in order to capture the takeda 4 you need to completely stop the a blitz and then assassinate shingen which is really hard on a first playthrough with no bonuses and racing against the gourds/demon army, and even then you only get 1 of the 4 and need to get the other 3 when they join other houses

Try Rance VI, it's pretty straightforward, a dungeon crawler.

If you like dungeon crawlers, start with Rance VI. If you aren't especially into dungeon crawlers, start with Sengoku Rance.
Kichikuou Rance is amazing too, but if you have never touched anything Rance I'd probably recommend VI or Sengoku first.

You can capture them, but the process is convoluted, a pain in the ass, and will completely tank your score.
The first step is to have beaten the Takeda blitz at least once. In the next game (or the same if you reload an earlier save) you unlock the option to beat Takeda by assassinating Shingen. If you do, the four commanders will leave and enter the recruitment pool for other houses. From here, you just need to wait for a house to hire them, and then capture them.
You can leave a weak house like Iga alive and just farm them until they hire the old men. Deploy them all in the same battle for a special event and to unlock the takeda house bonus.

The same method for the takeda 4 is necessary to capture Torako, Katsuko and the Tenshi tanuki. Though you only need to do that if you want a 100% clear game report.

Whenever a house is removed most of their units go into the pool to be randomly recruited by other houses. As the game progresses it gets larger and there is less recruitment being done due to a smaller number of houses remaining.

Well not really, beating it in as little turns as possible is necessary, and the way to do that involves endless savescuming, it's the opposite of saving time really.

That ain't how speedrunning works, they'd have a timer running so sure, maybe it's faster to keep reloading, but not necessarily cause turns don't mean jack shit for the run. Very easy to just make a no reload category though, runs where people constantly just load are dull as sin to watch.

You do get all 3 of them from conquering them. Alternatively it is possible to capture them before then, but only after the all-out battle event which should become an option having having been war with them for a while.
But conquering them gives you the ones you haven't captured yet.

Yuzumi is insane with a Working Bee. I literally go Ashikaga to Asakura to Tanegashima just to get the Bee and Yuzumi as soon as I can. Then go Tokugawa to get Senhime so she can guard Yuzumi. An attack that does huge damage and has an instakill chance is gross and doing it 3 times a fight is even more gross. Throw in an Action Book 2 and I swear Yuzumi is a top 3 unit.

I used to always take the relationship with all commanders. I guess at that point it doesn't really matter though.

If you want to raise score/do charactre clears/possibly get some HCGs, get the relationship bonus. The Power up from max affection for each commander can make a huge difference as well.
Otherwise, either the Mannequein neko or the troop replenishment cost

The old CGs were metal as fuck and conveyed tense feelings very well despite being made in about 8 colours with color restrictions per area and ridiculously small resolution by today's standards.

Magic users kind of suck in this game. The only ok unit is Rizna and only in dungeons

Mages suck as a class. The Special Beam Cannon has it's uses though when you want to harm a specific unit through an array of guardfuckers while ideally harming another unit also.

While playing Kichikuou I didn't really understand what kind of situation Sill and the groupie girl from the thief days were in. After finding out the hard way too late, I time traveled tens of hours of playtime back to the past and declared war on the most powerful military force on the continent just to save my main girl. But on that point, once you have *FOREKNOWLEDGE* of what to do, even early wars and the all out demon war fuckery felt very easy. Events and fights being hard the first time you play them were a precious experience for me but the amount of speedclearing you can do if you powergame armed with knowledge made the replays feel way more dull.

No, this is an absolute myth and it should be obvious when you consider that lolicon and shotacon have distinct meanings. In general, even from story standpoint I felt it was lacking. The game does have a ton of art though, it just goes to characters and monsters. When it comes to the H, I think as a whole they have improved on it both writing and the CG itself since sengoku.
