Mangas are purely a visual means of taking in a story.
Anime ar visual and auditory, not to mention the visual part is far more engaging because it's you know, animated.

Say what you want about bleach, it had god tier aesthetics

The thing is that the battles are padded out with a lot of dialogue between, which I would rather read, and the fights also sometimes include fighting padding. Something like the fight between Kira and the bird and Hisagi and the crab dork, which weren't that long in the manga, but took for fucking ever as an episode to finish, to the point where what was two of my favorite fights in the manga became an absolute bore.

I stopped watching Bleach years ago, just before the battle with Aizen. Recently, I keep thinking about going back to it and seeing it through to the end. but the number of episodes/chapters is making me hesitate. Should I go through with this?

Bleach fights are better in manga format. The animation in the anime is garbage most of the time.
