Borderlands is entirely riding on its decent core gameplay loop of loot and shoot. Everything beyond that (UI, writing, quest and level design, game technical performance, anything said or done by gearbox/randy on social media) is objectively terrible

Duke3D was practically finished by the time he was hired by 3D Realms. All his levels in Shadow Warrior had to be finished by someone else and they're still the worst levels in the game.
