Only downside is the addition of open world which you travel through from mission to mission but it's not too bad.
Core gameplay is still classic gears with a few quality of life improvements. The addition of active skills is pretty neat

You come across (albeit very short) side mission to gather upgrade materials and new abilities for Jack which you can use in battle such as the ability to lay a shock trap, power armour for a short while, cloaking, freezing enemies etc.
All the mission points in the world are marked with yellow flags so it's hard to miss them.
