It has some good qualities but it has the lowest budget of the trilogy by far (you can see the cut corners and recycled content everywhere) and I personally dislike timer gimmicks. XIII-2 is my favorite of the three.

The reason your succubus looks like younger Serah is because of the unresolve in Lightning's heart that caused Lightning to become such a guarded person in the first place. It's been thousands of years since XIII, and the l'Cie have been left immortal from their curse: Snow ruthlessly reigns over a luxurious casino world, Noel is a vigilante, Fang leads a faction of desert bandits whom she fucks, Sahz seeks to restore his crystalized son, Vanille is the prophet of a doomsday cult, Hope has been appointed by god to build a massive ark, Light' has been appointed by God to bring souls onboard said ark. God will reset all existence in exactly 13 days, because He can.

Story is second to XIII, music is last in the trilogy (but still really good), graphics are the best in the trilogy, gameplay is different from the others but still fast and satisfying.
Lightning's armpit game is the best in the franchise. Exploration is fully nonlinear but you have a timelimit; this is the Majora's Mask of FF.

Maybe they'll make a remastered trilogy at some point? Not that it's needed really since the games look amazing even now.

I still haven't played it because I can't stand games with time limits. Makes me feel stressed and I end up rushing through all objectives and ultimately don't enjoy the games.

PC but make sure to optimize for performance. Square has a habit of making bad ports so you need to have everything set up right.

The only thing I remember about ff13 was lighting apologizing to a door and a constant desire to get mounted by fang. Never beaten it either nor bothered with the rest of the trilogy because I skipped every cutscene after the door scene

Said it once and many times before, a turn based strategy game is always shit. The only good final fantasy games are one's with none of that turn based strategy bullshit. Those include final fantasy 15, Final fantasy crystal Chronicles crystal bearers, final fantasy crystal cronicles, ehoes of time, Dissida 012 final fantasy duodecim and maybe the ps4 version, Final fantasy type 0 HD and that's it. The vast majority are shit.

Turn based strategy games are always trash. Though the new final fantasy is good, the final fantasy 7 remake is just what the game needed. When final fantasy 7 first came out it should have gotten a remake within the first year.

According to DF it runs the best and has 4K support hacked in but FMVs on Xbox versions are more compressed than on others AFAIK.

I just googled it up and apparently MS went above and beyond and requested new files from Square for X1X BC, so it looks just as good as on PS3 now. So there you go I guess.

No, you can get everything on the first go. NG+ only unlocks hard mode.

Ah, I remember fighting what I think was a superboss in the desert first go around but there were a couple of hoops to jump through to do so.

Akshually the desert boss changes depend on if you fight it day 1-7 or 8-13.
But that's a bestiary kinda thing. Furthermore monster drops also change on the day you fight them

From the moment I saw first footage of VIIR combat, few months ago, I noticed some stuff from Lightning Returns. And I was right, the same people are working on VIIR.
You can love or hate XIII Trilogy, but the fact remains. LR has one of the best, if not THE best combat system in the series.
