vr games (which by necessity of reducing motion sickness and being playable are all highly derivative of each other)
and that's it. everything else suffers from being the same thing but with different themes/intellectual properties or somewhat different mechanics, or worse yet, is a worse version of whatever it derives from. there is nothing new under the sun in 2019.

This could be said about all games literally in any historical period ever, but you already know that.
You mentioned self-awareness. If you really have that, you already know what a piece of shit you are.
If you don't, nothing that I will say will have any impact what so ever - you are broken beyond any repair, in fact not really even a human anymore.

Honestly if you are feeling so burned out from videogames then try to play DnD, the mechanics are as good as the players, it’s honestly a really good way to pass the time and have some memorable experiences
