Congratulations! I would suggest just continuing with PCB until you can clear it without continues. Use practice mode to practice the later stages, but remember that you don't have to be perfect. When you're reasonably well-practiced, play through the game again, use bombs for spell cards you can't do reliably or when you get caught in a sticky situation. Alternatively, I would suggest going to Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, which has more primitive spell cards with focus on just dodging rather than learning the specific cards.

What's your problem? All games can be run on Windows 10 without too many issues. It's mainly EoSD that causes some problem, for that, you need the DX8 to 9 patch and the vsync patch, and you are good to go. For newer games, try Windows 7 compatibility and run vsync patch as admin if needed.

Look at winehq to see how other people get specific games running. Often, getting a game to run is just as simple as using winetricks to install a few Windows components, if it doesn't already work out of the box. Not all games will run with wine, though, so maybe look that things up before you uninstall.
From what I've heard, win10 seems to be about as desktop friendly as modern linux distros. I haven't used windows since XP, and Linux was definitely better for desktop back then, but I think M$ got scared (probably of Apple, but still) and actually improved since then.

I'm not sure how accurate 'stream presence' is as an indicator of popularity. Firstly, it may be an age thing, where older people don't like to stream or watch streams, which would indicate that Touhou is not popular among young people. There may also be some correlation between people who don't watch streams and people that avoid Twitch or other big platforms (which doesn't really scream 'doujin culture' to me). Lastly, there may just be certain kind of games that are not well suited for streaming, even if they are popular with people who may stream other things.
Another reason I think the older characters are more popular is because they are simpler archetypes. This makes it easier to understand how they'd react to a given situation and interact with other characters, which makes it easier to produce fan content around them.

I just can't see them that way. If I'm correct Yachie and Saki apparently hate each other's guts, Mokou and Kaguya's relationship is currently more of a rivalry with the ocassional pissing each other off with Mokou actually getting worried during SSiB when she thought Kaguya would go back to the moon. Yachie and Saki are more Yakuza heads, except that Saki is physically way stronger because of how her clan works.
TD has such an interesting setting but it feels somehow lacking. It doesn't help that the gimmick is annoying and actually affects the songs themselves.

Keiki has the background shifting when the music intensifies, along her fight being all kinds of fun. It helps a lot also that Electric Heritage it's a short version of Idolatrize World that still stands on its own. It's also the same reason why I love Little Princess so much, both are amazing final boss themes.
