Why is there no end game? And a false sense of urgency? You can just run straight to the dragon and kill it without needing any "army" since the game is so damn easy.

I needed about 70 hours to finish it but I am taking my sweet time with everything in games like that

In Origins the Archdemon was like the Zerg Overmind, it directed the Darkspawn and made them a credible, unified threat. But the Mother was a big threat as well.

If Awakenings is anything to go by the Darkspawn will go insane if they don't hear the song of the Archdemon, dormant or otherwise.

First of all you need to remember that the Grey Wardens aren't just supposed to fight the Blights, but Darkspawn in general. Whether the Darkspawn would go extinct/docile once the last Archdemon dies is anyone's guess.

What kind of mage did you play? If you went the battlemage route, then you might not want to play something so similar, maybe Rouge?

Neither are particularly exciting. No matter what class your Warden is, you will spend 90% of fights controlling your mages anyway

Can't really solo tank, but can be an off-tank. On nightmare you're gonna need an Arcane Warrior or S+S warrior.

I had ton of fun with a two handed warrior in awakening, but in the main game they can get rage inducing, watching a half minute attack animation only for it to be a miss made me wanna smash the screen every time

I guess if you're going the warrior route may as well just be an Arcane Warrior this time around, they basically function as a better version of Warrior, but with magic.
