For me it's the pretty solid music and those few moments of very good writing. I think the Movie was a hard reset in a lot of the things people had a problem with regarding the series. The protagonist went from being a whiny pussy to being a somewhat reasonable hero character that actually solved problems and stood his ground by fighting, so if the series takes that and runs with it, it might actually do something interesting.
