This is the greatest controller ever made.
This is the greatest controller ever made
Mine gives a false down input when I push left right on the dpad but other than that it's pretty great.
Yeah just let me use the left stick to move, right stick to turn the camera, oh shit now I can't jump. Fuck that controller bro.
t. Nintendicklet zoomer who never had any other controllers in his life
Step aside for the wavebird
The stick placement was weird at first, but playing W101 got me used to it very quickly.
I find the Switch Pro to be a lot more comfy to hold, but the dpad just doesn't compare. The Wii U Pro also has like twice the battery life, it's insane.
haha nice meme
No, shit "triggers"
For tiny hand faggots
>The Wii U Pro also has like twice the battery life, it's insane
I assume it's because the switch Pro is constantly checking for nfc signals.
I find the current Xbox and Switch Pro controllers far more comfortable. Also, glossy finish on a gamepad lmao
>tfw bought into the Steam controller hype
Custom configs are a great idea, but the lack of a right stick was utterly retarded
>The fucking jews at Nintendo won't make this compatible with the Switch in order to sell their shitty Pro Controller
Has the hacking scene made an exploit to connect this things natively yet?
>stick drift in 3 months
No thanks
nah m8
Actually the steam controller is the best because you can use it to play actual PC games and not console shit.
pc games designed to be played with a keyboard and mouse
>le joy cons do it so all nintendo controllers do
exactly. it's great.
What do you need a right stick for?
how? a mouse is infinitely better than a touchpad. seems like the steam controller was made so you can play stuff like strategy games but on the couch
to shove up my butt
Moving the camera in 3rd person games.
Fair enough. I'd recommend using the DS4's handles instead though.
I have a pro controller. Stick drift to the point where I can’t reliably move in a certain direction in botw. Try defending a good product.
The touchpad does that just as well if not better though.
For a lot of games you want to combine the touchpad with the gyro to replace the mouse. Gives you both fast movement and precision. Probably not as good as a mouse but unless you're playing at high level in some fast FPS it shouldn't be a detriment.
It's not like people choose to use a controller for competitiveness anyway. They choose it for comfort. If I can get that comfort and still have precision very close to a mouse that's fine by me.
I've been using it as my PC controller for a while now, no complaints.
It's a good one alright, have to test the Switch one yet.
That along with reading gyro input, yes. It has dualshock 4 syndrome, but doesn't suffer nearly as much
What's the most durable controller? For button mashing and shit.
Nice try low IQ. It's actually the best controller ever made.
>t. Owns one of each Nintendo controller from every console, including virtual boy
>owns steam controller, dualshock 4, and has used every xbox controller and ps controller ever made
you cant even do that crab hold with these controllers, all controllers should have the right joystick at the bottom for this one reason
Not even close Nintendie.
>dumlet crab degenerate
>doesn't realize using your index finger on the right stick and thumb on the buttons actually works better than crab grip
I have a splatoon and pro controller from launch that have been dropped and played for hundreds of hours with no drift.
Try cleaning your controllers.
Razer Wolverine Ultimate Edition for this boy here.
As opposed to the right analogue being at the bottom and letting you jump? You're still limited to one thing at a time.
i'm a total nintendofag until i draw my final breath but how the fuck have y'all been sleeping on the xbox 360 controller
how does it work better
lets say fps: do you think your index finger is as dextrous and accurate as your fucking thumb?
Christ you want to use analogue sticks for aiming/camera control? The whole point of the touchpad is that dual analogue is fucking garbage.
Dpad is trash. Xbox button is obnoxious, doesn't turn off properly, wired kit is a piece of shit.
fair enough
>lets say fps
Shouldn't use a stick at all.
>triggers aren't analog
Yeah I think it's pretty bad.
I like it, definitely a good piece of tech and best quality for the cash, but it has its flaws and others have less.
"i-i-it doesnt count!"
brand loyalty is a mental illness
I'm just telling you that FPS is a bad example because they're trash with a stick no matter what.
its a VERY fucking popular genre, in which you need to be accurate with your stick
now kill yourself loser
How can you even play shooters on a controller?
It's like playing racing games on a keyboard.
>in which you need to be accurate with your stick
No you don't. The games help you out with accuracy and you know it.
by using the joystick to aim at people, i know, youre not very good at it
t. never played cod on consoles
>How can you even play shooters on a controller?
you get used to it. also shooters on console have varying degrees of aim assist.
