Demon's Souls was released in 2009. Dark souls 3 was released in 2016. They had a 7 year run, and now they're working on different stuff.

DaSfag here. Demon's Souls is a masterpiece and everyone ITT should play it if they haven't already.

Demon's was just the prototype for Dark Souls. It's so clunky and unfinished.

Dark Souls was made only because Demon's Souls was Sony's property, so FROM literally remade the same game from scratch but a bit more polished. This way they have control over the IP and can have it on all platforms, not just PS3.

Now, admittedly Dark Souls 2 and 3 were cashgrabs, but Bloodborne and Sekiro are completely legit. Let's see how Elden Ring turns out.

I liked DeS's builds more than any of the DaS games. Sure things like poise improved the combat, but there was nothing as cool as a full Faith build with that constant hp regen in the Dark Souls games.

Nah. It wasn't properly balanced with equipment load but it is a necessary mechanic to make heavy armor viable.

Poise had some issues, but it's way better than every hit turning into a 2k damage stunlock like blueblood sword builds in DeS did.

Poise should ideally exist to facilitate heavy weapons. Poise benefiting light weapons in flawed, since light weapons can afford to get more poise more easily.

Completly agree. More specifically, Havel's set the way it was implemented was a mistake. It's just ridiculously too good, and especially so for something you can just find behind a wall. It basically ruined my first playthrough because I could just face tank the rest of the game.
