What pissed me off was that he used the time power to try and save Jeralt but just forgot about it here, only way I was able to explain it is that he knew Rodrigue's sacrifice would help to bring Dimitri to his senses, but even then it's a real loose reason.

Why do the Sacred Weapons not get such a spotlight? They just seem cooler to be closer to being on par with Falcion. Also apparently some of the 10 elites managed to have Sacred Weapons rather then using dark versions of relics instead, and since they are on the last map, you cannot enjoy them since you beat the game and they don’t carry over on your next play through.

Just finished BL and this post sums up everything. Who the hell thought it was a good idea to have Dimitri chimp out for 6 or so chapters? Honestly just made me wish I could make the sane choice and just ditch him on the side of the road. All sympathy I had for him after I found out his murder-hobo was lost in the fallowing chapters when he got Rodrigue killed by letting an obvious turncoat join ship.

That's something that pissed me off about all the routes. They make a big deal out of the one fat fuck in chapter.... 6? using a sacred weapon and it turning him into a demon because he doesn't have the right genetics for it. They show how powerful they are with Catherine destroying mooks left and right in the cutscene during the chapter where she escorts you. And when you get them, they aren't that special. Their power is grossly over exaggerated in the first half and made rather pointless in the second half, especially since there's no actual penalty for you, the player, using them without the correct blood.

My head-canon is that he constantly tries to divine pulse to minimize losses to soldiers that the units have since there's a lot of background soldiers and shit.

The first encounter is indeed really damned hard, you are dependant on dragon pulses going on your favor, but the subsequent encounters are easier because you have a lot more tools at your disposal.

He's beatable on maddening where your students and Byleth are most likely underleveled. Even without Lys, a proper crest proc from Ferdinand should weaken him enough for someone else, and Dimitri can also cheese him with his crest and knightkneeler potentially oneshotting him. All houses have a manner of defeating him without even recruiting anyone you just need to actually hit him on lower difficulties

Her bases are amazing. She can be ten levels behind your entire squad and still be relevant in the late game chapters, nit to mention she has great growths and starts in a really strong class. Her relic is a killing edge that hits 4 times as well. Felix is still good and will probably end up with a few more points in str and speed than catherine in the laste few chapters but she has better defenses and one rounds everything anyways. Shes probably in the top 3 characters in the game.

The other routes need to lean on each other because they each fail on their own. BL stands alone because its writing is good enough to hold itself up without assistance.
