There's so many races that each faction is indistinguishable from one-another,and there are so many heroes ala Khadgar and Magni that are forced to take arbitrary breaks every other expansion just to try to keep things fresh. Now Sargeras needed a new explanation for turning evil and whilst his previous arc had a basis in philosophical fundamentals, the new one is just 'wouldn't you kill cosmic-Hitler if he was going to hatch from his world-egg?' and his actual end-goal motives are circular nonsense. To stop any omnipotent cosmic entity bent on destroying reality from being created, he must destroy reality first.

Now you could argue 'he just wants to destroy Azeroth and any other corrupted world-seeds to save reality'; well that's a ret-con. The other titans think nothing of destroying corrupted worlds to prevent this end; they have no idealistic conflict with Sargeras to that end. They had set-up a whole system in Ulduar in WoTLK which the raid had to stop on heroic mode.

Because he didn't forge them. it's always been "demons did it" and then was specifically pointed as Dreadlords. if they reveal that the dreadlord race started as a race from the shadowlands it isn't a jump in logic, it just explains why they could make them

Nah, his motives are more concise in the book. He wants to destroy everything in reality and then create new worlds or foster new life where they can keep an eye on it to ensure the void can't poison it again.

Following that, the systems in Ulduar and the like were to purge the planet of ALL life in the event the void taint reached too far so they could retry and reseal them. Or something.

And the titans had no issue destroying corrupted worlds, but Azeroth was the first planet they had come across in eons that held a nascent titan soul, so they wished to do everything in their power to save it. Hell, they initially held little doubts about just outright pulling the old gods from the planet like they were leeches, but obviously changed their minds when it would result in the death of the planet.

Not like it matters; they retconned their entire mythology/cosmology regarding the titans with the Argus/Antorus patch.

Gul'Dan has also been ret-conned, with his apprenticeship to Ner'zhul being discarded along with his origins in the Shadowmoon clan. There wasn't originally any distinction in Orc culture between a shaman and warlock. A shaman gets their powers from a mutually-beneficial relationship negotiated with beings of other planes, including elementals, nature spirits and ancestors. A warlock is an 'oath-breaker', so is restricted to dealing with beings that expect to be betrayed but don't mind because they think they'll come out on top: demons and corrupted elementals in service to the old gods.

It's very easy to point to something that contradicts with everything else, seeing as ret-conning is now the glue holding Warcraft together.

Tichondrius was able to control the Scourge in RoC by using Gul'dan's skull. This is entirely expected because before 'narrative designers' who don't know or give a shit about Warcraft lore took over, Gul'dan was apprenticed to Ner'zhul. The helmet was made because Ner'zhul was raising the dead, but controlling them was a problem, which is why he would put the souls of Orcs into slain knights to act as puppeteers, creating the first death knights.

Story got fucked already in TBC.

It isn't a fact, it's a ret-con. It requires the 'skull of Gul'dan' to not be literally Gul'dan's skull because that was an item that controlled the entire Scourge undead, which is why Ner'zhul needed Arthas to go convince Ilidan to destroy it. Any explanation for how Gul'dan's skull would control the Scourge disappears if he hasn't inherited it from Ner'zhul's tutelage.

Frostmourne being forged by Ner'zhul is Mal'ganis telling Arthas so right before he got stuck with the pointy end.

Arthas got his armour in Northrend before returning to Lordaeron, after killing Mal'ganis. The next time he sees a dreadlord, it's Tichondrius and he confuses him immediately for Mal; he has not seen a dreadlord in the intervening period. He's acquired that armour the same way he got the sword; he's found it. There is no reason for demons to want him to have it; they only needed him to have the sword to connect him to Ner'zhul.