Lmao, I used to play Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and Ghosts on Wii U. Always got to the top 3 every match because of these controller layouts. Got Doom on Switch and the Mayflash adapter and was absolutely killing it 1st place every match.
damn, you did that using your index finger? impressive user! are you the world champion cod player?
I think YOU are probably trash with a stick. I have a friend like this who plays a lot of PC FPS but fumbles on the coordination of two analog sticks.
I probably am, because I don't use it. But you can't deny that sticks are bad for playing FPS and hence require aim assist in any game that requires precise aiming.
If they are so great for shooters why is the aim assist there? Why isn't it on PC where people use mice?
The point is you don't need to be a crab grip retard for FPS because the controller places your hands comfortably with each thumb neutral at each stick and your index fingers neutral on the digital triggers (again, why the FUCK would you want analog triggers for an FPS game)
Not him but if there was any benefit at all to using a controller in FPS games then you'd see pros using them. It's never happened
Because modern FPS games are made for retards so aim assist is added for their benefit.
So why isn't there any for the retards on PC?
FPS games in general are made for retards, with few exceptions.
>greatest controller
>no analog triggers
The original Halo had aim-assist for Xbox, there's an old developer interview explicitly stating that aiming consistently is impossible without it
>uh durrr why don't PC pros who are trained on keyboard and mouse for games designed for keyboard and mouse use a controller??? Uhhhhhhh
Steam controller.
No haptic feedback, no gyro, no physical buttons, what the fuck is this trolling?
>why the FUCK would you want analog triggers for an FPS
same reason why all melee players cant live without their shoulder buttons: precision
>No haptic feedback, no gyro, no physical buttons
What are you talking about? The Steam Controller has all of these.
>Glossy plastic and fake trigger
>symmetrical sticks
into the trash it goes
Too many brainlets in here desu.
Only the top is glossy. The back is textured for grip.
Symmetrical top sticks are absolutely the most ergonomic position for control sticks.
Analog triggers are useful on only ONE genre of modern video games: Racing games.
Dreamcast and Gamecube both had analog triggers but I'm sure you fags just bought a PS2 instead.
>Symmetrical top sticks are absolutely the most ergonomic position for control sticks.
its so ergonomic that even nintendo decided to ditch the design on the switch
The most used parts of the controller are the left stick and the face buttons. They go at the top. Symmetrical sticks are retarded
>Analog triggers are useful on only ONE genre of modern video games: Racing games.
Wrong. They're useful in shooters as you need barely any force for the to trigger. Overcoming the resistance of a digital button will always take more force.
t. drooling retard.
Wii U pro controller is very very nearly perfect. All it needs are analog triggers and to merge the home and power buttons together.
Oh shit, I thought you meant a laptop trackpad. I'm a retard.
Does the switch pro controller have analog triggers? Does it suffer from stick drift?
>analogue triggers
What do you need them for? Racing games you rarely play?
Rocket league, Dirt Rally 2.0
Arguably they aren't essential for RL, but DR is unplayable without analog throttle. Inb4 get a racing wheel, I play from the couch most of the time.
>They go at the top
That's not the natural or default position your thumb would be in though. Your thumb will naturally be placed closer to the centre and the lower set of controls (in this case d-pad and face). Moving the thumb to align with the top set takes some amount of muscle use and effort.
They switched because of the Switch design and to appeal to brain dead zoomers who are incapable of trying new controller layouts but are OK with the "xbox" layout (which Sega made).
On an FPS game your most used parts are the sticks and triggers. Dpad and face buttons are secondary and are always easily reachable. Also the controller is perfectly designed for retro games, keeping the sticks away from the dead and buttons which are directly across from each other like a snes/psx/sega controller.
I've been in many threads like this. Everyone against the Wii U Pro design either 1. Never touched the console in their life or 2. Touched it once but are so conditioned to the dualshock/xbox layout that they have a hard time adjusting because they refuse to adapt.
Same kinds of faggots that say shit like "I always get confused on Nintendo because A is B and B is A haha" when literally Nintendo and Sony Japan had been doing it like that since the beginning.
That's just the joycons. The Wii U Pro controller was actually well-made.
>you cant even do that crab hold with these controllers,
Who fucking cares??
people who want to move the camera at the same time as pressing buttons care
A well designed game won't need you to do that.
unfortunately, the vast majority of games arent well designed
I'm op and I'm glad somebody else gets it. It's not a perfect controller but it's the best controller ever made. I kinda wonder if the layout will ever come back in the future. I had a wii u but I use this for pc all the time.
>he doesn't know about xwiimote
You can get it to connect with a external bluetooth device
Now that was a goddamn controller.
