it prayflicks and gearswitches perfectly in a single tick
>have backup bots training combat so you can easily replace shit
So you've never done anything past mid-tier bosses or tried to write a bot before?
I've written several bots, not for bossing mind you, but I'm fairly knowledgeable about it. If you want proof of their existence just go to Zul'andra or watch the bot busting streams jagex does every year, they always catch Zulrah botters on that.
Define mid-tier boss. There are private CoX scripts out there, just so you know.
5 minute auto logout timer in 2020
Shit game
You didn't spend much time on IRC with clans, did you?
thats only on mobile
Zulrah is essentially as described, but a CoX bot is much more complicated than just walking to a specific style and turning on prayer
no, I didnt. I dont see why that matters
the game is only a shell of what it was when we were growing up. the real life money for gold, the rampant different variations of gameplay, ironmen etc, skills are basically useless and they never improve the rates.
bosses became the main reason for playing, people only care about xp/hr or gp/hr because everything takes 100 years to accomplish.
its sad i used to love rs but osrs is just a joke compared to the original game and rs3 is trash
China
>implementing the Grand Exchange when trading posts COULD have worked if they weren't implemented fucking stupidly
>"Quality of Life" changes that dumb down the game while simultaneously avoiding any updates to Runecrafting because it being a tedious slog is a meme and the community wants it to stay that way
>implementing an entire new continent instead of finishing up areas from the base game, then botching the execution and having to spend a ton of dev time reworking it
>carrying over RS3's shitty lore
>unpolled changes
>hiring artists that don't care about the visuals and create art assets that heavily conflict with the pre-existing areas
>esports garbage
>added GE
>promoting cheat clients instead of making their own client good
>leddit literally runs the game
Runescape was always a shitty game, i don't understand how people look at that gameplay and think they are having fun or are being challenged in any way
