MGS5, Death Stranding will probably beat it.

It's a short art game about a metaphorical exploration of grief. The creator is an actual visual artist who wanted to make something interactive, and it shows — it's not quite a walking sim since it has some puzzle platforming, but the gameplay is really there to enhance the art, not the other way around. It also does some cool things with experiential storytelling. I'd say it's comparable to Journey.

Punpun isn’t pretentious, but it’s fans are.

Flower, Sun, and Rain. I love that game but it's a giant meta fuckfest that is basically a practical joke on the player, literally bad on purpose.

But the whole game was this theme about "Corporations are the real demons" and it's super hamfisted.

Pretentious means a person or thing is claiming to be grander or more important than it is. The entire plot takes itself too seriously and has the underlying anti-capitalist theme that tries to be deep.

It's an enjoyable shounen. Not liking the direction it's going but it's inoffensive.
