No, you definitely want a gun with as much ammo as possible for when you run into Zerging enemies.

That's why I'm asking. They buffed snipers, just asking if they are viable now. They are my favorite type of gun, but were trash on launch.

Woodblocker got buffed on Thursday, is actually good now.
Headsplosion is great if you can hit the crits
Monocle is good for a Ties that Bind Amara build
That's about it

And i 1-2 shot them with a Pistol or just punch them as Amara. I don't see the problem.
