I actually low-key like Liam's loyalty mission even though I despise his character and Andromeda overall. It had a few chuckle-worthy moments (them ignoring the Angaran when arguing, Liam opening and closing the doors that were guarded by a turret) and was also interesting from a gameplay standpoint (navigating through rooms with changed direction of gravity).

No, the high point of the franchise was the first meeting with Sovereign in ME1, followed by the final battle where he tore the citadel a new asshole. The big terminator from ME2 doesn't even come close.

Nordin is probably the best written character in the series. Legion also was solid, until ME3 ruined him. Like I said, Tali and Garrus were both better written in ME2. Jack wasn't my cup of tea, but she has a fan base. Only weak characters in ME2 are Jacob and Miranda. But ME has a history of boring human companions.

The suicide mission isn't just the fight with the reaper baby. The entire setup, music, general atmosphere and threat of crew dying made it great. Sure as hell better than the ending of ME1, and the very lame Saren hopper boss battle.

That's mostly because they've hyped up the ending as respecting all of the major decisions you've made. When you look at another Deus ex machina game ending, such as DX:HR, the backlash was much less intense despite it being equally as lazy. ME3 also had the most enjoyable gunplay in the series, and its multiplayer turned out to be amazing (you still have people playing it to this day).

ME2 writers had to be aware of how difficult it was going to be for them to deal with rewriting dozens upon dozens of storylines to get around the fact lots of characters from ME2 and some fan favorites from ME1 would be dead in ME3. That means that they had to decide whether to make all of those characters irrelevant to the main plot or to write alternative characters (which is what they've done) to push the story forward. Considering they've already experienced that with Virmire Survivor and Wrex, I'm baffled they went forward with the Suicide mission and made it much more difficult for themselves in ME3.

It also didn't give a shit about the balance - Biotics were overpowered, all abilities had a ridiculously long cooldown, ammo was practically unlimited and you could use every gun (albeit you couldn't zoom in with them). Compare that with ME2 where everything had a low cooldown so you can pew-pew more often, ammo was limited so you were forced to move. It simply shows that developers understood most people would dislike ME1's gameplay (and they were right), so they saw what was selling and imitated it.

The thing is ME1 didn't play that card from the very beginning. It presented itself as a game where you're space Bond on a mission to stop a rogue agent. You don't discover the ancient evil until way later in the game after you've sunk hours in the story and started to really care about the characters. That is why it had such an impact. ME2 never got close to this, the entire story was fucking filler content and you know it.

That guy is right, from point you speak with Sovereign to the moment Sovereign crashes on the Citadel and Shepard rises from the rubble is absolute kino and quite obviously the highlight of the saga. Everything from the chase of Saren, speaking with the Prothean AI, the space battle with Sovereign and the run through the crumbling Citadel is one of a kind. I will never forget when Saren shot himself in the head, I don't think i've ever seen a scene as strong as that in a videogame ever again.

I only play Earthborn/Ruthless beccause it's the only way I can see Shepard joining Cerberus. Used to play the most with Sole Survivor but it makes absolutely no sense in ME2 and I don't think an Alliance War Hero would help Cerberus either. Butcher of Torfan is quite a cool title too.

Well, the whole concept of being a Spectre gets thrown out the window after the first game. You're only that in name in the next two games.

The story flows much better between games if Shepard is renegade. Cerberus resurrecting Shepard because he's a human supremacist who'd likely share their goals, the new Council not trusting you, thus forcing you to work with Cerberus, Udina already being the human councilor in 3 instead of him just replacing Anderson because REASONS. Also, new Council > old one. At least they're fucking honest with you.

As I've gotten older I've realised that Yea Forums has terrible taste collectively and usually tries too hard to be contrarian. Did Bioware fuck up ME3's ending? Absolutely. Did the extended cut fix it? Yes.

ME3 has just so many great moments and even though Citadel's humour was cheesy and cringe, it also had some amazing scenes. After the party as you say goodbye to Miranda and walk to the Normandy and your death was really well done. Liara coming to your cabin with her time capsule and then telling you what she thinks of you. Watching Thessia burn as you lose the cipher to Cerberus. Wrex praising your friendship when you cure the genophage. Finding Mordin's voice messages at the private apartment.

I lean towards Paragade. Full Renegade Shepard in the first game is a bit of a racist asshole, which I don't think jells quite as well with their majority alien-crew as the series progresses.

There were some good parts, that doesn't take away the fact that it was a dog shit ending to the series that completely failed to meaningfully carry over most of the choices from previous game and provide a satisfying answer to any of the ongoing stories.

Your choices in the previous games weren't supposed to affect just the ending but rather the entire play-through. Releasing the Rachni queen in 1 makes her turn-up in 3 and gives you more war assets. i find it retarded when people say your choices don't matter, they absolutely do. Didn't blow up the Destiny Ascension? It turns up in 3 as a war asset. Handed over the Collector base in 2? Life gets more difficult.

What even is the problem with Leviathan? It fleshes out how the reapers started which makes perfect sense. Just look at the Quarians and Geth, eventually synthetic life will destroy organic life because organic life doesn't know how to move on.

Asari are literal parasites that survive and thrive only by brainwashing retards into "fucking" them. Liara is just the typical blue cockroach and the people ITT that sing her praises are just her regular victims.

The only difference is whether or not you can use the Queen for war assets. Collector base too, even if you blew it up Cerberus still has it and the dead Reaper larva somehow. Most of your choices from previous games just end up being war assets that have no impact on anything in the plot.

ME does what Thanos should have done rather than "oh I'll kill half of you, forget the fact that population can triple in 50 years". The Protheans got so powerful that they became space Romans, "join us or die". If left unchecked what would have happened? They would have kept conquering and killing and when there's no one left to conquer they'd turn on each other.

Look at the Geth and Quarians, the Quarians would have never let the Geth live on their homeworld un-checked and without the intervention of Shepard they would have been wiped out by the Geth. Synthetic life is superior and would have wiped out organic life eventually.

It's logical thinking to kill of advanced life to ensure that life is never wiped out.

It is resolved because you intervene. If Shepard hadn't been around the Geth would have wiped the Quarians out when they decided to attack. it even tells you in game that the original conflict started because the Geth developed free-will and organics were threatened by this. Legion even shows you that the Geth only fought back because they wanted to survive.

He deserves his rest, I went for the destroy ending just for that last scene where's breathing. He makes his way back to Miranda, settles down and retires. The guy did enough.

Sentinel is pretty OP in ME1 and ME2, but is pretty limp in ME3 cause it got nerfed.
You can use both biotics and tech and are a jack-of-all-trades type character.

Oh yeah, Tech armor in ME3 was pretty underwhelming and it influenced your cooldown or something. I still managed just fine with the powers I had plus Armor Piercing ammo bonus power. Oh, and I also only used M-7 Lancer so my cooldowns were ridiculously short - something like 2 seconds for Throw.
