i was planning on hacking mine this week but decided to download a few games first. i tried 4 different games from 4 different websites and every single download tried either injecting a virus, malware or ransomware into my computer and on top of that redirected me to phishing sites. Litterally every guide for the past 3 years make you install both FBI and the Homebrew Channel as cias on your 3DS, you fucked up user.
You're gonna have to use which ever method you originally used to boot the homebrew channel to actually hack your 3ds the first time and install both HBlauncher and FBI cias via the HBL's FBI package. Unless Luma now has an on-boot button combo to actually boot in the HBL, something I'm not aware of.

You can. Just use whatever exploit you originally used to boot the Homebrew Launcher on your o3DS, launch FBI from there, and make sure to install all the relevant .cias. The 3dshacksguide page that someone linked earlier has rar files with all the necessary cias included in one download

Both the L and R button of my 3DS stopped working so I ripped the fucking buttons off from the 3DS with my bare hands breaking them then I put a small eraser gum piece over the buttons and carefully forced the buttons back in the 3DS

Yeah, pretty much, just open FBI, go to "install cia" pick the one you want and let it do it's stuff, the .cia can be deleted automatically if you want so you don't have to take it out manually, just make sure to have it on your PC if you want to reinstall the game.

yes. if you're not on a good vidya torrent tracker, you'll probably have to use shitty forums and go through a couple ad referrers to get game cias, but actually installing them is that easy.
and in case it's not obvious, the cia is just for installing the game, you can delete it from your SD card after installing it, some people don't realize that right away.

do you plan on actually using the flashcart beyond the initial hacking process? If so make sure you get one w/out timebomb (gbatemp has a list comparing carts). If you just want it for the initial hacks I'd get any el-cheapo cart, but otherwise the R4 gold 3ds plus isn't bad

When replacing the speakers, I ended up breaking the replacement speakers. So now I'm contemplating whether or not I should just take it to a repair shop at this point because I know if I sent it back to Nintendo they'd fuck with it for having CFW.

I bricked mine back when rxtools was still a thing, and still managed to unbrick like three months ago with ntrboot.
As long as you make backups, like every single guide you find will tell you ton, unless you do physical damage to your system, you should be able to unbrick it in case you fuck up (which you'd have to try to fuck up, the current guide for it is 99.9% foolproof)

I thought a good gba emu couldn't be done on 3ds.
The only reason a ds emu works on 3ds is because there is an official ds emu in the 3ds.

build a .cia using it with your gba rom of choice
install .cia you make with FBI
run the game like any other digital game

I only use it once in a while to play 3DS games. There's literally dozens of devices that emulate classic games better. I'm not going to waste my time update or installing new shit when I'm perfectly happy doing it the old fashion way.

there is an mgba port for 3DS, however it's not going to give you the perfect accuracy and speed injecting will.

Nintendo were dummies and the eshop never checked if your account owned something because it didn't have a proper account verification system at all. When you bought shit on it a ticket file a few kb big would be saved to your 3DS and the shop would look for those to determine what you owned any time you went on it.

Once hacked people figured out how to load tickets onto their 3DS and then DL shit from Ninty itself for free. Freeshop was a homebrew app that streamlined things by acting as an intermediary that would sort ticket permissions for you as you browsed it to DL stuff once you pointed it towards a database of them hosted online. It even worked for multiple regions so you didn't have to manually fuck around swapping between them.

install twilightmenu++, its updater, and the DS games you want to play. if you're going to play something that requires an AP patch, you'll need to find a patcher as i don't think twilightmenu++ can do it for you

I did, but it has too many games now and I never know what to play. i like the 3ds library, and i have every game i would ever want to play (which is a lot because I actually like games) but when i look through them, i don't find any of them appealing. it's definitely probably due to the fact that i got too many at once, but i wanted to future proof it basically and be done with it. i'm also considering dropping the GBA titles i have on it. too many and I'd rather get a gba again or something for that.

Tried playing Denpa man recently. Kinda meh, so far. You have to keep catching new dudes (basically a gacha) to get the ones with good spells or stats, which involves rotating your 3ds all around, which I wouldn't call fun. Also, it would have been better if it had waifus.

Ehh nah. mGBA on vita has framerate issues last time I ran and gpsp runs fine but does have some sound issues.
3ds vc injection runs seemlessly but it doesnt have savestates or other common emu features.

Haven't tried the whole gba library but I tried the Battle Network games and the ran nicely at full speed.

Yes. It works on all models because the GBA hardware is needed for DS back compat, and all models are backwards compatible with the DS

Depends on how many actual 3DS games you want to have on the thing. A 16GB card can hold you about 5 games, the issue is that if you're installing through FBI you need double the space the game actually occupies

Depends on what hacks you have installed. If you're up to date on B9S and Luma, it is safe to update. There is a method to stop it from promting you to update but I forgot how to do it. You need to delete some files. It probably happened because you put it in sleep mode with WiFi enabled. It preloads firmware updates in that state and nags you about it later. Never put it in sleep mode while WiFi is on.

Well damn I'm just a bit confused on how it worked because I thought the majority of the programs would be tied to the SD cards, but I guess now you can just hack the new system and merge the folders together with no problems, though maybe you'll have to account for the cias?

DS Lite or Switch Lite?

There is a way of system transfering a hacked 3DS. The old one will not be hacked afterwards. I don't know how it works because I never had to do it. If you find out, make sure that your old one is plugged into a power outlet the whole time. Since you said it dies so quickly it would probably be bad news if it shut down during this process.
