there is a ribbon that connects to the screen, you just press your soldering iron (not too hot) in that connection gently and it fixes it...if the lines are horizontal you are fucked though

the difference is that they designed the game around the gameboy's hardware limitations which gave us critical elements of the setting i.e. small island small screens etc.

the switch version wasn't really designed around the switch's hardware limitations because it's not really as strict, they could realistically do any artstyle they want with any lighting short of ray tracing, and even then it already lags when you run around

How is that an argument for anything at all? If this were a new game, sure, but it's not.
I know they could've made a lot of changes to the remake (like making it a 3D game, gameplay whise). But if they did something like that people would be bitching a lot more just cause they "massacred the original". Fucking purists man.

I feel like one of the main reasons the price tag doesn't bother me is because LA's one of those games that I basicallay play once a year and will forever. Investing 60 dollars in a better version of the game seems reasonable to me since it's gonna get so much mileage anyway