The fuckup of the story&lore aside, the gameplay just plain is not fun. Loot is never awarded for actual achievements or feats, but total rng bullshit, and grinding for essence/ap/whatever is like dying slowly of tuberculosis

originally Wotlk was supposed to have a Nexus raid, Utgarde keep raid (both were split up into dungeons), a troll raid (turned into a dungeon and 90% content cut) and a nerubian raid (entire zone it was in was cut and turned into 2 dungeons)
also Crystalsong was supposed to be a fully playable zone and Icecrown was supposed to be a zone-wide long term version of the gates of ahn qiraj event

I swear it's like they've done this on purpose out of spite, they wanted to add retarded shit like diaper gnomes and fur-bait (for some reason?) but they knew that they couldn't just do that outright because there'd be outrage. So they've added in 8 other shit allied races, basically none of them what anyone has been asking for as a new race, and that fatigue they've given people has allowed them to just do whatever they want and will likely continue to do so
It's an amazing testament to blizzards mediocrity that they can introduce 10 new races in a single expansion, and yet even collectively they don't feel as though they have the impact and the interest of the community that any of the other previously added races have

You’re an idiot if you don’t think people have been asking for “subraces” for the longest time. Nightborne, lightforged, and highmountain were among those once they were revealed in Legion, vulpera joined them once they were revealed (and quickly became a fan favorite). Things like mechagnomes, zandalari, mag’har, and dark iron have been on that list for a very long time. True, mechagnomes aren’t exactly what people wanted but at least the heritage armor makes them fully robotic. Kul Tirans were a cool addition as well, at least the males.

The reasons the Ulduar mechagnomes were not added is because they have no appeal for newfag players. Blizz tried to make a whimsical OC steampunk race that would appeal to zoomers and it flopped.

Only one (1) BFA Ally race is for old heads, and it's Dark Iron. Alliance is the newfag casual playerbase and that's why they didn't get Broken, Vrykul or High Elf: because the mass majority of players don't care.

The only true new races are Mag’har, zandalari, being the first trolls, and vulpera, not being related to goblins at all.

Arrakoa would start their starting zone as the flight kind but based on decisions they’d ascend or corrupt to the hobbled state which would change the cosmetics of their racials to be light or dark themed. here's how I'd do it
Void Lords are the final bosses of retail WoW, they're multidimensional creatures and their schemes threaten all universes
You defeat the final boss with your raid, but it turns out it can't stay dead unless you use a special weapon, but using it requires sacrificing your entire timeline
Weapon gets used, void lords get defeated in all realities and retail wow timeline blinks out of existence
Then turns out that classic wow was in fact an alternate timeline and warcraft continues on from the end of classic wow

at this point the lore is not beyond salvaging, retail wow got to have it's influence on warcraft as a whole and WC4 can be about say, the Lich King's plans in a universe without the void lords to mess with things (no reopening of the dark portal)

WoW's lore was fucked from Patch 1.0.0, when they decided to force every fucking playable faction into Alliance or Horde.
Undeads should have never sided with the Horde, they are Lordaeron ffs : literally every single one of them has lost family members to the Horde.
Same with Blood Elves, you don't fucking join your biggest enemy just because your old pal became an asshole.
Same with Night Elves joining the Alliance, they were the biggest isolationist "shoot everything not blue and let the wolves sort their souls"-style.

The human starting area is primarily about the defias and all their shenanigans, and youre just a stormwind citizen that has to pick up the slack while the soldiers are away. You get rewards and thanks here and there from the leaders of each small town but mostly youre still just a militiamen for those areas.

Fast forward to cataclysm and youre an orc-slaying machine before you even reach goldshire. The guard npcs in the starting area all say 'oh wow its you, the hero everyones talking about!' Its just so fake and shit.

The tournament was also supposed to happen next to Dalaran, that's why the zone under it was so empty.
Except they completely underestimated the lag from having two major hubs of activity right in the same zone.
So they implemented it in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, way inside enemy territory, because that was the only spot big and empty enough to fit all that shit.

Honestly the Tournament being in Crystalsong wouldve been alot nicer than a dreary one in Icecrown.

Plus the Silver Coventant and Sunreavers were already camped out down there. It would have made perfect sense.

It's less that they form inside planets, and more that planets form around them.
As they're pretty much a mass of Arcane energies, when they're just little "fetuses" of magic, their formless bodies start to create a rocky exterior, which over time becomes a planet.

There is only ORCS and their mutual allies the Trolls and the Tauren.

One of the Biggest fuckfests which was the alliance of Lordaeron was destroyed in a few months, all because of the corruption running amok, and pure ignorance.
The Horde itself Died with Grom Hellscream and the Warsong Clan, and in lordaeron with the Blackrock Orcs being wiped out by arthas, but wow retconned it.

but WoW retconned Everything and made War 3 look meaningless, WoW itself fees like a parallel timeline.
