i'm reading clannad right now, it's my third attempt
the writing is incredibly inconsistent. when it's good, it's extremely good, and when it's bad, you struggle to get through it.
i'd say this is a rare case (like one of the only examples) where the anime is actually better, the anime is way more consistently good.
i think the little busters vn was a lot more consistently good, but then that's my favorite vn like i said. it's on steam as well.
majikoi is also solid, it's fun as hell. if you would rather have fun than feels it's a good route to go.
