Are the 8Bitdo Sn30 Pro controllers worth the price? I like my regular Switch Pro controller but I want something with a better dpad.
Are the 8Bitdo Sn30 Pro controllers worth the price...
Yeah, I have the SNES clone 8bitdo SN30 Pro and it's a great alternative to the regular pro controller. But if you have giant hands you should get the one in the OP instead. The one thing that's a bit of a bummer, though, is you can't wake up the Switch itself with it. But I guess that's a problem with 3rd-party accessories overall.
No, they suck
The control sticks drift, cannot recommend
thumbsticks look like the shitty joycons
no, buy their bluetooth adapter instead and you can use a dualshock or xbone controller with it
The gyroscope does too.
They had to change the design to look less like a snes controller, which was half the point
nope
theyre horrible
I have the gba version without the handles and the D-PAD is worth it. Don't think of it as a replacement for the pro controller cause is not, but the sticks come in handy tho.
Anyway, don't listen to this people cause the dpad sure is worth it.
SN30 Pro Plus is solid.
Get a mayflash adapter and use a dualshock 4
based
This. DO NOT get the non-Plus SN30 Pro, it’s complete trash.
If by some chance you want the absolute best d-pad with zero lag, but at the expense of not having a stick, get the Pokken Tournament DX controller. It’s wired, but it’s got a nearly 10 ft reach. This is of course if your playing something like Mario Maker 2 that requires consistent precise inputs, so it may not be what you’d personally need.
>is the mad catz alternative worth it?
never. just get a fucking official controller christ. if you don't like controllers play on PC like a real man its so simple
Forgot pic. And no, I don’t play Pokemon games but Pokken Tournament. I was looking forward to Sword and Shield as a jumping on point to the actual main series, but it looks incredibly disappointing.
When the fuck are they gonna announce an M30 Pro?
God I wish, that d-pad is legitimately amazing
At least they have handles, not like the other pieces of shit they made before. Still, at that point, you're better off getting an xbone or ps4 controller.
stick placement might be a little cramped with the six face buttons i guess
they're ps4 joysticks
Just emulate HGSS, Platinum, Emerald, and BW/BW2. Maybe FRLG. That's the peak aside from getting into romhacks
I have one of these and the buttons are miserably stiff. Just buy an actual SNES controller and adapter, anything else is a compromise
>Not liking switch pro dpad
lmao wtf?
Best controller I own right here, go to for anything that doesn't need analog sticks
wait, the 8bitdo controller has gyroscope as well?
how much is it?
usually $25-$50 depending on which model and where you get it from.
Why does every single 8bitdo thread feel like I'm being shilled at
>but I want something with a better dpad.
8Bitdo's dpads aren't that bad, but they aren't as good as the genuine thing. You can use 8bitdo to help you with that, but you have to have an SNES classic and be willing to sacrifice one of the controllers. Nothing beats the dpads Nintendo makes, and fuck Nintendo for not giving us any way to use the classic controllers on the switch. It's obvious they made them use the dumbass wiimote connector so it couldn't connect to the switch and we'd have to re-buy their overly priced, wireless variants that just came out.
Still is wireless though, and that's bad once you play some real shit like the harder Mario Maker 2 levels. Getting a good wired controller with good dpad on switch has been a fucking journey, one I'm still on. It'd be really nice if Nintendo didn't make their console such a pain in the ass to use.
The SN30 Pro Plus quickly became my favorite controller so yeah I'd say it's worth it. Their M30 is also pretty great.
hows the dpad for fighting games?
